SPECIAL FEATURESSTRENGTHS
  • + VERSATILITY IN THE FIELD: The Journeyman-type excels in adaptability, combining mobility with a formidable combat toolkit. Whether deployed for recon, support, or frontline engagements, it offers a carefully selected blend of offensive weaponry, sensor arrays, and defensive countermeasures. From rocket launchers to flamethrowers, from jamming systems to projected shields, the armor allows its wearer to shift tactics fluidly, responding to battlefield conditions without needing specialized resupply or support.
    .
  • + LIGHTWEIGHT, HIGH-GRADE PROTECTION: The Journeyman-type offers exceptional resistance to both kinetic and energy damage through strategic Mandalorian Steel plating and armorweave layering. It achieves this without burdening the wearer with excessive weight or hindering movement, making it ideal for fast-moving contractors, mercenaries, and scouts operating without backup. It’s tough enough to hold the line, but light enough to choose your battles.
WEAKNESSES
  • - ION & EMP VULNERABILITY: While the armor features a basic combat de-ionizer, it lacks the redundant power systems or internal shielding of heavier suits. This leaves its advanced HUD, targeting systems, and defense tools highly vulnerable to EMPs or ion weaponry. A well-placed blast can temporarily nullify its shields, jetpack controls, and sensor packages, forcing the wearer to rely on fundamentals until systems reboot.
    .
  • - POWER FRAME DEPENDENCY: To retain mobility, especially for long-distance travel or contract deployments, the Journeyman-type sacrifices full plating coverage in favor of armorweave layering in the joints, underarms, and behind the knees. While these areas offer some protection, they remain vulnerable to shrapnel, bladed weapons, or well-placed blaster shots, especially in close-quarters combat against opponents trained to exploit armor gaps.
DESCRIPTION

The Journeyman-type Beskar’gam was forged with the outliers in mind: those Mandalorians, allies, and warriors who operate beyond the Empire’s walls yet still bleed for its cause. Contractors, mercenaries, citizens-turned-soldiers...this armor is a promise that even the distant are not forgotten. It reflects the Empire’s enduring commitment to those who stand beside Mandalore, no matter how far their journey takes them. On the battlefield, the Journeyman-type serves as a lightweight yet formidable multipurpose armor, integrating key features from its Owl, Protector, and Supercommando-type kin into a unified, versatile platform. It is not specialized, but it is dependable, and in the Outer Rim, that distinction can mean survival.

Despite its light weight, the Journeyman-type is packed with battlefield-ready tech. The helmet houses a full suite of tactical sensors, including motion detectors, lifeform scanners, and infrared optics. alongside a HUD, macrobinocular viewplate, rangefinder, and encrypted communications. A jamming array and scramble key support electronic countermeasures, while a lock-threat warning system provides essential threat detection. The armor includes a biorestorative underlay for field endurance, a thermal cloak for resisting the elements, and a combat de-ionizer for basic protection against ion interference. The wearer’s jetpack provides aerial mobility, critical for fast insertion or extraction in unknown territory.

The armament layout supports a wide variety of combat roles. Projected energy shields and crushgaunts offer personal defense, while whistling birds, wrist-mounted blades, and a flamethrower provide devastating offensive options. A holoprojector allows for real-time data relay or decoy deployment. On the right vambrace, a wrist laser and mini concussion rocket launcher, with access to anti-personnel, chemical, and carbonite payloads, ensure the wearer can respond to virtually any threat. The utility belt is equipped with thermal detonators, Forcebreaker grenades, EMPs, and ammunition pouches, while the legs feature kneepad dart launchers and magnetic boots for vertical mobility and environmental grip.

The armor’s core strength lies in its adaptability. Built to thrive without specialized support, it empowers its wearer to shift between scouting, support, and direct assault roles fluidly. Its protective rating is notable for its weight class, thanks to a layered design of Mandalorian Steel, armorweave, and thermal gel. However, it is not without limitations. The reliance on active systems leaves it vulnerable to EMP or ion-based disruption, and the lightweight construction necessitates exposed gaps at joints and mobility-critical regions. Against trained opponents or in prolonged high-EM environments, the wearer must rely on instinct, skill, and smart tactics to compensate.

Still, the Journeyman-type Beskar’gam is more than a suit, it’s a statement. It says that you don’t need to live on Mandalore to fight for it. That no matter how far you roam, you carry the strength of your people with you. In forging this armor, the Mandalorian Empire ensures that those who walk the loneliest roads do not walk them unprotected. With the right hands inside it, this armor will not only preserve lives, it will shape legends across the stars.
