STRENGTHS
- Sturdy: The shield’s materials are very sturdy and provide protection against a number of attack methods.
- Convenient: The shield can fold up or deploy in less than a second, making it easy to store and quick to engage when needed
- Multiple grips: The backplate in which it collapses is electromagnetic, allowing the user to mount it to a surface or to a vambrace for a steady grip. It also has a center grip in the backplate when the user wishes to get more sporty with how they use the handle.
- Stand: Also integrated into the center is a collapsing stand that allows the user to set it on the ground as improvised cover.
- Mechanical: Purely a mechanical design, no amount of EMP or ion attacks will be able to disable the mechanism in charge of operating everything.
- Improvised weapon: Collapsed or deployed, it’s a hefty slab of metal, making for a very good blunt force weapon if needed.
- Heavy: The shield is made of hefty materials, it’s not going to be light to lug around
- Not that big: The shield can only cover so much of the user, and only in one direction.
- Jamming: While rare, there is a possibility for the mechanism to jam after a lot of damage sustained by the shield.
- Force: Apart from sheer rugged design, the shield offers no protection to force attacks.
A symbol for the clan. The shield is made primarily for members of clan Krayt for general use in a variety of situations. Whether it be in open war or the confined spaces of a ship, the user will always have a solid form of defense no matter where they are.
To save on space, the shield is able to collapse in on itself for transport and the electromagnetic backplate can mount on just about any metallic surface, whether it is a user’s vambrace or the back of their armour… if the user doesn’t mind lugging around a heavy slab of metal...
