COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Strengths:
Containment: The main purpose of the Iron Halo Fleet is to keep the Commenori contained on their own homeworld, and has many methods in doing so from an expansive network of orbital platforms to several interdiction cruisers.
  • Planetary Defense: The same methods used to keep the Commenori on their own world also work to defend the planet against foreign intrusion, as that same might can be projected outward in the event of an attack on the Empire's holdings.

[*]Weaknesses:
  • Pursuit: Though the fleet has several fast-moving ships, they are not allowed to venture too far away from the designated defensive zone when engaging enemy forces. Because of that, they are often stymied from running down fleeing ships.
  • Static: The entire fleet is moored around the Iron Halo, and they are not keen on breaking formation even in the face of dire threat. Typically they would launch their fighters and attack enemy ships from afar, only breaking rank when the situation grows desperate.

DESCRIPTION

As the Siege of Commenor came to an end, the Sith Empire maintained a massive fleet presence in orbit as the remaining military assets of the Commenori were accounted for and decommissioned. When the majority of the Sith left to return to the Empire's main territory, a sizeable fleet was left in orbit to safeguard the Empire's interests in the system.

Led by Admiral Coroct Bartholomew Dathart III from the Preventor-class Interdictor Battlecruiser, Iron Halo, the sight of the many dagger-shaped warships in orbit above Commenor was the most visible sign of the Empire's hold over the planet.

Eventually, the battlegroup was reinforced with around fifty orbital defense platforms stationed around the planet, able to relay an alert to the command ship no matter where a threat presented itself. However, the fleet mostly settled down to scan and inspect incoming and outgoing ships for any forbidden contraband or rebel activity.
