STRENGTHS
- Multipurpose Battlefield Armor: The Mark IV - Kraken Armor fills a multipurpose battlefield role and is rated against Energy and Kinetic weaponry at a high level. It is also highly resistant to Sonic, Thermal, Electrical and Ion attacks thanks to the various systems integrated into it. Operators relying on their Kraken Armor can rest assured it is reliable and rated against almost anything they might encounter. Other Armors can and do have higher ratings against specific weaponry but only Kraken Armor covers as many potential threats as possible.
- No Medic, no problem: A Mark IV Biorestorative Underlay integrated into the armor actually heals operators during combat. Dependent on the severity of the damage the underlay can heal soldiers in moments or minutes ensuring it requires multiple shots or severe damage to put them down for good. The Mark IV also bolsters their resilience ensuring it actually takes more to wound the soldiers wearing the armor.
- Hulk Mode: A Strength Enhancement system built into the armor augments the operators physique. While they wear the armor their strength is safely doubled and pushing safe limits may even be tripled. Wookies aren't the only things that can pull arms off anymore.
- A Ghost: An Optical Camouflage System bends light and can transform Operators into 'Ghosts'. Invisible at a distance and shimmering silhouettes in close quarters. Night Vision is ineffective however Operators still appear on the Thermal and Ultraviolet spectrum.
- Hope you're not afraid of Heights: It has a Repulsor Package, need to know more? Jump out of a skyscraper window and harmlessly float your way to the ground and you'll know everything that you need to.
- Integrated Weaponry: Sports a range of integrated weaponry from a retractable Vibroblade to a Repulsor ensuring even when you are disarmed you are never unarmed.
WEAKNESSES
- Not Lightsaber friendly: Despite all its advantages the Armor still isn't rated well against lightsabers. It'll survive a light blow or a glancing blow but any sort of solid contact will cut through it like it will cut through the average Stormtrooper.
- No Radiation, no thank you: The Armor is not rated for a radioactive warzone nor against radioactive weaponry. The Rebreather will keep operators from breathing in radioactive dust but all other bets are off.
- CryoBan is CryoBad: While it is rated against a host of 'environmental' threats from Extreme Heat to Electrical damage CryoBan is very effective against the armor. As Duraplast makes up the bult of the plating extreme cold simply makes it crack and break until the Operator beneath is exposed.
- Corrosives should Corros-Off!: Duraplast isn't very durable agaisnt corrosive or acidic substances. They'll eat at the armor until they dissolve it completely making them unfriendly at best and deadly more often than not.
DESCRIPTION
Modeled after the Mark II - Kraken Armor and the prototype Mark III Armor, Mark IV Kraken Armor is considered a breakthrough by many in the Black Armory and the Operators they outfit on the battlefield.
Composed primarily of Duraplast Plating and an Armorply Underlay the Mark IV is rated against almost everything that might been seen in a warzone more common threats like Energy and Kinetic to more exotic ones such as Sonics and Electrical. Some consider the Mark IV to be a Jack-of-all-Trades Armor but the reality is that it's much more than that offering higher than average ratings of protection in most cases.
Integrated equipment includes Electric Shielding, a Heat Exchange system, Biorestorative Underlay, Strength Enhancement Systems, a Repulsor Package and Optical Camouflage. It's finished in a Black Matte Gloss sprayed over the duraplast plating to make it more dififcult to see in low light environments when the camouflage system isn't activated.
Due to the high cost of creating the armor it's production is limited and Black Armory sells almost exclusively to the Hutt Space Consortiums Top Enforcers and Elite Mercenaries though individual suits of armor may be purchased by singular buyers.
