- Like all products of Byblos Star Drives, the Doomtreader Class C comes equipped with a Hypermatter Annihilator System, allowing it to create an enormous amount of power for its various systems and sub-systems which means it can operate for far longer than normal personal transport crafts of the same classification currently in operation across the galaxy.
- Formidable Vessel
- Despite being listed as a personalized transport, the Doomtreader Class C is a formidable vessel coming standard equipped with military grade deflector shields able to withstand much more punishment than normal deflector shields. Along with the shields, the vessel has a vast array of weaponry to defend itself with.
- Mass-Production Model
- Like many products produced by Byblos Star Drives, the Doomtreader Class C is a mass production model meaning that parts and repair kits are easy enough to come by on the open-market. This gives it a cutting edge against the other personalized transport models of the same classification currently in use as each vessel lost in combat can be easily replaceable.
- Low Maneuverability
- In order to make room for additional armaments and shielding arrays across the transport model, Byblos Star Drives had to drop some of the maneuverability standards common place amongst their products. While this does not seriously affect the Doomtreader's ability to move out of harms way in a dog fighting scenario, it does considerably raise the risk of heavy firepower reaching its hull with a well timed shot.
- Low Speed
- The size of the personalized transport model happens to decrease the overall speed across the board, making the Doomtreader Class C unlikely to catch up with faster vessels of the starfighter classification. This can pose a problem to bounty hunters and mercenaries who use this class to capture targets as their quarry has the possibility to escape.
As the Galaxy continues to spiral into one war after another with the most recent conflicts being the Alliance-Enclave War, the Sith-Mandalorian Conflict, and the Outer Rim Campaigns in 900 ABY. In the vast expanse of said galaxy, factions are locked in an intense battle for scarce resources across a dozen different sectors and sub-sectors of the galactic frontier. As a result, bounty hunting contracts have become increasingly popular amongst these governments, presenting a golden opportunity for starship manufacturers to dominate that market.
Recognizing this development, Byblos Star Drives took the initiative to develop a new breed of bounty hunting vessels that could meet the soaring demand. Introducing the KR-TB Doomtreader Class C to the Galactic Market, they aimed to offer a practical and cost-effective alternative to other personalized transports.
The Doomtreader Class C comes equipped with high level armament and defensive systems designed to engage with even the toughest of vessels, which might range from pirate cruisers to custom patrols corvettes which often patrol the Galactic Trade Lanes while the major Galactic Governments are distracted with open warfare. Although the main role of this vessel is to support the bounty hunting scene and not engage in direct fleet combat although it could be utilized for such a role if one was tactically smart enough.
There are two things that can be considered lacking on the mass-production model, the fact that it has a lower maneuverability than some of the other products by Byblos Star Drives which can impair the operators ability to dodge incoming heavier laser fire using evasive action. The second concern is that it has a low speed rating compared to other personalized transport models, making it unable to catch up with faster vessels of the starfighter classification.
