SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Effectively an HRD...in the form of a canine that resembles a beast like a big kath hound or similar canine. The organic exterior conceals an intelligent, merciless machine. Its advanced data-brain improves its skill for espionage, combat and simulating the behaviour of an organic hound. They can accurately mimic the behaviour of a real hound, including simulating eating, sleeping and so on convincingly.
  • The cyberhound is fast moving, can pounce targets and has a powerful, electrified bite. It has the programming to use its weight and savagery to smash into targets. Their crushing bite is reinforced by the fangs. Two vibro fangs are at the front and top of the jaw. These are pyramidal in shape, and allow the hound to puncture and cut through flesh or light armour with horrific results.
  • Slicing capabilities and long-range sensors make them useful at intelligence gathering. Advanced sensors enable them to track people by smell, even basic blood type, and DNA scanning.
STRENGTHS
  • HRD in the guise of a hound. Intelligent, adaptive and versatile, the hound can guard sensitive installations, surprise and ambush intruders who mistake it for a normal guard dog, carry out reconnaissance and some espionage. Capable of mimicking the forms of communication employed by kath hounds and other canines, right down to body language, vocalisation etc. Their skin and fur feels real and life-like.
  • Fast, agile and ferocious. Can leap long and high to knock down an enemy. It is very strong and its fangs can crush and tear whole handfuls of tissue away. It can splinter bones and even rip off limbs.
  • Ironheart Hounds work together in a 'pack' and can coordinate lesser droid units. Particularly useful since their comparatively mundane guise might cause attackers to view them as less threatening.
WEAKNESSES
  • Lacking lightsabre protection of note, the cyberhound is vulnerable in this area. At best they can resist a glancing blow, but a solid strike will cut through them with ease. Except in numbers the Ironheart Hound is not an ideal tool to use against a trained Jedi or Sith.
  • Lacking any ranged weapons, they must get into melee range with an enemy to hurt them. Thus shooting at long range or staying out of reach is a good counter.
  • Even with the vibrofangs, the hounds are ineffective against any material a vibroknife could not also penetrate. This includes heavy armour, vehicles etc.
  • While the skeleton is more resistant to damage, their organic overlay is vulnerable In an infiltration situation, damage to it will easily break their cover, as it will expose the metal beneath their synthskin. Likewise, high-grade scans could notice something is off.
DESCRIPTION

The Ironheart Hound is essentially another form of HRD. However, it is has not been designed to resemble a human or humanoid being. Instead it outwardly resembles a kath hound, dog or any other canine. It has the ferocity, loyalty and cunning of these creatures, but is guided by a machine intelligence. The droid's programming allows it to expertly simulate and mimic the behaviour of an actual flesh and blood hound. It can be a capable bodyguard that is ostensibly just a pet and guard dog, serve as an attack animal and spy. The hound will not only carry out orders it is given, but display adaptability, cunning and initiative rather than just charging at an enemy by the most direct way.

It is designed not just to attack, but to observe and direct. Whether used by Archangel or their customers, it can perform in a variety of roles. Archangel likes to use them to guard important installations or set them loose in areas that are of interest and where free moving canines would not be out of place. Wolves, kath hounds and the like are a common sight on many worlds and can thus hide in plain sight in a manner conventional HRDs might find difficult.

The Ironheart Hound has a knack for climbing. Its speed and agility allows it to charge a target at full speed, leaping to use its weight and fangs to savage an enemy. This agility also provides it with a low target profile and is also a hard target to hit when moving. These qualities make it a good fit for an ambush role. Moreover, the hound features powerful fangs, and a crushing bite, enabling it to tear a human's arm off or maul it horribly. The vibro engine inside the robotic beast's fangs makes its two front fangs essentially two vibroblades.

However, the hound is ineffective against vehicles, and vulnerable to capable lightsabre-wielders. In addition, the robotic hound lacks ranged weapons, which means it must get into melee range with an enemy in order to hurt them. Enyo dislikes the name Ironheart Hound because it makes no sense. Clearly her siblings are teasing her.
