Kingdom Come

The Rift was a place that Matsu had been in plenty, to work with many of the Aing-Tii on a number of projects and she always enjoyed it. her children enjoyed being out here with them and all of it could become a very educational experience if you let it. So when she had several projects that they might be able to help with and rumors had come from Rosewood that there was a chance the rift had remains of the kingdom of dreams. That was something that she could look at and find inpressive. A ship like that was something of legends and she was all for spreading and seeing about legend compared to the facts they worked to ground themselves in normally. Matsu herself was asking one of the most knowledgable women in the galaxy that she knew to come here and work to give a chance. She might be able to help combine with the Aing-Tii here their technologies with a way to try and recreate the kingdoms drives so that they would be able to use them on ships or even just a single ship if they could do it. "Domino, I am sending you coordinates to the Rift. I received a message from some friends within the Aing-Tii that have discovered something that might be of interest and I could use your back up and aid." She sent it with the coordinates while leaving on the main ship. All of the works that had been going into their new ships and she still preferred the Botany Bay for exploring despite it being slow and bulky.

Domino had been busy, first there was work non-stop, then she'd fallen ill (she didn't even know how that had been possible) then she'd had to catch up with work again.... Suffice to say, the Twi'lek hadn't caught up with her messages in quite awhile. Click, click, click, click, delete. Click, click, click, click, click, delete. Clickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclick-no wai- scroll up, click. Something from Matsu that wasn't more of her automated spam about the latest of her designs to roll into production. "The heck is the Rift?" Domino knew of several including one on Tython, but not of one associated with the Aing-Tii. She respected their technology and force capabilities and had even traded most of her company for a holocron on such, but hadn't ever made an effort to visit them, mainly because she suspected that they wouldn't get along to well.

Hmm, well time to put that theory to the test. After launching the Sangromancer, she set in the coordinates Matsu had sent her and hopped she wasn't too late to help. But what to do in the meantime? She was doing this mostly on a whim and the hope that it'd grant her a deeper understanding of Aing-Tii techniques, but truth was she was mostly expecting it to be boring work in a lab or something like the last time Matsu had asked her over. After adding a few new movies to her datapad and sticking the spare battery on the charger her eye came to rest on the garment fabricator she'd been tinkering with. Well, she already had whim, might as well add a bit of foppery....

By the time the Sangromancer had exited hyperspace several hours later everything was ready.

Matsu was there when she was looking at it so that she could stay around here in space. Hovering and preparing herself for anything... Namely she was looking for how they would come out and be able to check out some fo the newer and cooler things. Sasori thanks to Phenex had been making a lot fo things for themselves. Turning it into packages with a multitude of systems for a ship that made them highly modular as well as a little larger sure but they would also be able to fit more into it. The exclusive packages for tractor/pressors, a recovery system that functioned in case of attacks and they were working on astromechs. Here in the ship she had some of the other things that they had made to travel around on worlds so they could go off and recover possibly parts of the Kingdom itself to reverse engineer and add into it the Aing-Tii technologies where they could. "Master Ike, something is coming out of hyperspace." Matsu looked out the view screen and the attention was there. A familiar ship she knew well and there was something else they might be able to talk about and plan but she was uncertain in the end. "That is Domino, make sure she is welcomed here and hail her. The screen crackled to life with the communications screen. "Domino, this is Matsu. Welcome to the realm of the Aing-Tii."

"Erm, thank you." Domino replied over the voice-comm. Now that she was dressed she was beginning to have second thoughts but it was too late to back out now. Not that she couldn't change. Tempting thought, but she shook it off, it'd be fun once she got into the roll and got going. Bringing power to the engines, she sent her small ship surging towards the Botany Bay. "So, just what are we looking at? And do you want to dock up or meet somewhere further along?" She asked hoping for some more information than what she'd received in Matsu's rather cryptic message.

Matsu was looking at it and she spoke while turning over with her thoughts and she could feel it. The force here was very different and species here within it knew how to use it in the twisting and turning. The rift was full of strange anomalies that could be a problem for them unless you had been trained how to use the force here. "This area of space is the Home of the Aing-Tii and their lifewell, it is a strange place for the force and they recovered the remains of the kingdom. A city ship that was able to fold space and travel through different dimensions as opposed to just traveling to hyperspace." She said it and she knew Domino was one of the beings interested in the rare and obscure but also something like this where they had managed to tech the Aing-Tii's abilities was something.

Well that explained the weird feeling she was getting from, well the Rift or Lifewell now that she could put a name to it. Running a search of her personal database for the 'kingdom' on a side console returned no results of any real interest. Seemed like this was something so obscure it wasn't even mentioned in one of the bulk-uploads she hadn't parsed through yet. "Sounds promising," she returned as the pilot droid brought her ship alongside Matsu's. "I'm still working through that holocron I got from you so I'm not to sure how much help I'll be, but I definitely agree that it's something to look into. You're still interested in the Neatherworld right? Think this will grant you easier access?"

Matsu said it with a small look as she closed her eyes, allowing the force energies of the Ta-Ree flow. She had learned how to tap into the power here so it wasn't as strange with a look on her face before she was moving and speaking. They were being joined by one of the larger Aing-Tii ships as it came out to escort them from the edge here. Matsu went towards the airlock sticking around with a few more ideas on her mind when she got to speak. "The Kingdom of Dreams." She said it when out the view ports there was the remains of the disc shaped ship, brought together with some other pieces to show it for everyone who came. The rift was making colors all around as Matsu moved and spoke. "One of the biggest thing within the rift is how they have learned to bend it, the anomalies here can be used with the force."

Domino watched as the Aing-Tii cruiser came to join them. At least she guessed it was a cruiser, it was hard to tell with the odd designs painted on it and the myriad of protrusions from the hull and the completely alien design from the galactic standard. She wasn't even sure if the Aing-Tii had military classifications for their ships. "Used with the Force how?" Domino asked as she turned her attention to the Kingdom of Dreams. A rather fanciful name for a ship, it looked more like a city under a dome to Domino, or had at one point. The name combined with its current state actually reminded her of another city, one from fiction. The residents and visitors had been required to wear special goggles at all times to prevent the inhabitants from going blind at their city's own splendor. Having been carved from a giant emerald, the light of the sun reflected so many times was dangerous. Eventually the protagonists had removed their eye-protection and discovered the secrete, the city was really just painted white and the goggles had tinted lenses which gave the appearance of an emerald city. At least that's how Domino remembered the story having only heard it once as a child a very long time ago. She frowned, weird that it'd stuck with her.

Matsu looked at her with a grin on her face while she held her hand out and the air rippled. Less interesting to see but she pointed to where it could come out. "The rift causes distortions in space and using the force here allows you to tap into it. It is why for those who are skilled they can learn how fold the space from here and travel through it. Outside of this region of space it isn't as easy but it is possible. Smae with learning how to ride that stream of temporal energies and distortions to learn skills such as flow walking." Matsu said it while she stopped with a small look though when the ship was leading them closer towards a station that was just like the ship. All odd angles and protrusions coming from it. Interest before they were preparing for it to dock. "You have met the Aing-Tii before though correct? Their greetings can be a little strange."

Having docked with Matsu's ship, Domino rolled her neck and loosened her shoulders up before opening the hatch and exiting. Her work with the garment fabricator had born fruit and she now stood dressed to the nines, at least if she were some captain on an ancient sea-fairing vessel. A tight purple waistcoat ensconced her upper body while knee length lavender breeches covered her legs, and snow-white stockings ran down to her shoes, a prominent gold buckle affixed to each. A light blue cravat circled her throat and tucked in behind the waistcoat while a red sash wrapped around her waist peaked out from underneath. Over it all she wore a light cream colored coat that reached to the middle of her calve. Its leading edges were pinned back along the trailing length and chest, leaving it open and displaying the lining which was colored somewhere between the breeches and waistcoat. Over the lining, the black cuffs and collar, and along the trim lay silver brocading that matched the buttons of her waistcoat. Golden epaulets covered her shoulders and paid compliment to the pocket closures and stays of the overcoat.

"I can honestly say both that I haven't and that I won't be the only one finding things such." Domino replied as she finally came face-to-face with the human again. Or was it near-human? Domino had never really figured that part out about her friend and it'd never really mattered to her, truth be told.

Mats gave her a small look as she was standing there, prepared for anything that could happen but they were going to get to meet here. The Aing-Tii were well among some fo the strangest but she could handle them. Much better then many other groups that she had seen. They at least were honest and honorable for a species and didn't scheme with every breath.... Standing there as she had changed appearing in the deep brown and grey white qel-droma robes was also a thing. The bindings changed to be somewhat a compression look for her. That she could and would be able to wear with it clinging to her body but still having a look of bulk. Matsu let it cling and cover up her neck and flow into her boots and gloves. The black coloring of them blendin in more before her mane of black hair set in a partial ponytail down her back leaving the two drops of hair to frame her face and have small bands of crystal on them as well. The formed ship was arriving to meet them while she stood there and the translation software was working on the Aing-ti language to let them dock with the ship.

"Oh magnificent," Domino breathed in admiration at the sight of the alien ship's approach. "The few holos I've seen fail to do them justice." Watching it, she forgot her irritation at the lack of any reaction to her form of dress. She'd been whimsical when she chose it and you don't reward people for that. At the same time, that was part of the game, seeing how ridiculous you could get before others were forced to stop ignoring it. "Any tips or advice on interactions? Stick to basic, will there be a translation unit, or would direct communication be best? Any do's and dont's?" Direct communication here meaning telepathy, something both the women there were quite decent at.
Matu's outfit brought an appreciative half-smile from Domino. It wasn't beyond her to admit that the woman knew how to look good and it was nice to see the blend of style and practicality with the attention to detail and color. These days she thought that too many just went for the most expensive silks cut in the most revealing fashion or jumped back to the most formal of dress, that the Atrisian developed her own showed a level of thinking beyond most and proved to Domino that she was at least an equal.

Matsu was looking at her and she was taking in more of the outfit with a small grin on her face. "Oh they are pretty good at accepting people but mostly it is keep your manners and telepathy is helpful as their speech also relies on pheromones that most of us can't detect." Matsu said it when she was standing there but spoke. "And you do look very nice." She said it as the doors opened and the large being loomed ahead. Enfolding himself a little to lean in and come through the airlock before rising back up to its full statue and the mouth was opened with its three pronged tongue before they were coming over and grasped the small jedi enclosing her in an embrace for a moment that felt like it was going to crush her and its tongues lapped around her head for a moment before she was put back down on the ground. "Thank you, it is nice to see you again." She wiped at some of the saliva with the sleeve of her robe for a moment but remained there as the greeting from the aing-tii came to the two of them.

When the alien exited the airlock Domino couldn't help the widening of her eyes on surprise. The Aing-Tii was much larger than expected and its greeting for Matsu much more enthusiastic. For her part, Domino gave a courteous, but not too deep, bow. She had thought to take the other woman's advice on communicating via telepathy, but on Matsu's use of Basic, decided to use that as well unless invited to touch upon the other's mind. "Thank you for this rare opportunity to visit your home and to study. I am honored."

Having a small look the two could be escorted through the ship, seeing everything that was being worked on and presented to them before Matsu had to smile a little to herself. They had been working on their own designs as she could see some parts of the prototype drive. She had sent things ahead and they went about constructing it, an initial testing device using the information from the kingdoms hyperdrive as well as existing Aing-Tii designs to bend and fold space for themselves. If they got it correct then moving would be something that could be done at blinding speeds but still appear across the galaxy. Some of the ideas were there from things that the first order had invented using sub hyperspace and from that pocket they could shift and go to a number of different places.

The tour was something that Domino quite enjoyed, wishing at several places that she'd brought a camera of some kind. Though she was also certain that such a thing wouldn't have been permitted. The two women might have been friends and even pseudo rivals at ship and technology development, but secrets were still supposed to be secrets. "Amazing that you've come this far, I'm still trying to grasp the principles behind the system myself, no where near concepting let alone prototyping." She pused, a slight frown tugging at the corners of her mouth. "Though maybe that's because I've been approaching this as purely a force technique, not an engineering one." The holocron she'd traded had talked about Skywalker and the other masters using the ability to move themselves. That she'd missed something so obvious worried her greatly. There was a great deal riding on her ability to replicate this for herself.

"It is a force technique.. mostly for them.. for the likes of us well sometimes we might need a little help. That is where the tales of the kingdom came in, it could slip through different dimensions just as easily and if we use it right. Might be able to use it for entering pocket dimensions for faster travel then most other hyperdrives or as a means to go to otherspace.... some other places which seem to being ripped asunder in the galaxy. Mirror dimensions, dark realms, alternate realities divided by a few choices." She said it before they were going now into a larger chamber of the ship. THe debris from the large ship was there in pieces and what could be reconstructed for them to check out. "THis though might not even work, if we can use it correctly and set it up well maybe on small personal ships but doubtful it would be something for dozens or even hundreds."

Dimensional travel... Hmm, Domino wasn't certain how she felt about it. Crossing over could certainly be useful in certain situations, but would be exceedingly dangerous in most others, and otherspace wasn't something that had interested her yet. Though the possibility of visiting placed destroyed, planets lost, species wiped out, or a civilization long gone in this reality was tempting. "What's all this?" Domino asked as they came into a new room scattered with what could be called junk. Knowing Matsu however, the truth was probably far from the debris' appearance.

"More debris from the kingdom of dreams, specifically the engines and controls. A better way to study and try to reconstruct it with the Aing-Tii and Sasori working to fill in the missing gaps." She said it with a small grin on her face while she stood there for now, looking over it and the box like design of it all was there. Where she could move around here within the room. Matsu turned to see a few other pieces that were more ornate as well as some of the cases that had survived, holding odds and ends, pieces of clothing, toys, a childs doll with the fur still there as a wookiee. THey had any number of things for it to look over that the jedi master might be able to gleam if she was better at psychometry. "These though are saddening, they wankted peace and couldn't find it."

"Such seems to be the fate of all who aren't lucky enough to be ignored by those who abuse their power." Domino's low opinion of those who found glory in military pursuits and meddling in other's affairs was well known and she didn't intend to bring it up any more than that. Now though she wished she hadn't worn such a whimsical outfit, not only did it seem disrespectful to the lives represented in the items spread out before them, it hindered her ability to examine them closer and really get in and muck about with the ancient equipment. "What was the Kingdom's fate and how did you come by it?"
