STANDARD FEATURES

Life Support

ADVANCED SYSTEMS

STRENGTHS
  • Compact and Portable!: It is almost small enough for a freighter to keep one in storage, it is made to be easily stored in times of emergency or for large carrier groups.
  • Nimble and Quick!: While not the fastest around, they are still quick for the average starfighter, making them deadly in swarms.
WEAKNESSES
  • No Hyperdrive: It must rely on carrier ships to move it around. If the carrier ship is destroyed or has retreated, the pilot is forced to fight to the end or surrender.
  • No Ejection System: It must either survive a crash landing or hope it can stop the starfighter to get out of it manually when damaged. There is no pull out switch.
  • Very Little Armament: It has to rely on others to take down much larger targets as it was only designed to fight against other starfighters.
  • Scramjet Overheat: While it is rare to overheat in combat in space, in atmospheric it is quite common. When in atmospheric, the speed rating changes to High to avoid destroying the L-Wing on accident due to stressing the engines.
  • SLAM Overload!: It is not made to use the SLAM engine for long periods of time, it may literally shake the L-Wing apart!
  • Poke Through the Hull!: It is very paper thin, something that was given out towards the idea of portability. In addition, it has no shields so the pilot is reminded they are expendable and they can die easily so dodge everything
  • Top Portion Unseeable!: It must rely on their radar to see past the front of back of the starfighter as the design overhang prevents the pilot from looking around!
  • Overhang Hit!, Breaking Apart!: The circle in the middle is all that keeps the starfighter together, if it breaks, the whole design falls apart mid-flight and will cause a cascading explosion in a matter of seconds unless powered down.
DESCRIPTION
When one asks if a contender for the old aging TIE/PI Interceptor was to be told, Haon Hafey merely shrugged and went back to his drawings. The Tie Pillager as it was more well known, was virtually now extinct and had very little use aside from being the compliment to the TIE/VA Starfighter, AKA the Vanguard. As time went on, some things began to bother Haon Hafey in the back of his mind, not knowing at the time his mind was more or less a large processor. By the time of his transference into his new body, he focused on his processors to discover what bothered him so much and it became clear, he felt that the design was not fully into its own.

Taking notes from older designs and his wish to create something the Galactic Alliance itself would most likely be surprised at, Haon Hafey got to work with old U-Wing designs along with other letter named starfighters. Combining what he believed was the best of many worlds, he started to take shape a starfighter that was a hybrid of what TIE/PI and TIE/VA was fully capable of. Creating a portability like the TIE/VA while keeping a majority of the speed much like the TIE/PI, things that were also weaknesses started to rear its ugly head. Before long, the ejection system was scrapped like last time, only due to the fact that it lowers down to get the pilot into the chair before raising up, making it impossible to eject quickly.

Other noted problems came quickly as several tests indicated how slim the hull plating was, making it very easy to destroy if one was not careful and requiring maintenance on nearly every flight. The circle like overhang was added in to prevent the starfighter from collapsing onto itself, as well as letting the wings fold inward upon landing for easier storage though it came at the cost of it being connected to virtually everything, meaning if destroyed or even damaged, it would end up destroying the L-Wing in the process. When shipped out to the Brotherhood of the Maw, it was noted to be given to less experienced pilots or better yet, people they do not want. It was worth mentioning however that in swarms, it was quite effective, though the Brotherhood of the Maw would not find these so easily.
