Approved Tech ForceBreaker Gas Grenade

Status
Not open for further replies.
Intent: This grenade is made with the intent of temorarily disabaling a being [notably a Sith or Jedi's] connection to the Force, weakening them.

Manufacturer: BlasTech Industries (under contract)

Model:
GG-01

Affiliation: Mandolorians
Modularity: Can be loaded with other toxins

Production: Minor, will be expanded if field tests are conclusive.

Material: Durasteel alloy casing, various electronics

Size: 10cm radius

Munition: Vaporized Ixetal Cilona

Description: These grenades are a new invention created by BlasTech Industries for the Mandolorians. They work on the premise of other gas grenades, such as a smoke grenade. When the internal timer hits zero, the grenade releases vaporized Ixetal Cilona, which is a powerful hallucinogen that is proven to weaken a being's Force connection. The exact mechanism is unknown, but a rough explanation is the toxin disrupts a being's midi chlorians, damaging the Force connection temporarily. The toxin was purified and concentrated and mixed with a bonding agent that keeps it in gaseous form. The grenade can be "cooked" like others, reducing the timer countdown before throwing it. There is another devious mechanism that when external pressure equivilent to holding it in your hand is applied after activation, it will prematurely detonate, releasing its contents. The effects last for about four standard hours (varies per species), and less if a purging agent is used.

The Star Wars compound Ixetal Cilona heated into gas form works just as well. It is the primary ingredient in making 'death sticks'. And has been proven to alter a person's mind and weaken their connection to the Force. It is probably just as expensive, but still a much more scientific approach than just saying 'Null Force'. It is also a wonderful way to keep a Sith sedated and in captivity. :D

How does it disable the use of the force. Does it cause make the victim hazy and unable to concentrate? Does it somehow sever the connection midi-chlorians have with the force? Does it disable midi-chlorians all together? And if any of those, how does it have any of those effects and how was it developed?

Earlier I was referencing this conversation from Star Wars: Legecy Comics. Cade explains that deathsticks help weaken his connection with the Force. Though he later explains that it is his Force Healing Abilities that purge the addiction as well. Kind of a weird comic, if you asked me. But I guess it's 'Canon' now. So what can you do. :)
