Varloc was finishing a lesson with a apprentice of his Jetul Buthae, who was a quite promising apprentice. That's all for today Jetul. You may go back to your ship. Varloc headed back to his ship where he slept, Jetul also slept on his parked ship. The sun was now low and the temperature dropped. Varloc sat and meditated, it was harder than usual for the wind of the frozen tundra outside howled loudly. He sat late into the night before going to sleep.

The trandoshan waited patiently, having wrapped himself in several layers of white cloth or hide to try and keep himself warm. Staying in near constant meditation, waiting. He'd been set on target of an apprentice, or padawan, however you wanted them to be named. Rocho didn't consider the student themselves a worthwhile target, but the company they keep, and the terrain he was in. The challenge was not to kill the child, but to get away with it.

He kept the chalacta-ii-anti-matériel-rifle aimed at the camp, watching before the sun rose, hidden by Illums own terrain and the considerable distance between himself and his target. He'd found a spot just elevated enough that he'd be able to get a fairly good view of the location and if anyone treaded outside alone. He was hoping he could get a chance when the student was all alone, or at least far enough away from his teacher. The weapon had considerable power behind it, it was after all really not meant for infantry. But that didn't mean a force sensitive didn't have ways of stopping or avoiding it anyway.

He'd kept the-robbers-crown in nearby space, so that if needed, he could escape to it, allowing him to escape more easily. For now though, he just had to wait until the student came out...and let the shot fly. As usual, he was very well armed. But most of his equipment was set to the side so he could lay more comfortably for however many hours it would take.

A TIE shuttle floated out in space. Far enough away from any hyperlanes that the pilot, a togorian Mandolrian, felt sure that it wouldn't be hit by any approaching ships. Speaking of the Mandalorian, if anyone else found themselves on the ship, they could hear the sounds of labored breathing coming from the passenger hold, cleared out to make a sort of multipurpose room. In the center of the room was Venku, making his way through several fighting styles as he tried to augment his body with the force. It wasn't going that well. He had figured out the pull and push in the force but what he was more interested, augmenting his body, was much more difficult for him.

Stepping into a guard position, his shoulders slumped and he paused. He had been at this for hours, and he was exhausted. Whil he may not sweat, thank the Kara for that, he was visibly shaking with the practice and could really do with a shower. Mind made up, Venku trudged to his room and the small ‘fresher inside it.

An hour later, Venku was back in the hold, meditating. He still struggled with this aspect, finding himself "looking" at too much too fast. Making meditating a dangerous practice for him. Not that he hadn’t taken precautions, if he didn’t come to in an hour, he programmed a timer in his ship to set off the emergency alarm, painfully loud to his sensitive ears. Fifteen minutes after that if he didn’t come shut off the alarm and disengage the next step, the fire suppression system would turn on as a final fail safe. He had never gotten to that point, but it was better to have a back up just in case.
As he meditated, his presence focused in on Darth Varloc, the force user who had trained him. He had taken another apprentice while Venku was away, not that the togorian faulted him. He liked to travel, couldn’t stay still for more than a few months when he had the ability to move. He had promised his fellow Mandalorian that he would continue to practice as he traveled, but staying in the same place for months had started making him restless.

Varloc was awoken early by Jetul. Master, we should start early today. Varloc had taught his apprentice things that were quite advanced for his level. Today there is nothing new to learn, practice if you wish or take the day off, what ever. The apprentice nodded and began leave Varloc's ship. Just dont freeze.

Varloc sat up and then took care of his daily goverment work. The wind still howled outside.

Wearing: Surge Epidermis

Armed with: Skin Razors

First Degree Burn

Four Hours Before.

The Amalgam had been given yet another test by The Unholy Spirit. One that again involved the Surge Epidermis.

The last time she had worn it had nearly proven ruinous but this test was worse.

As a show of faith The Brain Demon commanded The Amalgam to actively surrender to the remant of her old master's persona should it prove strong enough to sieze control. The goal was to take back control even easier.

While trying to kill the apprentice of no less than Varloc Varloc . On Illum no less.

The Amalgam had slipped on the pearlescent white armor with dread. There was a logic to it, of course, as one does not casually attack a Darth's apprentice.

But with this armor, which bore remnants of her master in it, was still extremely high risk. Indeed, she could already feel it and her master's lightsaber working in tandem to try and subvert her. Extreme discipline kept the two halves to the Congregation's ressurection seperated as she piloted her craft, flesh bubbling and wriggling as the beast struggled with the ghost of another beast for control. The stealth drive was kept up as she descended into the atmosphere.

It was a sudden turbulence that did it. Taking her focus off to right the craft caused more lapse in the internal struggle. She felt herself slowly slipping away as she landed, staggering to the exit, flesh constantly writhing.

She had sacrificed so much for power. Now it was to the point she was having to risk her very soul for it regularly and prove her devotion to the Dark Side.

As per the Unholy Spirit's command, the Amalgam permitted herself to lose the fight as it had gotten strong enough to manifest, her flesh resetting to that of a pale woman with platinum blonde hair.

It was definitely not the Amalgam who was in control by the time she stepped off the craft, but her Master, The Congregation, and she was already rotting internally due to her intense corruption as she headed out into the snow, whispering unholy things to keep her presence cloaked from Varloc as she began the trek through the snow drift, flesh churning over her skeleton before she forced control back on herself.

But the Amalgam waa already struggling. It was her sheer will that prevented The Congregation from even thinking about attempting a magical ritual to leave her permanently in control.

The Congregation however, hoped that if she could kill the apprentice before The Amalgam got control back, then the Unholy Spirit would at last speak and show her favor.

"This time..." The Congregation hissed, wincing as the Amalgam struggled very hard for control on the inside.

"This time, my power shall not fail me."

The Amalgam, possessed by her Master's remnant, trudged through the snow more aggressively, two kilometers out from the target She lacked the subtlety of whoever else was here to kill the target...she was just going to get as close as she could and then drain him in front of Varloc.

So yeah, she was even more evil then usual. Hard to top considering how evil she normally was but the Congregation had been that vile in life, and moreso in undeath.

The wind howled. Rocho was yet unaware of the presence of another figure in this battlefield. But right now, it hopefully wouldn't matter. Patience, watch, and wait. By this point his layers of clothing were also covered in snow. Naturally, he would have been incredibly cold. But the Hunt was what Rocho specialized in. And meditation was just as important to it as was the rifle one used.

His heart took a sudden hastening as he saw the target, Jetul, exit the ship. He forced his heart back into its rythm, letting it take its time. Measuring his breathing. His mind and body working as one to see the target, to feel the wind, feel the snow, the air. And through the force, to see the future. To see where Jetul was going to be when the chalacta-ii-anti-matériel-rifle would fire.

He tried to take his time, patience was extremely important. But so was the choice to act at the right time. And his time only lasted so long. The student was going to go into training. But Rocho had no intention of letting that time last long. For a moment, he stopped breathing, his heart stopped beating, all that he did, was pull the trigger. He felt the recoil hit his shoulder long before the bolt would be noticed by the enemy. At this distance there was a delay between when he pulled the trigger, and when it hit. However, even with that. He wasn't taking risks. He reset himself, and released a second shot at where he should be if the rifle would hit its first. While it should kill him almost immediately, with the raw power and strength that type of the weapon most species would be screwed. But, he just wanted to be sure.

Now it was a matter of waiting to see. Just what would happen.

Narrating for Jetul

Earlier

Jetul walked out into the snow moving towards a pile of rocks that were used for levitating and such. He was brushing off some snow when he sensed something nearby. He looked around and forgot about it, it was probably just a wild animal. he was completely unaware off his impending doom.

That's when it happened, the first shot he didn't expect whatsoever, but he suddenly so it hit him in the shoulder. The first shot dropped him, the second hit his shin. The injury stopped him from thinking straight, he lay where he fell. His leg and arm not responding. He was at the edge of death.

Through the force, Venku knew it was cold and his fur fluffed up despite the temperature of the ship remaining the same.

It’s not me. It’s the force. Mind over matter, by brain thinks it is cold and tricks my body into believing it. repeating this in his head several times, Venku’s sense of self eventually came back, and his fur flattened at the touch of warm air.

With the cold no longer as empowering, the force disciple began to learn more from the force. things slipping through his mind at breakneck speeds, due to the abstract way they were revealed.
fact. It was cold
fact. There was snow and rocks
fact. He was levitating the rocks, practicing with his lightsaber as he cut them down.
bias. The idea of a lightsaber was wrong in his hand, handle to short and blade humming dully.

I have no lightsaber, I do not use those styles nor is my hearing that poor. That is not me.
His tail flicked behind him, assuring him of this fact. In this “vision” he knew he had no tail or mobile ears.
In this vision the disciple that was not him continued to practice. Venku could not see it, but he knew the style used would damage most of the rocks.

The vision - although the name barely fit, he could not see these facts. They were just pressed into his mind as an abstract thing, a mix of facts and definitions and flashes of almost images - continued and gave him the sense of being watched. The definition of a shadow came to mind, deep and hiding. Followed by the impression of a hunter. A great cat stalking it’s prey in the night, light reflecting off its golden eyes and making them glow.
Subtly the force nudged him away from the glow of eyes to the glint of a sniper rifle.
Not the one in the snow, but it was enough to tell him what the figure in the snow was doing
But it was a sniper none the less.
Dread filled him, pulse pounding in his ears, real this time, and his breath hitched. Snow crunched as the sniper prepares to fire. The dread built and Venku began to hyperventilate, ears pinning back and mouth parting in a truly animalistic snarl. The finger did not play with the trigger. It pulled back smoothly-

WAEO WAEO!!!

The Congregation had made good time through the snow, and in fact could now make out the sight where they were training. She was very close now.

The Amalgam struggled from within but The Congregation held her in place, her sheer beastial inhumanity forcing back even The Amalgam's deeply depraved nature. But it was getting harder. She must prove herself, and soon.

She felt Jetul's pain as he was shot, felt herself shiver in delight at the feel of his pain and activated her alchemized cloak on her armor once she was within spronting range. She turned invisible, her force presence reduced to the signature of a buzzing fly, and broke into a run. She had to reach him. She called on her rage, which temporarily cut off The Amalgam's attempts to retake control, muscles bulging and swelling disgustingly as she broke into a superhuman sprint, darting to the rocks where Jetul had fallen.

Soon she was less then thirty meters from him and gaining.

Unfortunately, running at superhuman speed through the snow had completely defeated the purpose of remaining hidden, having kicked up a cloud of snow during her sprint, giving away her position to Rocho Rocho in the process without realizing it. It was one way The Congregation was ultimately inferior to her successor--she was so incredibly sadistic and bloodthirsty she sometimes forgot tactics, so caught up in the thrill of killing constantly that it became irrelevant to her.

This was a very unfortunate tactical position she had placed herself in as she closed on Jetul...

Varloc was focused on meditating he hadn't sensed the danger. But when the shots were fired Varloc felt it. He shot out of his sitting position towards the door. He opened the door to find Jetul not there, he knew that he most likely would have dropped to the ground if shot, and therefore hidden in the snow.

He sensed someone, who he thought was the shooter, then he sensed a second being. Varloc saw one of these beings running through the snow towards Jetul. Varloc realized that the person running wasn't the shooter, but he knew whoever it was wasn't friendly.

Varloc ignited his purple lightsaber, and used the the force to create a pure ball of force energy, he then focused and released the energy towards The Amalgam The Amalgam . He kept his lightsaber in a defensive position, to deflect a shot from Rocho Rocho .

WAEO WAEO!!!
The alarm kept blaring, and the force became more aggressive, shoving itself into Venku's head.
The shot hit, and the bost hit the ground. Connected as he was to the other disciple at the time, Venku was sent realing at the sudden loss.
In his moment of weakness, when the madalorian wasn't keeping as tight a control over the force, it flooded his senses.
He knew the body hit, the idea of crunching snow pervading his mind. Knew Varloc came outside to look. Danger.

A hidden enemy revealed itself, and Venku knew it was there to kill his friend. Although the rest of the reasoning was a chaotic bundle, a mix of a challenge and test and desperate struggle for control and for life all swirled around with the sticky chaotic prescence of insanity.

Sabers flashed to life, purple on purple as they fought. Fire and snow and a sniper watching nearby.

The fire suppression system went on and Venku was pulled forcefully from his visions. Sprinting to the cockpit, he shut off the system and alarm and set in the hyperspace coordinated for Ilium, as that is where the force told him the disciple died. Thank Kara he was barely even half a sector away, the force having nudged him to meditate near the icy, kyber crystal covered planet.
As the ship started, Venku ran to his room, ignoring the sealant still stuck to him in favor of dressing in his armor, skin suit and armor weave under beskar'gam.

Rocho snarled as he realized the shots weren't immediately deadly. One of the issues with hitting force sensitives with not immediately deadly shots was that they had a habit of healing. Rocho could too, but that was due to his species more than it was just his force sensitivity. Either way, he had to prepare soon, he cracked his neck and immediately felt snow leak its way in causing him to shiver, both with irritation and the sheer cold.

He took aim again, seeing not only that Varloc Varloc had entered the scene, but the cloud of snow caused by The Amalgam The Amalgam , Well this got a little bit more interesting. he thought to himself. He launched force energy towards the cloud of snow, while focusing his weapon on Rocho, as far away as he was. That caused a bit of a chuckle, "Here, have a taste." he said, aiming again at the student. The purpose was to force Varloc into moving his lightsaber in the way, in the way of something that could break through 200 mm, nearly 8 inches, of reinforced duracrete. For many, that would easily force the lightsaber into either the user or the very person he was trying to protect. If it didn't outright break their wrists and just keep going.

Varloc was not most. But Rocho fully intended to test it out anyway. His shots had time between them, but they were considerably powerful. He fully intended to take advantage of this distraction that had come. He assumed either for the same target, or for Varloc himself. Another few seconds, and he'd release another shot. He made sure to take an extra two seconds so that if his opponent was timing him, they'd be off next shot by just enough to threaten a life.

This was going to be interesting.

Damn it.

The Congregation had not been fast enough. Varloc Varloc had spotted her.

The wretched animal, something so inherently sadistic and cruel that it had begun to influence the Amalgam's thinking more and more since the first time it had nearly taken control thirsted for the death of everything present. The Amalgam's body was weaker than what she was used to...she could already feel the decay starting internally. Her once fresh skin starting to yellow and crinkle ever so slightly. Just siezing control had been taxing.

When Varloc hurled the ball there was very little The Congregation could do. She had been so close. Mere meters from the apprentice. But the ball found its target, smacking into her on the right of her back, which violently ruptured open as it slammed into her spilling white blood and stinking, decaying yellow innards. She tumbled foward, legs and an arm shattering and nearly torn off, her face violently scraping a rock close to Jetul, shaving half of it of, her spine shattering as she called on pure hatred to sustain the wounds, feeding off pain and fury and frustration, the seething corruption in her activating in every cell as she finally hit the ground, flesh bubbling and wriggling as she stood up, sustained by the Dark Side itself, jaw shattered and hanging loosely on a fast decaying face.

She saw Jetul and broke into a dead run for him, bones breaking more as she sprinted, thirsting for life. When she was in range, she took advantage of the fact Rocho Rocho was shooting at Varloc and reached out to Jetul's life force her flesh shuddering in ecstacy as the will of all the evil kinds inside of her reached out to devour his soul...

He was out of options. The Amalgam The Amalgam is super powered with the dark side, and Rocho Rocho 's is annoying but quite deadly.

Varloc quickly blocked Rocho's first shot by tapping into the force and creating a shield, it took quite a bit of energy to block such a powerful blast. Varloc then used Rocho's space in between shot's to take out his red blade of multiple lightsabers, he ignited it and through it using the force at Rocho. The lightsaber was thrown so it could block his second shot, but after the shot the lightsaber was knocked out of the way.

Varloc then realized where he was, illum was powerful with the force, he was a well trained force master. He reached out and used the planets force energy, the power flowed throughout him. Varloc then faced The Amalgam and released a torrent of Force Lightning, one of Varlocs specialities at his target. Break you monster.

While Varloc attacked he didn't forget about the sniper. With the power of Illum itself he raised a large piece of jagged ice and launched it towards Rocho. But in doing this Varloc dropped to one knee, the weight of the power he was expending was great. He looked upon the balance, the very force itself for power.

The lightning raced to the Congregation, who could only laugh in a hideous, stilted and metallic manner as her suit acted as a lightning rod, feeling the pain only slightly as it impacted, being mostly absorbed by the lightning channeling armor. She continued focusing on eating Jetul's soul, throwing her whole will into it. Her jaw began to lash itself together as her body stole his energy greedily trying to drink in even more.

Never mind the danger, there was only the next victim. Only the next slaughter. Soon Jetul would be eaten and then Varloc Varloc and anyone else like Venku Bralor Venku Bralor who came to investigate. Her skin wriggled as much from the nourishment it was stealing from Jetul as it was the thought of getting to slaughter again immediately afterward.

The sickening laughs escaping the beast's throat were high pitched enough to put anyone who heard it on edge. The massive wound on her back began to heal...

the TIE entered atmo, and Venku double checked his gear, making sure his beskar’gam was strapped on correctly and he had his staff on him, compressed into its smaller form and held above his tail where it wouldn’t get in the way when he ran. He doubted he would make it out unharmed, but he wasn’t going to let Varloc fight these two alone.

He was out of the ship the second it touched down, running full tilt towards the fight not too far away. His limbs pounded against the snow in time with his heart, running on all fours like the feline he resembled for the speed and maneuverability it gave him. Plus it helped reduce how much of a target he was,
As he wasn’t presenting his whole body up for them to hit.
Sadly running this way didn’t do much for stealth, the orange painted armor sticking out like a sore thumb in the white snow.

The trandoshan didn't waste any time when an attack did finally come for him, using the force to throw himself off from his position out of the path. He looked far into the distance where the fight continued to take place and furrowed his brow, "If he dies, I believe this is sufficient." he said. He rushed inside his ship grabbing a set of Electrobinoculars and using the device to zoom in on the corpse for a picture. Once he'd accomplished that, he stood, putting on his equipment carefully and looking at the fight go on from the distance.

He raised an eyebrow at The Amalgam The Amalgam . He would remember all those here today. And he would be watching for them in the future.

But right now, there was little more for him to do. Another party had entered, that of Venku Bralor Venku Bralor . This all looked like an excellent challenge, but he had done what he came here to do. If he continued, and failed, that would be a mark against him. So he would only watch for now. To see what would play out. As long as he could be sure the student died. Then he was done.

Varloc knew it would be hard to defeat The Amalgam The Amalgam . He then noticed Venku Bralor Venku Bralor coming. Varloc pointed at Venku and then at Rocho Rocho , indicating for him to go after him. He then clicked a button on a control watch on his wrist, when he clicked the button four War Droids came out of his ship and followed Venku.

Varloc raised both hands and then focused force energy like he did earlier and released it at The Amalgam. He then lifted Jetul and pulled him towards Varloc.

Seeing Varloc's blatant gestures, Venku made a sharp turn and headed towards Rocho. Snow flew up around him as his limbs ate away at the distance. Under his helmet, his ears pinned back against his head and muzzle parted, teeth flashing in a feral snarl. The vocalizer picked up on the sound and projected it for att to hear. A snarling hissing sound that reverberated from deep in his chest.

Pu[i;s dilated as he focused in on Rocho. It was rare that Venku got like this, but when it did it was a sight to behold. If there was anything that defined Clan Bralor aside from it's size, it was the legendary temper many of its members had. Venku was no exception. Although this wasn't so much a true temper as it was battle rage.

The Mandalorian closed in on Rocho, snow flying as paws pushed off the ground, the war droids following close behind.

The trandoshan chuckled as he spotted Varloc Varloc give the signal to Venku Bralor Venku Bralor . Over two kilometers out, the Trandoshan had little concern. He wasn't slow however. Quickly tossing his rifle into the Challenger and rushing to the cockpit. The ship rose quickly into the air, spinning around to face Venku rather than simply sputtering off, "A present to remember not to chase a sniper in the snow." he muttered to himself as the laser cannon turret beneath the ship started spitting heavy blaster fire at Venku and the droids, as his ship rose further.

He had no interest in continuing this engagement right now. Fighting Venku would doubtless be worth it on its own based on his speed. But he was not the only factor in this fight. And he wasn't the target. Rocho would find out later if the target had survived, for now, he had done his job. And it was time to go. He would aim to quickly rise the ship towards the atmosphere. He contacted his nn-2-front-droid on the Robbers Crown,
"I'm done for now. Be prepared for me boarding, if I'm followed. We'll be releasing the fighters." he ordered.

The Robbers Crown wasn't too far away, though it was still far enough to avoid much most peoples detection from this planet. That was the main point. If he made it there, there was little chance they could stop his escape.
