Draco sighed. He wasn't sure why or who had shot the shuttle down, but he assumed Primeval holdouts. No doubt there would be pockets of resistance for months to come, but why they were set up over this fairly large patch of jungle valley he wasn't sure. All he knew was that his pilots had perished and he was alone, but far from helpless.

He took in a deep breath and closed his eyes, letting his presence seep through the web of the Force, feeling every living thing for a short distance, roughly blaster rifle range. He could recognize their signatures, feel them as small insects blinked out of existence, taken by small predators. After a moment he opened his eyes and began moving, off towards the valley's western ridge at a moderate jog. Worst case, Draco would work to disable those Ion Cannons.

He saw the starfighter that had followed them get shot down as well, and made a mental note that he was travelling perpendicular to its direction. <Well, could go check it out?> He was calm, collected, centered for the first time in a long time thanks to finally being grounded. <No, best to handle those cannons to keep more from being shot down. Good of the many and all that.>

Her ejector seat landed, but unfortunately it got tangled up inside a tree. She took her lightsaber and cut herself free, and then jumped down to the base of tree. She was further toward the ion cannons than her target draco, she knew something was up with him, and she wanted to know what. If she could help him she would, but she need to know what it was first. She figured knowing him he would head to the center of battle near those cannons, as such she need to go their too. Though she need to do it in such away, he would get there first, so she could figure out what was wrong with him, as it may only manifest it self in the heat of battle. Though she would still have to fight along side him, if he need help as she was till a mandalorian in the making. She decide he could probably out run or walk her, and as such her pace did not really matter. What did matter he could not see her, so she pushed her arm out, and imagined at the end of her arm was water, as she pulled her arm in she began to move under water, and began fade from site. She was soon invisible to her friends and enemies, and it was time to move slowly, towards the ion cannons.

Enemies: Death Watch
[[Post 2/20]]

With the Verds breaching Mount Tantiss from above, his squadmates loosened up believing that all possible Death Watch forces around here would have retreated to regroup and fend off the assault of the Verds. Indeed, it was the most logical possibility. But it was still a possibility and not a fact. His comrades' pace had inceased and as such Marius was a few feet off the position he should been in their half-circle formation. They were eager to join the fray already, even the Rally Master of their squad was moving forward with more enthusiasm and less caution. The Teresman had warned them earlier but no one heeded his words. Words of a fresh Initiate.

His words, unfortunately, had just been backed.

An explosion on their right flank disintegrated one of his comrades and a rain of blaster fire poured on their positions.

Marius' caution had saved him, for now. A few blaster bolts hit his armor and he immediately went for cover behind a tree. His 360 degrees visor helped him notice the appearance of the Death Watch warriors that engaged in closer combat with their vode - the True Mandalorians. Apparently, their ambushes seemed more keen on fighting closer combat. Was that the preferred method of fighting amongst the Death Watch ? Marius did not know. All that mattered now was to jump in the fray and attempt to fend off the Death Watch forces which currently outnumbered them. Before that, he used his cover to safely transmit a message to those that were to be engaged in the same objective:

"Ambush - sector C!"

Marius had no time to listen to any answers for reinforcements, he had to do his best to survive this ambush.
Swiftly jumping from his cover, he charged as a wolf the Death Watch warriors. Marius took the opportunity of his surprising appearance to utilize his MM9 Missile launcher that was on his left wrist. He was told that the missiles fired could 'track' the target but Marius had not learned exactly how that possible, so he simply fired the missile aiming it manually at Death Watch warrior who had left his cover and was firing accuratly at Marius' comrades. The last he saw of his target was his frozen posture before the missile landed on him.

Now that the Teresman's appearance was known, a lot of visors turned towards him. The barrage of blaster fire that commenced upon him made him activate his grav boots and propel himself above, leaving the place where he was standing being obliterated with all sorts of arsenal. Marius, the technological caveman that he was, had somehow deactivated his grav boots and was now falling down from thirty feet. Luck saved him. He had been able to activate them again a few feet before he was going to crash, thus landing safely behind a thicker tree. Raising his beskad and holding it tight he was surprised of the beskad that struck his own. The Death Watch bladesman was going to slash through Marius' torso if he had not stood in a stance with a raised beskad. Despite that, the opposing Mandalorian took his surprise to deliver a powerful knee to the Teresman's guts. It landed and Marius gasped for breath. His unyielding spirit made him notice the Death Watch raising his arm and aiming with his wrist, the opponent was just about to finish the Teresman. Marius was able to anticipate that move and clinging to life he rolled forward, evading at the last moment the man's blast. Knowing well that the Death Watch warrior would continue to fire his wrist blaster at the moving target that Marius was, the Teresman used his jumping towards the ground as a means to hurl his feet at the opponent's feet. His kick connected and the opposing warrior fell down on the ground. But the Death Watch warrior was a capable one, he had stood back on his feet the moment the Teresman had.

The opponent lunged forward towards Marius with a very murderous intent. Marius had to go on the defensive against the furious onslaught by the Death Watch Mandalorian. The Teresman felt Teres' Fury (the Force that he is not aware of) surge through him. His physical capabilities increased, his perception and anticipation skills in combat sharpened, and Marius felt one with his beskad. He was in combat. That is where Marius excelled.
The Death Watch continued with his dangerous onslaught but his reckless attacks seemed to sap his strength with every deflection Marius offered. The opponent was a dirty player. He surprisingly rose his wrist blaster and fired. Teres' Fury saved him. And his armor too. He barely moved away but not enough and half a dozen blaster bolts struck his armor with such accurancy that all landed at almost the same spot on his armor, punching a hole in his armor and a burning wound in his ribs. The blaster bolt's heat made Marius sweat and lose control for just a moment. The opposing warrior used that moment to slash. Barely evading the blade, it made a gruesome scratch across Marius' chestplate. Feeling the blade so close brought the Mandalorian back to reality, Teres' Fury engulfed him even more and now was the time for retribution.

With surprising agility and strength, Marius went on the offensive. His fast and aimed hacks and slashes forced his opponent to start losing ground. Marius' heart beated and Teres' Fury roared. All of his willpower forced into one sentence: I will not die today.
Marius' onslaught was much more capable and the opposing warrior was beginning to realize that. The fast slashes of the beskad that were being delivered were the reason the opposing warrior did not risk utilizing his wrist blaster again or another component of his Mandalorian armor. He possibly realized that his reflexes would not be fast enough for him to fire a blaster bolt before the blade cut him. Or that is what Marius believed of the opponent. And Marius was wrong, or was no longer right.

The Death Watch made his mistake. He attempted to use his wrist blaster once again and the opening that movement created was enough for Marius to take. In his next attack he lunged himself forward at such close distance that raised hand of the Death Watch warrior was parallel to his body, while Marius' beskad had brutally pierced through the man's guts. The moment that blade had struck flesh and organs the Teresman had purposefully moved it with great strength upward towards the man's throat. The blade artistically drawing a line through the opponent's midsection. A gruesome death.

There was no time for more drama as he knew that his comrades were still in the middle of a fight which they were losing. He realized that he had left the central area of where the fight was going on and had to dash before he was back at the fray. Marius was glad to realize that reinforcements had arrived. Dropships had apparently landed, the assault commencing prematurely, possibly due to the Verds breaching Mount Tantiss earlier. Despite the reinforcements, it seemed as the Death Watch still lightly outnumbered the True Mandalorians. But that would be for long. Information told him more and more dropships had landed. It was a matter of time before more True Mandalorians poured into the fray here. What would the Death Watch do ? Die before retreating ? Or retreat ? Or maybe expect reinforcements of their own to clinch their victory in the current battle.

That was to be seen.

Wayland. The world had a long history among the Mandalorians. But it had fallen into Primeval hands last year. The fight had been bitter, but in the end, the Mandalorians had withdrawn following their defeat, and left the world in Primeval hands. Not that they did so lightly. They had fought hard to keep the world within Mandalorian borders. But at the time, it was not meant to be. But, perhaps now would be different. She frowned as she contemplated that.

For now though, she had other things to focus on. Cautiously. she hopped down from the upper fuselage of her bes'uliik. She'd brought it in cloaked. Which was probably wise considering the sheer amount of anti-aircraft fire coming from the Mount Tantiss installation. Sure, the Mandalorians had been mining in the area, and had an installation there. But even they hadn't explored much beyond their initial survey for the mining itself. So, there was probably a lot here they didn't know about.

Frowning again, Anija instructed ANNE to keep the bes'uliik cloaked and hidden. It would provide a quick getaway should such be needed. Sure ANNE had been installed in Anija's armor, but Anija had also installed a secondary processor and interface in her personal fighter. It certainly made some things a lot simpler. But what she was about to venture into was far from simple. She remembered the last time she'd set foot on Wayland. There'd been more than just their Primeval foes to worry about then. And the same was still true.

Whatever pockets of resistance remained in the Form of Primeval forces would be handled. And she wouldn't be overly surprised if elements from Death Watch made an appearance as well. They seemed to excel at that. She wasn't entirely sure what their purpose was with this iteration, but hoped that the Mandalorians would be able to route them from within their borders for good. But for now, she had other concerns.

There had been a small Mandalorian resistance operating on Wayland since the planet had fallen to the Primeval, and she'd occasionally gotten reports from them. What was most concerning her right now was that there was still a sizable Kremlin presence. She'd dealt with the creatures some during the Invasion of Wayland. And yet, they were still a problem. It was a good thing when it came to Primeval though. One more obstacle for them. But she knew they would need to clear a good portion of the Kremlin if they had any hope of reclaiming the planet, let alone the Mandalorian installation itself.

There was a tone of rage and anger in this man when he spoke. Vilaz couldn't blame his emotions, for the Redneck felt the same way. Angry, sorrowful, and full of self-hate. However, the one emotion or feeling that the two Warriors didn't shared was conflict. The Redneck was full of it as he doubted himself with every passing day when he made a dramatic turn of joining the terrorists of Death Watch. Many Mandalorians would think that he would stand his ground and demonstrate that the True Mandalorians were strong and bold like they've always were. His turning would demoralize the True Mandalorians knowing the reputation of him.

A telekinetic energy came from the hostile which caused the Field Marshal to be thrown away creating a greater gap between them. He immediately got back up to his feet a few seconds after his whole body was on the ground. He was surprised to hear that the man who attacked him was Isley Verd. What right did he had to lecture him about his actions. At least the Bounty Hunter was trying to make a difference for the Mandalorians while Isley came back from his excommunication when he insulted the Clans. Unlike Isley, Vilaz, however, wasn't going point out the faults of the returned Mandalorian.

"You don't get it, Isley. I didn't do this just to get power or be in a higher position within our ranks," he said in Mando'a, "I did this to make us stronger again. When Azrael was Mandalore we were weak and he didn't do a single damn thing about it. I did my best while he ruled us, but my suggestions were laughed at. Nothing was done, and I got tired of that crap. Even right now, without him, we are still weak. I didn't want another damn civil war, but if this is the only way to make us strong again, then I'm sorry."

He began to walk towards the dar'manda, slowly closing the distance between them, and had his left hand containing his knife, in a reverse grip, in front of him while his right hand was at his side with the Darksaber.

The two men were more alike than they cared to realize.

In one form or another, both Vilaz and Isley had turned their back on the Mandalorian ways. The former cast his lot in with the Death Watch and was actively slaying his fellow vode. And Isley? His sin was hubris. He walked away from the United Clans so that he might attain greater power through the Dark Side. Yet in that time, the former Dar'manda had never once betrayed the Mandalorians. Had he ever given their enemies information? Nay. Had he ever stood against the Clans in any shape or form? Nay. Had he truly forsaken the Resol'nare? Nay.

And when Isley removed his head from his arse, he came home. He threw himself to the mercy of the Council and atoned for walking away. Did this make him any better than the young man before him? No, of course not. But it did justify his anger. Even whilst in the depths of his sins, Isley did not walk Vilaz's path. Even when his back was turned to the Clans, he did not fight against them.

Isley watched as the young Operative rose to his feet. Good. It would be a shame if a simple shove ended their bout. He then regarded the words...and found himself baring his teeth.

"You. Fool." he seethed. "How is fighting against your own people going to make them strong? How is claiming the lives of your kin...How will shattering that trust ever make the Mandalorian people stronger? If it is Azrael you blame, then the fault rests on your shoulders boy. You should have done as the old ways demanded. You should have challenged him. Only the Strongest May Rule Mandalore."

Isley paused. His anger was getting the better of him...and should he falter, it would lash out. A calm breath filled his lungs: the rage was smothered for the moment. In its place was clarity. Focus.

"It's not too late for you. If you truly want to make Mandalore strong again, then stop fighting your own family. You can come home, just as I did. We can make Mandalore stronger, but we must do so together." The former Dar'manda extended his offhand: a gesture. An olive branch. "Come home. Or...I'll have no choice."

Objective 4: Eliminate pockets of Primeval Resistance
Allies: Mandalorians
...as the Mandalorians trekked deeper into the torrential forests of Wayland Andras would glance over at the Initiate he'd been paired with and remind him to..."Stay frosty kid."...via the comms while continuing a slow movement that took him through the vegetation. Every footstep was measured, every movement was calculated; Andras didn't step until he'd looked to make sure he wasn't stepping on a branch or root that might give away his position. The Initiate with him followed suit and moved with the utmost care. The other groupings moved in a similar fashion as they fanned out totaling six pairs total that created a small but effective firing line. Reaching out with his left hand after slipping it off the underside of his weapons barrel Andras would move a collection of branches aside as he passed by them easily, allowing them to swing back into place in the aftermath of his passage....

...they walked for what seemed like hours, maybe half that much time in reality though before Andras would raise his arm parallel to his head, fist closed and gesture with it so that the Initiate with him knew to take cover. Likewise Andras knelt down onto a knee after giving the signal which was then relayed via comms to the other pairs until all of them were in cover, mixing with the natural camouflage of the forest and its vegetation. Activating the Datapad on his arm Andras began to study the intel that he had on the area before his voice was clearly heard over the comms...
"Alright orbital scans revealed heat signatures in this area. Nothing outrageous but stay alert. There should be a ridge a couple hundred yards ahead we'll get a lay of the land from there. Move out."...then Andras was on his feet and moving ahead again with his Blaster Rifle covering a forward arc of fire once again...

...the longest part of a mission like this was the walking, they walked and they walked and the further they all walked the denser the forest seemed to become. Up ahead the ground started to ascend noticeably indicating they'd come to the base of the ridge and Andras would trudge ahead to begin climbing the hillside that lead to their destination. As he went the Dark Horse noticed that the trees started to thin somewhat, rays of the sun cast down through the foliage would reflect off the visor of his helm but the light filtration system meant he didn't need to worry about any kind of distraction. Andras would pause as he moved ahead, he'd heard something and looking back over his shoulder he'd motion to the Initiate to stay low before falling onto his stomach and crawling the rest of the way to the ridge of the hill. Andras was like a snake slithering over roots and the grass, he even went under a fallen piece of wood at one point but eventually the ridge he'd sought was his giving him a clear view of the other side...

...
"We've got movement."...Andras voice rang over the comms after he reached the ridge, remaining down on his stomach he'd observe the area from his vantage point and report back what he saw. It went as thus..."Looks like Primeval. Two squads maybe. They're using camo netting woven in the trees to hide themselves. Guerrilla force probably. Alright, get into position."...the sounds of -copy- or -check- were heard over comms on the secure channel as the other Mandalorian pairs took position on the ridge where they'd have clear arcs of fire down into the enemy encampment. Once everything was squared away they'd wait for Andras signal...

The next orders that arrived for the forces engaging in Sector C were easy to be said but very much harder to achieve. The earlier ambush had been replaced with a much more sophisticated combat situation. With the True Mandalorian Assault Force arriving via drop ships and shuttles to support the positions of the heavily outnumbered recon forces. The tide of battle was supposed to turn but the Death Watch seemed to pour and more men to equal the numbers of the True Mandalorians and to repel or at least delay the eventual assault the True Mandalorians would attempt to commence. The Death Watch's resolve was expressed in their 'Death or Glory' attitude they demonstrated in their fights. They fought fiercely, with no regard for the life, possibly motivated by a radical cause. Yet, at the same time their combat capabilities were far from being described as reckless. They were methodical and ruthless in their defense, immediately taking any opportunity of winning back ground from the True Mandalorians' onslaught.

The jungle was being obliterated by the arsenal both sides threw. Trees were falling, thick bushes were obliterated and covers were becoming harder to find. The battle was becoming much more ranged rather than melee. That was not a good sign for Marius. He excelled in close-quarter combat but lacked in ranged combat. Additionally, his duel with the Death Watch Mandalorian earlier had his armor dented in a few places, scratches from the opponents blade were obvious on the armor that was typically white but now had been adjusted to the green color of the fauna. Moreover, the showdown with the Death Watch warrior was indeed a tiring and tough battle and it had resulted in a burning wound on where his flesh covered his ribs.

The good news from the change of situation was that he was given quick medical attention to that cursed burning wound, although that just barely bettered his condition. It seemed only to stop his insane sweating and dampen the pain of it a bit. Still, Marius was glad as he did not feel as much pain when he moved through the jungle back into where the front lines were. The Teresman presumed that his beskad would be useless in the current combat scenario and thus he had sheathed it back, arming himself with a blaster rifle given to him by those that arrived with additional supplies to support the fighting True Mandalorians. Might as well improve his skills with such advanced weaponry.

His helmet detected the figures of Death Watch forces. They were appearing and disappearing. Most likely they were using some kind of sensor disruptor playing tricks with the True Mandalorians' sensors. He knew about such technology thanks to his fellow Mandalorians' conversations about war. Suddenly, a figure appeared dangerously close on his left. Possibly a dozen feet away. There was no time to calculate the distance, his self-preserving instinct taking the upper hand and forcing him to jump forward as a rain of blaster rifle poured on his position. He was able to evade a few bolts but possibly half a dozen had struck his armor, mostly on his left shoulder and left leg. Considering the rate of fire, the opponent was armed with a heavy repeating rifle. There was no time to think about that as the opponent's aim followed Marius' jump and as such the Teresman dashed forward. To attempt to halt the barrage of bolts that were chasing him, the Teresman fired a 'lucky' rocket aimlessly towards where the Death Watch Mandalorian was positioned. Marius cursed that he did not grasp how to utilize the so-called 'homing' system of his wrist missle launcher. Eitherways, Marius achieved what he wanted - halted the opponent's insane fire. At least until he was able to take cover behind a thicker tree. Unfortunately for the Teresman, such covers were much less due to the war that was being lead here.

He panted as he analysed his surroundings with his visor. Nothing. Marius was sure he had not disintegrated his opponent. But the Death Watch warrior was nowhere to be found. Whatever technological upgrades the Death Watch warrior had they were giving him a great advantage against Marius. The Teresman felt as Teres' Fury engulfed him and he held his blaster rifle tight. This was going to be far different than his previous encounter.

It was going to be a hunt.

And Marius was currently the prey.

"Yeah. That sounds like an appropriate plan. Just so long as I'M not the one on the list to get shot at..."

He hefted his pack once more and walked towards the tree line. He steeled his nerves for what was to come. The jungle did not look inviting and his briefing informed him that he was walking into the sequel to Little Shop of Horrors if the shop had been torn asunder and the contents of the shop were let out to live in the darkest of jungle. He walked under the tree line and could feel many beady little eyes directly on him. It wasn't 10 steps he took before he could feel the thump, thump of quills embedding in his armor.

He trudged through the undergrowth that left a semi-sticky sap on his armor as the leaves brushed him. Mayhaps a byproduct of the flora or a symptom of the jungle's corrupted condition. There seemed to be a puddle build up of some oily substance in the knoll of a tree. It was probably a good spot to collect a sample. He kneeled down and got to work, oblivious of the wildlife creeping in around him.

Her uncle had things to do outside of her skill set. His duel with the usurper would be his own and for Eirlys it meant only one thing, she had to assure that Isley was able to bring his abilities to bare without the constant interruption of other Deathwatch soldiers. A task she felt capable of doing.

Spinning on her heel Eirlys released a shot at a burly Mandalorian who seemed to have forgotten she was there, his eyes had been firmly planted on the back of Isley and his exposed angles. Eirlys raised her blaster, aimed at the back on the knees and planted the shot firmly within the target area. The man fell to the ground as shock overtook his system, the stun setting on the rifle there to assure that for now the blood of Mando’a no matter their allegiance was not spilt.

Another had come at her, his body also hitting the floor as blue pulses shot through his torso from her rifle. It had taken a sharp turn to get to him, but Eirlys’ form was flexible and falling to her knee and twisting had taken less effort then expected. She embraced the thrill of the combat, even if currently non-lethal the adrenaline was pumping. The Deathwatch wouldn’t allow a stun for her, no they would end the life of the youngest Clan Verd in an instant. That alone kept her going, kept her mind focused on the task at hand.

No attack came from either men at all. The Field Marshal was expecting another telekinetic attack erupting from the Father of House Verd, but nothing. Nor did the Redneck attempted to attack the Mandalorian, as he was the type of Warrior that countered every attack from his opponents and use them against them since it was the fundamentals of Judo or any martial art similar to it.

Instead of actions being acted from the dar'manda the man spoke words of wisdom to resolve this needless conflict. With no retaliation to the words of truth the Warrior listened and began to analyze the sentences. The only problem that came to him was how can Isley be sure they can make Mandalore strong again? That was the only major flaw he could think of from the man.

"Isley, how can you be sure that we can make Mandalore strong like it was in the time of our ancestors? I want to come back home, but I don't want it to be how it was when I left or before this whole mess started." His guard was still up in case anything happened, but didn't attack. He didn't want to blow a chance of making the entire Mandalorians strong and healthy.

That was the spirit to get into all of this. She was looking and with the setting on the rifle coming to what she wanted the pint size terror moved in seeing the red glow of one of them before she fired and the plasma projector in the rifle erupted a red ball into its face getting a screech and scream. She was moving to the side and keeping her attention on many of the things there while motioning him forward and checking her nightvision scope in the shadows. "Alright check it and move forward, got plenty of new things to test on this baby." She brought up the rifle moving forward more letting the motion sensor blip where more of the little things were coming from.

There is no worse feeling than the dread of no escape.

Marius had felt such dread a dozen times, a warrior is not just measured by his victories but by the battles he has survived. Not every battle is sealed before it even starts, more than enough times the Mandalorian had found himself in a deadly situation. A situation where the odds were against him.

Just like now.

It was only Teres' Fury, or what the galaxy called the Force, that made him dodge the pinpointed attacks of the stalking invisible enemy. The Death Watch hunter knew his surroundings, he monitored Marius while utilizing a technology that made him practically invisible to all sensors apart from Marius' eyes. And the opponent seemed to have played such a game for a long, long time.
Marius was simply using the Force for one reason - survive. He was able to escape numerous fatal shots by the hunter but he had also conceded enough that made dents in his armor, adding to those created by his earlier encounter with the blade wielding Death Watch who had wounded him with a blaster bolt. After that showdown, the wound was slightly tended by another Mandalorian but after his constant evasive movement to escape certain death, the wound was once again pulsating.

An abrupt feeling of death engulfed him and Marius jumped out of his cover which was a moment later covered in blaster fire. The barrage of blaster bolts followed his movement and struck his right thigh. Dashing unto another cover, feeling blood drop from a hole in his leg which also produced intense heat. This game was not going to continue any longer. When at the maw of death, one had to accept passing the threshold. At least, he believed so. Marius had been in a life and death situation numerous times but they were momentary. This was a slow death. It was a slow ride to hell and it could make even the toughest veteran shiver. The feeling of knowing that your time was coming up. Not the sudden death where you had only a moment to realize it and accept it.

There was only one thing left to do. It was a game where you either won or you died.

Marius took of his helmet and put it on the ground. He unsheathed his beskad and isolated his mind from everything but his blade. The Force engulfed him as he attempted to do what he had been recently told about. His faithful meeting with a girl - Mysa Snowstrider - had brought upon his mind so much knowledge about the blessing his people called Teres' Fury. A blessing which the galaxy knew as the force. Its possibilities endless.

The Mandalorian focused with his blade raised infront of his face and his eyes closed. He felt as if leaving his body, the clutches of the physical with one sole purpose. Find what threatened his life. He saw, no, he felt the grasp of the force to everything around him. The most insignificant, microscopic being around him was as significant as every other life form when 'seen' through the Force. Marius was in awe but he was warned about the flow of the Force and how one could lose himself. The Mandalorian forced all his willpower on his goal - survive. And that is when he heard a voice - his voice in his head.

Run.

Marius dashed forward, his eyes still closed and his blade in his right hand.

Left.

Abruptly, Marius turned left leaving his hunter to chase him.

Left.

The blaster fire followed and so did the methodical steps of the running Death Watch predator. It seemed that he was growing impatient and was now ready to end this game by ending Marius' life.

Now!

Now meant only one thing. One word in his voice meant a whole sentence, a whole decision, a whole command.

Marius suddenly turned around, opening his eyes and seeing that he had arrived at a clearing. As he turned around, Marius saw the black armor of the hunter. The Force had guided him in a place where the man could not hide. At least if he wanted to keep a distance enough for a clean shot. Without much thought, the Teresman hurled his beskad as a glaive. He did not realize how he was able to throw it with such precision and speed. Perhaps it was the Force. The beskad was spinning and producing the ugly noise of death as it decapitated the armored Death Watch hunter. The whole move had taken the hunter by the surprise, he had been used to chasing down enemies and slaughtering them without ever seeing any other reaction by his preys apart from delaying their eventual deaths.

The prey had won. The Force had prevailed.

Panting and lying on the ground, his whole body aching and in pain, Marius let a smile paint his face.

He would live to fight another day.

Dralos and his squad continued to move in, each of them being able to communicate despite them being separated. He continued to stay vigilant, ready for any hint from the force. While he knew that their were times when the force could fail him, it was his only defense considering they were entering unfamiliar territory, and he had to use this defense, to protect himself, but more importantly, to protect the Mandalorians, the True Mandalorians.

The Anzat continued to move in, until he heard an explosion. Death Watch is here he thought, as he prepared for the fight. Soon, his unit was attacked. Dralos grabbed his lightsaber, and prepared himself for the fight.

As Death Watch attacked, his unit scattered, each of the men taking cover. Fortunately for Dralos, Death Watch mostly had energy based weapons, so he was safe from slugs. The young(by Anzati standards) man activated his lightsaber, and began to deflect the blaster bolts. As he did this, he also took cover, deactivating his lightsaber, wanting to safe his strength for the fight that began.

"We are outnumbered, and outgunned. We need reinforcements." the communication officer stated over the encrypted comm channel.

Slowly, but surely, Dralos' unit began to dwindle down, reducing in numbers to a mere 20 men. When it seemed that Death Watch would finish them, the Rally Master arrived, along with his unit, and other units.

While this was occurring, the Rally Master heard the call, and prepared himself to attack. His unit had discovered that their were routes that were interconnected in the mine, and they used it to their advantage. He revealed this to the leaders of Unit 1,3, and 4, and ordered them to reach this specific location. After this occurred, he spoke.

"Unit 1, and 3, begin a hybridized pincer, and support and fire movement immediately. Concentrate fire on the weakened units. Unit 4, come with me, and move into a forward crescent formation, to maximize cover, and range so we can protect Unit 2. We are going to set up a camp here." the Rally Master stated.

Soon, Part of Unit 1, and 3 moved in, attacking the right, and left flanks of the Death Watch force while executing support, and fire movement immediately. The Death Watch members were surprised by this, and while they performed admirably, they knew that they would lose, mostly because they were facing people with more ammunition, etc.

After a while, they won the battle. He then spoke again. "Those that are injured in Unit 2 while remain here. We are going to attack Death Watch immediately, now that we are close to Mount Tarris. I want some men to stay here, and set up defenses. Use some of the Death Watch defenses against them; also set up fortified positions in any place that our enemy can use to attack. Constantly communicate with us, and the force that are protecting us in the entrance." the Rally Master stated.

After that, they continued to move, and Dralos was among them. They continued to move through the mine, and soon, they reached had reached Mount Tarris, and they so [member="Isley Verd"] and @Eisley Verd fighting with the famed Field Marshal, Vilaz Munin.

"Traitors..." the Rally Master stated, his blood boiling, ready for a fight.

"Pincer movement on the sides. Also execute support and fire movement immediately. Fight for our fallen brothers." the Rally Master ordered.

After this, the Rally Master pointed at Dralos, and ordered him to come with him. He knew that he was a force user, and a force user would certainly be helpful against [member="Vilaz Munin"], and his skills that had earn him the rare rank of Field Marshal. "Let us go reinforce them." he stated, and Dralos went with him, vigilant, and ready for any attack.

As he did this, the force that he was in attacked Death Watch. Dralos checked for any life forms, and found out that there was no one hiding in any place here to conduct a surprise attack on him, his force, and the Rally Master. That however didn't man that he was safe, and Dralos was aware of what that was happening, knowing full well that this would be a fight to protect Mandalore.

A sigh escaped the lips of the former Dar'manda.

Such was the way of the world. Such was the way of the living. As with most things, it fell upon the shoulders of those older and wiser to guide the young. Thus did Isley look upon his wayward vod...whilst attempting to dispel his fury. Vilaz's heart was in the right place: he wanted a strong and united Mandalore. He wanted the best for the United Clans. In fact, Isley wagered that the same held true for every member of the Death Watch and True Mandalorians who did battle within the Mountain. It was a terrible sight to behold: brothers and sisters both attempting to bring about something positive. Yet they all, down to the last man, believed that bloodshed was the only option.

They were wrong. They were so wrong.

"Vilaz." breathed the Redeemed. "Look at the state of the Galaxy. The once powerful Republic has been reduced to a rump state. The undefeated One Sith is waist-deep in turmoil of its own making. The Primeval is gone. Every nation that posed a threat to the expansion of the Mandalorians has been eliminated or reduced to a husk." He paused, taking a moment to bat away a few of the stray blaster bolts that came their way. It wouldn't do to have either man fall right then; especially when Isley was starting to get through to the young man. "What is required to bring about change within the Clans is leadership. By all accounts, our previous Sole Ruler was a key contributor to the state of the Clans."

"But truly, the blame falls upon us all. Each one of us could have risen up and taken his place. Each one of us could have done as the Old Ways demanded. So. How am I sure that we can restore the Clans to their former glory?"

He broke off, interrupted by the hail of blaster fire which came from [member="Dralos"] and his units. The Redeemed cast the incoming duo, Anzat and Rally Master, a glance before giving them a warning. It was not uttered from his lips, mind. But rather spoken directly into their psyche: a telepathic missive from one vod to another. This one is mine.

Then, he returned his attention to the fallen Field Marshal. In a bold move, Isley reached out and attempted to place a hand upon his shoulder. It was a sign: one that the True Mandalorians and the Death Watch alike could see in the midst of the chaos. And whilst that gesture was made, he spoke into Vilaz's mind. A gentle whisper in the midst of utter chaos.

I am sure because I am confident in my ability to bring about change. I will succeed where my predecessors had failed. The current state of our nation is due to a void: a hole that only Mand'alor can fill.

Vilaz was smart. He would get where he was going with that.

"Come home, brother. Surrender your arms and come with me. I will plead your case before the Council and see to it that you are Redeemed, just as I."

Only words of wisdom and truth came from the mouth of the former Dar'manda, and those words was something that Vilaz can listen carefully too, unlike warmongering brutes like Tralik that didn't use any tactics of diplomacy and spoke through violent actions. The Redneck once had a simple, close-minded mentality that led to him not seeing the whole picture and beating up someone who angered him whether it was someone calming him or trying to get him to understand. But he matured and became a logical man that was seen as a leader and role model for the younger Mandalorian generations, but even being open-minded took its toll like right now in this tragic turmoil within the Clans.

Then came the True Mandalorians storming the hold of the mountain, clashing with Death Watch Mandalorians, but leaving Isley and Vilaz alone. If one was to attack the Field Marshal, then there would have been no doubt that he would immediately attack the returned Mandalorian. Luckily, no one initiated combat with the Redneck.

At the end, when Isley was near the Warrior and continued his dialogue Vilaz could only deactivate the saber and offer it to the Verd. "Alright, Isley. I surrender, but make sure I get my crossbow back." After noticing his errors, he was coming back home. Perhaps if he brought this up earlier he wouldn't be among the ranks of the Death Watch and would defend every True Mandalorian home from these terrorists, but fear of seeing the entire Clans of Mandalore like they were during the weaken state of Satine's Mandalorians during the Clone Wars struck him. He never wanted to see Mandalore and its colonies being occupied by Sith, Imperials, Republicans, or any foreign faction and be used for just its precious resources that defined bits and pieces of the Mandalorian Culture.

Bhaltair collected his samples from the Kremlin communal spot and quickly packed up his equipment so he could move on. There was little research to be found on the Kremlins, but they had been lucky enough to find out where and what the signs of their "activities" looked like. He had heard the thump of quills on his armor a little bit ago and now the rate of incoming thumps was increasing. This suggested that the Kremlins were confounded by his apparent lack of reaction to their ranged attack and were trying harder and harder to fell him. He stepped away before the snake above him could get into range. He spoke into his comm link,

"Levy? I've got the samples. I'm going to make like Dodge and get out of here. Be sure to preserve at least SOME of the Kremlin bodies you shoot so I can get something off of them. Oh, and make sure one of them is alive. It'll be vital to the cure effort. I'm heading back to research station Aurek."

An hour and a half later, Bhaltair was back in the research station. He was shower fresh and neatly dressed for more lab work. He stooped over his samples and went to work labeling and separating them. The first step was to analyze the material and understand its base "ingredients". The first few hours he spent on this new project were met with any project's initial hurdles of organization and figuring out all of the unknown variables. It was late and he was tired. Tomorrow, he should be able to make more leeway on the matter.

Location:Wayland, Torrential Forest
Objective 4:Eliminate pockets of Primeval Resistance
Allies:Mandalorians
...the Mandalorians, including Andras continued to observe the Primeval encampment from a distance on the hillside and down from the ridge while the others took their positions under cover of the natural camouflage offered by the mixture of vegetation and foliage. The Initiates would check in over private comms one after another to indicate their pairing had reached an optimal arc of fire and was prepared to engage the enemy. As Andras made note of those relaying their whereabouts he remained low, on his belly and peered over the hillside so that he could look down on the enemy camp. Thus far the Mandalorians had remained undetected, fortunate so that they could retain the element of surprise against the greater numbers of the Primeval force they were now facing...

...reaching down Andras would take a grenade from his belt, draw it up in his grasp and begin to prime it while motioning for the Initiate at his side to do likewise. As he prepared his voice would come over comms...
"Wait for signal, then begin your attack."...he took a breath which crackled faintly in the ears of everyone on comms..."Fight hard, live long."...then the comms went silent as Andras primed the grenade he'd taken. Gripping the grenade in his right hand Andras would cook it as he rose to his knees, revealing himself as a small target, drew his arm back behind himself and lobbed the it overhead down towards the encampment. Likewise the Initiate at his side would have done the same...

...the grenades would detonate a short time after they were thrown down from the vantage point the Mandalorians had taken, the explosions ripped through the encampment sending some shrapnel and debris into adjacent areas and creating a lot of noise. Casualties were sustained but only minimal ones. The Primeval regrouped quickly and started to fire on the hillside up towards the ridge where at least one of the two throwing the grenades had been spotted by a sentry in a turn of bad luck...

...blaster fire chewed up the dirt, heavy weapons fire too but it was soon turned by the sounds of return fire. The Mandalorians, spread across the hillside and lower along the horizon that caused it to merge back with forest fired in earnest now that the attack was underway. Andras took his blaster rifle again, crawled forward on his stomach so that he could peek over the ridge of the hillside and allowed the friend/foe designator in his hud to indicate he targets firing up at his. The Blaster Rifle found the crevice of his right shoulder, his left hand reached ahead to support the barrel and he aimed down range before concentrating his arc of fire on the fore. Targets faded, new targets lit up but Andras was to busy to know which kills were his as sent a barrage at the enemy and dirt kicked up into his face thanks to the return of fire causing light debris and dust to obstruct his vision which was mitigated by the advance optics of his helm...
"For Mandalore!"...

The next day, after he finally got more samples and a live specimen, he set to work with more gusto.

The samples were mostly of excrement, saliva, quill poison and/or fleshy tissue bits from Levy's exuberance for violence...

The live specimen was understandably riled up about its current conditions. It kept looking for a way out and wouldn't stop making whining noises. After a moment of deliberation, Bhaltair decided to name the kremlin "Tony". He fed the little kremlin a sedative so he could concentrate on the work at hand. It seemed to do the trick.

The excrement suggested that they were strictly carnivorous. The saliva was goopier than typical saliva. The quill poison had already been studied, so there wasn't much to do with those besides take notes on the natural shapes the quills had. That could be used in the future to divine which scout armor stood a better chance against them.

The saliva content suggested that the Kremlins weren't used to regular amounts of and/or large bodies of water. The diet meant that their systems lacked certain elements. Kremlins had shown, in previous studies, that they were group hunters. They would ball up together with a few or many of their own to create a wrecking ball of furry vengeance. They had a natural cohesion and teamwork effort. How did one beat that? Crowd control.

The typical measures would call for sonic weaponry. Although it would probably work, another solution would be to use water as a weapon. Water was used plenty of times as a means of dispersal, whether biologically or in a law enforcement manner. Water would probably provide a more effective means to disrupt the momentum of a solid ball of Kremlins. Perhaps a combined effort of both?

Of course, these two methods would only work in the capacity of control. The real goal was to find a way to quickly and efficiently kill the buggers. Hmm...

A dispersable toxin to kill off the kremlin population? That was the real magic trick he was here to pull off.

He took a couple of hours to study the kremlin specimen. It came awake halfway through, but was still groggy enough to not put up too much of a fight. It was when the Kremlin started biting, fighting and posturing his quills in earnest at his gloves that he pulled out and away. He had gathered enough info. The kremlins were, essentially, mammals. As such, their biological structure followed a lot rules that similar mammals had, minus the ability to resist their own fatigue toxin.

The ideal way of getting a new toxin into their system was to have them come to it. Kremlins very much preferred meat. As such, protein and/or artificial flavor/scent would need to be employed. Could it be as simple as mixing a type of strong rat poison in with a meat spray? Could be. It was time to go to work on this theory...but not before lunch.
