Image Source: I'm not good at finding these so no picture.

Intent: To create a specialized form of Armor that provides protection against electrical attacks
Development Thread: N/A
Manufacturer: Black Armory Ltd.
Model: Mk. II
Affiliation: Open Market (Pre approved for sale to those authorized by Black Armory CEO; Black Sun affiliates have pre authorization)
Modularity: Minor
Production: Minor Production
Material: Duraplast, Armorweave

Description: Mk. II Kraken Armor is designed from duraplast to keep it relatively light and flexible overtop an added layer of armorweave beneath it. Duraplast itself is a highly resistant material used in many armors and affords the Kraken Armor a moderate level of protection mainly resistant against medium to light weaponry and light explosives. The Armorweave underneath the duraplast plates augments protection to a variable degree without compromising the lightweight nature of the armor.

Kraken Armor is made to offer lightweight protection that doesn't inhibit the speed or maneuverability of the individual wearing it when compared to much heavier armors. The obvious drawback being that heavy weapons tend to shred the armor after multiple shots. Though it was not intended to provide such due to the duraplast being a main component of Kraken Armor it also has a very strong resistance to lightsabers and their attacks.

Helmets come with a basic loadout including comms and low light vision but can be modified for more advanced loadouts. Often the Duraplast plates on the armor are colored black allowing them to blend in more easily in the darkness but the armor can come in other colors.

At first glance Kraken Armor appears to be little more than another set of Medium Armor however what makes it unique is its ability to absorb electricity up to and including electrical attacks. Initially the idea was adapted after the reverse engineering of Stun Cloaks. The Armorweave underlay of the Kraken Armor is insulated with micro polymers that are stimulated by a minor electrical pulse distributed by a power cell located on the armor. These polymers absorb electrical discharge the same as the insulation on a Stun Cloak keeps its wearer from being electrocuted when the cloak is activated. Kraken Armor can absorb minor bursts of electrical output all the way up to the force lightning created by Sith and other Force Users causing it to be viable protection against such attacks. Of course it only works for so long.

Classification: Antiblaster, Antiballistics, Antielectrical
Weight: 8kg
Quality: 7 (Blasters and Ballistics); 3 (Lightsabers)
Special Features:
Electrical Insulation: Kraken Armor is insulated against electrical attacks. It can withstand a virtual unlimited amount of minor electrical discharge and a limited amount of more powerful discharge up to and including force lightning. Against powerful electrical attacks Kraken Armor can, on average, absorb up to three such discharges meaning it could absorb force lightning a total of three times before the polymers in the armor were no longer capable of absorbing the electricity. Against a continuous electrical attack of high voltage Kraken Armor can withstand the electricity for an average of 30 seconds to 1 minute. The armor can withstand lower, continuous, voltages for extended amounts of time but nothing beyond 5 minutes as the extended exposure will cause the polymers insulating the armor to burn out.

Edited with these changes....
