PERSONALITY:
Kolyri is independent and stubborn. The majority of the time she knows what she wants, and she is at her best when she is pursuing it. She is tenacious and focused in this regard. Being the wilful individual that she is, she can rarely be swayed from an opinion that has been formed or a task that she has already set herself.

She is quick to temper and is very capable of holding grudges. Although her cool-down period can be short (depending on the extent of the slight dealt to her), she will never forget a person who has wronged her in the past. Her tongue is sharp, and she often engages it without engaging her brain first. She can be cutting, sometimes hurtful, but this is a knee-jerk reaction to those who have hurt her, or might threaten to do so.

She can be clever. When not a victim of her own temper, she has a methodical thought process and is logical in her planning. She can be cunning when the situation requires it of her. Kolyri enjoys finding solutions to problems and will spend however long needed when considering how to further her cause.

She is insatiably curious. Almost anything and everything can pique her curiosity at any time, and she has a child-like, innocent wonder about her when confronted with something new or something she hadn't previously experienced. This curiosity extends too to interactions and relationships outside of the familial. She doesn't completely understand the concept of long-term romantic partners.

She has a rather dark sense of humour and has a tendency to laugh at inappropriate intervals. Despite the need to stay subtle and stealthy, try as she might, Kol sometimes finds it difficult to control her outbursts and reactions. This could be due to nervousness when confronted or when among those who might make her feel uncomfortable, or most probably it could be because she's just a little odd.

She is essentially a decent enough person, though she goes to lengths not to appear so. Often she thinks that being good, or being hesitant to do something, shows weakness. She can, however, be a good friend to those she trusts, and she is loyal. She can be good company when caught in the right mood, she can be wicked in the pursuit of a good time and she is always the first to laugh at a joke, even if she doesn't get it.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
  • Strategist - the devil is in the details.
  • Resourceful - I want it; I'll get it.
  • Attitude - this doesn't belong to you, so I'll take it off your hands.
  • Controlling - not large, but very much in charge.

APPEARANCE:
Kolyri is small in stature and slim in physique. She favours close-fitting, dark clothing, flat, black Corellian leather boots and a short jacket. Hidden on her person at all times are various portable toolkits, while from her belt an energy baton hangs.

She is pale, with a dusting of freckles and green eyes. Among her most distinguishing features are her red hair and eyebrows, along with a series of tattooed symbols down her spine.

BIOGRAPHY:
Kolyri Dace is a long, long, far-removed descendant of the Hynestian Royal Family; specifically Queen Rinetta Gan, formerly of Hynestia, relocated successfully with her people to Livno III. The monarchy has long since been disbanded and declared an outdated method of rule on Livno, however the Dace and Gan families both, to this day, still enjoy slightly larger, more opulent accommodations, though less favourable attitudes. Any goodwill won with the Lynesse people some eight centuries ago has faded as the felinoid inhabitants of the tundra planet began to resent the Hynestians and their inability to adapt completely.

Told as a child that her father was merely some "inconsequential off-worlder", Kolyri was raised by her mother and maternal grandmother, in a household ruled by women. The grandeur of generations past was obvious in some aspects of her life during those early years, though one would not have had to look too closely at their underground abode to note the cracks beneath the shiny sheen. Kolyri grew up hearing tales about the great queens of old, and by the age of four could recite the entire tale of the Empire's invasion of Hynestia, and her people's subsequent pilgrimage to their frosty new home. They had lost much, but had kept a hold of each other.

The stories that most interested the young Kolyri, however, were not those of battle and great sacrifice, but those of the many lost treasures, confiscated by the Imperial forces and lost to the galaxy through sales and resales, thefts and inheritances. She maintained an interest in these artefacts, and eventually it grew into an obsession. She made an immature vow to find and return everything that had been lost to the once great family; a promise made in the flush of stupid youth, but would grow into a career as she grew into her confidence.

Kolyri took the opportunity to leave Livno III as soon as she could. On the pretext of receiving further education, she travelled from the wild space of her home system, back toward the Inner Rim and Colony systems, where she would have been raised had Hynestia not been threatened. She would spend some time at the Lorellan Academy of Dance, where she'd located Sceptre of Jin before hopping a transport to pastures newer and unknown.

The years followed granted her experience and a place on a rag-tag crew of career criminals. Thieves, smugglers, slicers and hunters alike, she ran in unsavoury circles, sometimes rich, other times poor, and only once returning to Livno with recovered wares. Her family, who had since come to realise the nature of Kolyri's business, issued her with an ultimatum: she could stay and take her place in the political structure of her home planet, or if she refused, would not be welcomed back into the fold. Not truly realising the fear that prompted their anger toward her, Kol left to continue what she believed was the only work she'd ever truly be good at. On her way out, she stole the ancient family barge.

The Lucent Sun was originally a civilian courier ship, used in the early days of their relocation, and not kept to a good working standard. Kolyri updated the small ship, and an upgrade or two later, took on a small crew of her own. She now specialises in the "reclamation" of "lost" cultural artefacts and treasures, and has gained a small reputation for herself amongst collectors and nobility alike. That was, until recently, when a disgruntled former teammate made off with her ship and has neither been seen nor heard from in two months. That's right, her partner stole her ship and its cargo. Her journey begins lost amongst the stars, looking for her Sun and a bounty hunter to bring her Zevran Taren's head on a silver platter.
