- Very well defended: Thanks to a large number of resistances provided to the ship, not only by its shield generators, but also the use of Ersteel 145, tunqstoid lining and Quadrinium, the Kendu-Class can truly beat it's chest, for it can take quite the beating from any sort of conventional weaponry before any sort of extensive repairs are even remotely necessary.
- Maneuvrable: Though usually, ships of this type are normally not the most maneuvrable, due to it's no doubt combat intensive role as transport of troops, personnel or precious cargo, the Kendu class can boast a high degree of maneuvrability.
- Cargo capacity: There is enough space on board this ship, to safely haul up to 200 soldiers [when chosen for the latch system], 40 military| non-military personnel [when chosen for seating arrangements] or up to 2000 tons of cargo, making this quite the versatile transporter.
- Low armament: Due to primarily being a direct-drop-retreat ship, it leans this ship's weapon systems are rather limited, in stead choosing for higher defenses and maneuvrability than overall firepower.
- Low squadron size: Due to this ship's relative size, it doesn't exactly easily fit in great numbers within other ships, thus a lower squadron count was implemented to allow for more efficient use.
As part of the large scale modernization of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, N&Z Umbrella Corporation, having it's roots within the territory of said galactic faction, decided to vie for a piece of this multibillion credit opportunity. After having received the list of desired ships and equipment, N&Z has rerouted one particular request to Nargath Holdings. The request being the design and engineering of a cheap, but reliable Troop transport vessel. Going by Projectname CIS-N2 the teams started working on the design. At first it looked like the best option was to square off the design completely, making sure no inch of space would be wasted and the ship itself could have quite high parameters for it's relatively small size.
In the meantime, the appointed engineers figured out that a composite combination of Ersteel 145 and Quadranium for the ship's exterior plating would ensure the security and safety of all those people or goods on board in relative comfort against the majority of common weaponry systems. The addition of a proper shielding system and the magnificent OS_HD2 hyperdrive made sure all parameters in regards to defensive capability and cargo capacity would be meet, alongside the speed and travel parameters decided upon by the Ministry of Science within the CIS.
Due to more focus on defense, the armament is at the very least adaquate, but not at all inspiring or frightful, with two lightweight HP1 turbolasers and two NZ RF-6OO's mounted at the nose, this ship is best used to quickly maneuvre itself through an enemy blockade or to planet ground to drop off its troops, personnel or goods rapidly and with great ease.
