- Age: 1000
- Force Sensitivity: None
- Species: Chi-Oni (Atrisian)
- Appearance: Kirano is a figure carved from the dark and stone of the hollow world. Tall and powerfully built, her frame is a dense lattice of thick, corded muscle that moves with the coiled economy of a predator. Her skin is the color of aged porcelain, bleached by a lifetime under the artificial sun of Chitai, and possesses an almost waxy, cool texture that lacks the flushed warmth of surface-dwellers. Her long, jet-black hair falls in a severe, unadorned sheet past her shoulders. Her eyes are a deep, unsettling violet, with pupils that dilate and contract strangely in response to light shifts, revealing a visual spectrum tuned for perpetual twilight. She is rarely seen outside her full robed armor intricate, matte-black plates layered over dark, sound-muffling fabrics and never without the subtle, familiar weight of multiple weapons. Even at rest, her hands maintain a loose, practiced curl around where a hilt would be.

- Skills: Elite close-quarters combat specialist; expert in heavy armor mobility; silent movement in echoless environments
- Personality: Kirano presents a wall of stoic, unbreachable silence. Her humor, when it surfaces, is a dry, gallows-affair a low, gravelly chuckle delivered after a morbid observation that makes surface-dwellers flinch. She is fiercely, almost ancestrally loyal to both the Chitai Empress and Princess Junko, a loyalty that manifests in quiet, constant vigilance. She has a tactile, unspoken affect for her fellow handmaidens; a brush of a sleeve, a shared look that communicates entire tactical assessments, or a heavy hand on a shoulder to ground them before a body-double assignment. When escorting handmaidens disguised as Junko, she moves in their personal shadow, her senses tuned to the subtle differences in their gait, scent, and breath, ready to kill the moment the illusion is pierced.
- Weapon of Choice: Integrated blade-and-blaster combat. She closes distance using covering fire from her Bladeblaster, then transitions to the brutal intimacy of her Kunoichi Blades or hand-to-hand.
- Combat Function: The heavy anchor of the Handmaidens. She engages at range to suppress and identify threats, then collapses distance to become an immovable object of focused violence. She leverages her dense musculature and augmented frame for crushing grapples, shield-breaking blows, and to physically interpose herself between Junko and harm. She is not a fencer; she is an avalanche.
- Force Abilities: N/A
- Princess Troubles: Heir to the Chitai royal family with combat training of the highest quality is blades and martial arts.
- UV Light Sensitivity (Detailed): Their bodies react to light as a physical pressure.
- Red/Natural Sunlight: The most dangerous spectrum. It feels like a constant, low-grade fever; her skin prickles, her muscles ache with a deep fatigue, and nausea coils in her gut after more than an hour of exposure without full protective robes.
- Yellow/Artificial Light: Neutral but draining. Prolonged exposure (days) under standard station lighting causes a slow, creeping lethargy and a metallic taste in her mouth, requiring immersion in darkness to purge.
- Blue/Medical or Cold Light: The only tolerable surface spectrum. It feels like a cool compress on her senses, sharpening her already keen vision temporarily. Withdrawal from blue light after more than six hours causes violent tremors, optical seizures (brief, painful flashes of visual static), and deep bone shakes that leave her vulnerable.
- Physical Powerhouse: Her muscle density is nearer to starship armor than organic tissue. Her bones creak with a stone-like solidity. She falls from heights that would shatter a normal human and rolls to her feet, more annoyed than injured. Her thousand-year lifespan is a testament to this ancient, hardy lineage.
- Specialized Equipment/Augmentations: Hoshi's extensive implants grant her physical and defensive capabilities in PvP encounters. The Organic Shielding Implant provides a full-body personal shield. Combined with the Zenkai Implant Package, she gains dramatically enhanced muscle density and strength, Beskar-level bone durability, sub-dermal armor resistant to blades/shrapnel/energy, ultra-fast reaction times and movement tracking via advanced nerve sheaths and multi-spectral Hawkeye vision, rapid wound clotting/healing (amplified by efficient bacta/biofoam processing and toxin-to-stim conversion), near-immunity to environmental extremes/toxins/stuns, and extended vacuum/high-pressure survival. These augmentations make her exceptionally hard to kill or disable, allow sustained peak performance without fatigue, and enable superior close-quarters adaptability, speed, and resilience against physical and energy-based assaults.
- Weaponmaster's Flaw: Her education is a blade's edge razor-sharp in warfare, dull as a river stone elsewhere. She cannot decipher complex poetry, has no head for politics beyond "friend or enemy," and her first solution to any problem is to remove its cause with extreme prejudice. She is naive to the long cons and soft deceptions of courtly life.
- Hormone Dependency: Her century-spanning augmentations require a delicate hormonal balance. She receives monthly subcutaneous implants that, when nearing depletion, cause mood swings (uncharacteristic melancholy or rage), thermoregulation issues, and a dull, persistent ache in her joints she refuses to acknowledge.
- Heat Regulation (Sensory Detail): Her body, so efficient in the cold and vacuum, is a poor radiator in high heat. Over 35°C, her sweat glands clog, her skin flushes an angry, mottled grey, and her thoughts begin to slow. Over 40°C, she suffers from disorientation, auditory hallucinations (the phantom sound of Chitai's dripping water), and eventually, heat-shock seizures if not rapidly cooled.
- UV Light (Narrative Weakness): Beyond the physical effects, sunlight is psychologically oppressive. It feels loud. The unfiltered chaos of photons makes her feel exposed, skinned, and hypervigilant in a painful, unsustainable way. She craves the cool, quiet weight of total darkness the way a surface-dweller craves air.
- Augmentation Overload Vulnerability: The price of her power is a ravenous metabolism. After a major injury where her self-repair systems activate, she must consume approximately 10,000 calories within an hour or face a catastrophic crash. Symptoms include: sudden, boneless weakness, fine motor tremors that make reloading impossible, blurred vision, and a profound, narcoleptic-like need to sleep. An ion weapon hit feels like having her blood replaced with hot sand, and a second hit while her shields are down can cause her Zenkai implants to enter a painful, involuntary reboot, leaving her blind, deaf, and paralyzed for up to thirty seconds.
Born in the depths of Atrisia, in the hollow world of Chitai as the heir to the throne. Kirano spent much of their early life doing as the Chi Oni did... they trained to fight and lived lavishly with their attendants coming to them. Kirano being one of the best in terms of doing just that. An expert fighter with a blade and as the firstborn son she was more than secured a position. Able to wear the finest jewels on the robes but something was wrong. Her sister didn't seem to be upset or uneasy. Kirano wanting to find something to make herself happy that wasn't such a bore and eventually things changed. Renouncing her position so that the title of empress would be given to her sister who was better suited politically among the lords and ladies od the Oni court. Kirano was her number one heir and bodyguard.
The years allowed her to change though going from the prince to the princess and bodyguard. Enhancing her skills with a weapon and handling problems that came to Atrisia from the surface. Plagues and attacks that endangered them but not the Oni... then they stumbled upon the pathway down used to grab slaves and workers for the fields. Kiraano was among the first teams heading up to stop them and the group they discovered was an exploration team.. a troublesome team they would bring nothing but.... however she led them to the empress her sister who would judge them and decide. Kirano wanted to kill them but it wouldn't do good for them to disappear as she learned it was the princess of this new Atrisia which meant others would come and they would try and fight and then the Oni would fight and war wouldn't be good among themselves.
Her sister was.... amicable about things and sped the princess and her retinue on their way with Kirano being offered as this was a chance. The princess was convincing in some cases allowing them to come back to the surface and step out of the shadows... it wasn't such a bad idea if one might be able to think about it. So Kirano would maybe be able to bridge the two groups on Atrisia. It wasn't much she thought.... it was going to likely be a problem if she was unlucky because these topworlders to her were not worth the effort but.... her sisters orders were clear. Then she spent time with them on the trip and the infectious positivity of Miyoung Iwata was to much as she mostly rolled her eyes and the other bodyguard Tripitaka was quite a sight. She worked with them in the princesses travels and became one of her handmaidens who worked primarily as a bodyguard.
The years with Junko were largely uneventful... for major things. ONce she got used to the sunlight on Atrisia's surface using her robes and full armor she managed to have it be barable. Kirano would work with Junko more though in the years Working with Latyuo and Supisy when they came to work for the princess in protecting and investigating the colonies. News of other things in the galaxy she was able to take back and send to her sister to update her as well as prepare, as the Horselords could prove the most difficult if they tried to fight the Oni... it would be quite a sight to see and based on the reports from the princess... their god sounded like it might have been an Oni if it was the first one of them. Kirano would stay with Junko when she went on her big diplomatic date with Amalia on Alderaan leaving the system for the first time.
She looked at the chances that this could bring in most cases to be worth a few decades before she likely returned to Chitai to go back to her old life while her sister continued to rule and the people might establish more trade with the surface... they couldn't pretend to not be part of the world now but they could likely help this Commonwealth as they lived a great span longer then them.
