DESCRIPTION
While the LCAR Mk I was meet with almost universal love by the Legionnaires of the GFL their were some Legionnaires who also wanted the choice between the LCAR and something a little more substantial and hard-hitting. It was with this in mind that the Legion's armorers began working on a design to meet this criteria put forth.

The design they ended up producing was a mix of both the BR-01 from Hekler'Kok and the LCAR Mk I from their previous assault rifle. The rifle they ended up with was a battle rifle like the BR-01 with some of the features of the LCAR mixed in to bring it up to Legion standards. They decided on up-gunning the rifle to be chambered in 7.62x63, giving it more power and range over the BR-01.

With the basic design out of the way they began the next step and began to choose the materials that would be used in the rifles construction. They decided to keep the materials completely unchanged as they were more than adequate for what was needed. Hekler'Kok's trademark Alusteel-Titanium Alloy was used for the receiver and internal workings due to its high durability with relative low weight.

The barrel was made of Quadanium Steel due to its heavier and denser nature helping with both accuracy and head absorption respectively, said barrel was also lined with Chromium to reduce wear and tear. The grip, stock and handguard were constructed out of Plastoid to further reduce weight while still retaining durability. Finally the entire rifle was given a good decent coating of CeramiCoat to give it a degree of protection from the elements.

When it came to the features implemented into the rifle many were carried over from the LCAR to the new rifle while some had to be adjusted to fit the much more beefy rifle. The fully automatic fire mode used on the LCAR was replaced with a two round burst because of the new rifles uncontrollable recoil on full auto. The double recoil buffer was upgraded to a triple recoil buffer to better help deal with the higher recoil output. The 1 in 7 twist rate barrel was replaced with a 1 in 12 twist rate barrel to make the rifle more accurate with the larger round now used.

With the rifle now fully realized they constructed a testing batch and put them through the wringer when it came to tests. They test fired it in a wide variety of climates from deserts to jungles to urban sprawls. They filled it with mud, sand, dust and water and shot it, almost till the barrel of the rifle melted from the sheer temperature of it. When all the battery of tests were done they were satisfied with the state of the rifle and began a production batch for field testing.

When the Legionnaires began using the rifle the quickly loved it as it could easily stop just about any sentient target they encountered. There were a few complaints such as the lack of automatic fire capability but many saw this as a trade off for a rather accurate and powerful battle rifle. With this stamp of approval the rifle was designated as the Legion Combat Battle Rifle Mk I and rolled out en mass to the Legion.
