Invasion of Nar Shaddaa (Reps vs. Suns)

Thaddeus stood far behind the door of the power station behind some durasteel bloackades alongside @[member="Airal Thamne"] and some commandos Thaddeus was able to meet in his past days. Thaddeus then tuned into his commlink implant. "This is Thaddeus Creed. Those pubbies aren't getting in here without a fight. That I promise you. Creed out." Thaddeus finished his message to @Mr. Ash with that. "Once that smoke appears, light them up. Got it?" Thaddeus said to the togruta. He was very serious about this moment. If those Jedi somehow made it past his heavy weaponry, they must have been sent as warrior gods.

The Force Breaker grenades were set to the door and she had a special surprise set next to them. Thermal Detonators courtesy of Baktoid Industries. She smirked as she waited to fire into them. It was going to be fun. If they got in it was going to be over her dead body. She smirked. " It seems that we have a party on the way, lets see that they get a proper welcome." She said with an laugh of amusement. She did enjoy a good fight. " The only thing that would make this party better is some booze." She said as she watched the door for the enemy.

Of course, why would Hannibal send troops everywhere when he could simply pinpoint where the Vice-Chancellor was running off to using the same tools the Echani had utilized to monitor him? Alarms blared as the master tunnel was opened and Hannibal quickly switched to a display that illustrated the entire facility. Hannibal followed the blip that indicated Yusan down the tunnel both on the map and through video. This guy was fleeing now. Typical politician- always moving through backdoors when the going got tough. This little move wouldn't save him. Nothing would deliver him from Hannibal's durasteel grasp.

He watched as the Senator started down another tunnel, picking the one that would lead him to some kind of refugee camp. By now, the entire camp would be deserted as its residents either fled to the lower levels or were evacuated into bomb shelters. Hannibal exited the compound, radioing for his droids to converge on that location. He had a bead on Fenn and he would be damned if that Echani made it out of that sector.

Hannibal made his way back towards the surface, where he boarded one of the gunships and subsequently lead the others and the dropships towards Fenn's location. It wouldn't be a very long ride.

Yusan had taken only a minute or two to breath and rest up before starting off again, sticking to back alleys and going further down the levels of the city, his plan was to get to the lowest level possible where hiding would become several times easier. Staying away from turbolifts now as they were not under his commanded he descended further down into the city before moving silently into a nearly ruined apartment complex. During his run he had abandoned his current pair of armor and his robes for a cloak, a pair of clothes he robbed from another apartment, and placed a pair of visual scramblers he had forgotten to use earlier. Once done he moved silently among the alleys, his ears and eyes trained to the sky and around every corner as he expected even with all his precautions for someone to inevitably find him.

Once in the ruined apartment complex he looked around and found a central room on the upper floor, keeping himself well out of the way of any windows and lowering his heartbeat with a calming technique. He didn't have much more he could do now that he was the very thing he had come to rescue, and he didn't dare transmit any signals yet. He was for all intents and purposes, stranded up a creek with no paddle. @[member="Hannibal Oryen"]

"Ee cha wamma!"

YubYub hooted as he looked at the trajectory of the shots. Only one hit. Well, only one thing for it.

"Fire again!"

Another two ion bolts left the V-150 and screamed through the sky, up, up, up and away through atmosphere, out into orbit, and beyond, heading for the Republic's capital ship. With the converging fleets, firing shots without hitting friendlies would be difficult. But neither side had fully engaged yet. And YubYub was never what one would term a "careful" warrior.

"Keep firing! Blow them fethin Wermos!" Shrilled the tiny Ewok.

ATOP THE POWERPLANT
@[member="Thaddeus Creed"] @Mr. Ash

Snick.

A single, great yellow eye opened. Its paralyzing gaze moved down to stare at the commotion below. "Mortals." The metal had been so warm, the air so quiet - the noise of the generators drowning out the clamor of city traffic. Who had disturbed his rest? The building rumbled as something uncoiled itself from the top of the power plant, awakened by blasterfire and the clash of swords. A colossal scaled behemoth rose on its hind legs, spreading out enormous white wings that cast shadows upon those below. A roar ripped the air like thunder and made the ground tremble.

Faenrovon had awoken.

His great yellow eyes stared down upon those who dared to wake him, unwittingly or no. The ants carried little glowing sticks. Tasty ants. Working for the riches of these ants proved to satisfy Faenrovon's desires. He could make himself understood through a limited form of mind communication that they called telepathy. But these riches were not enough to fill the void of his lost brood. He longed to see his young again, to see his mate, to see any of his kind. But the only sight which greeted him was their mangled corpses, lying as the hunters had left them. Desecrated. His brood could have defended themselves. They could have fought and killed. But they followed his commands and remained docile as they were slaughtered like some low-breed kine.

The blame lay before his claws. The duty for vengeance was his. And now... every image he saw of these ants in action, fighting, reminded him of the Desecrators. No longer would the last of the diamon'kine watch from a distance. Faenrovon longed to sear the flesh off of these intruders and turn their bones to ash.

A fire burned in his belly and he unleashed it on those below, spewing the white-hot flames of his rage toward @[member="Diana Moridena"], @[member="Sopher Jakobs"], and @[member="Daella Apparine"].

Nar Shaddaa High Orbit
ORBAT:
1 x Nihilus-class Star Dreadnought (Acerbitas)
1 x Dzu'ari-class Star Destroyer (Dzu'ari)
5 x Subjugator-class Assault Ships (Vegeance, Firing Squad, Blood Funnel, Heir, and Resolve)

This little charade was quite fun to watch. Many of the residents of this particular world happened to own a large number of video cameras, most of them from personal comlinks or other little gadgets. Be that as it may, the groundside intelligence was something to be thankful for. A half dozen feeds were played across the tactical command center. This little center was amazing, making giving out orders as quick as the push of a button and then them being carried out immediately by the Artificial Intelligence system the flagship boasted. Even more so when you could just talk to it. "Aegrus." He called out for the AI. 'Yes, my master?" Came a female, synthesized voice. "Be a darling and maximize the range of our turbolasers. Patch through to the electronic network across the fleet and zero in our firing lines. If there's one thing I know about these Jedi, they will attack at the first sight of us. Destroy them when they come into range, be sure to keep an eye for escape routes as well."
"Your orders are being carried out, master."

And he was done as far as orders were concerned. Being a throne-kept Emperor wasn't his deal, it was far too boring and he got stronger by doing this. Darth Arcis liked to make himself presentable, leading from the front like a true soldier or leader did. His reminiscing of past battles and campaigns came to an abrupt halt as @[member="Rayl Wilded"]'s form materialized in front of him vio Hologram. "My dear commander, I do ask that you refrain from using that wretched name." The Emperor chided, hiding the malice behind his gritted teeth. "And the Empire will take no offensive action in this campaign. We shall only fire if the Republic does."

He tapped the hologram away and continued to watch through the viewscreens at the streets of Nar Shaddaa. A bright smile, hidden by his mask, broke through across his face as the plan was set in motion.

“Run.” Diana said as she noticed the huge expansive maw of the Dragon open its mouth. It was a simple order, one direct towards @[member="Daella Apparine"] and @[member="Sopher Jakobs"], a command that only an idiot wouldn't follow. The plan was still the same, Daella and Sopher would take care of the generator while Diana distracted the enemy...albeit the distraction just got far more difficult.

As the Dragon reared up to breath its massive flames Diana bounded away, the force imbued every muscle in her limbs and she became a blur as she bounded across the platform in front of the generator. As she moved across the flat surface fire burned behind her in a massive arch, striking the ground behind her and swooshing towards where she moved. Quickly Diana bounded over body after body, noticing the sizzling smell of flesh as the Dragons fire burned the remaining Black Sun guards alive.

As she jumped over the bodies Diana snatch several armament belts from the corpses on the ground, slinging them over her chest. From one of them she drew a thermal detonator just as the flames from the Dragon finally died down.

Priming the small explosive Diana pulled back her arm and threw it at the mighty dragon guiding it directly at the beasts face @[member="Faenrovon The Radiant"]

POWER PLANT

A message from @[member=Roland] reached Daella’s comm-device. Yet, she did not react to it. As the dragon, @[member="Faenrovon The Radiant"], landed on the roof, Daella rushed toward the power plant’s entrance. The tremendous flame caught the tail end of Daella’s cloak and hood - singeing the end. Before entering the building, she grabbed the standard Jedi rebreather from her pouch on her belt and put it on, then assist @[member="Sopher Jakobs"] with him. It took only a couple seconds.

Midstride, Daella deactivated and holstered her lightsaber and pulled a couple grenades out of the magic backpack @[member="Sopher Jakobs"] carried. She placed them near the top to easily grab them without thought. Daella pressed the button to open the plant's door. After taking a step into the plant, she heard a snap and a beep. Acting as if warned by the Force, Daella immediately wrapped her arms around Sopher. She rush out of the building and to the right of the door facing toward the building from the outside. She dove as hard as she could with the boy in her arms.

A couple seconds after Daella dove away, the door blew up inside the building. A fireball emerged from the entrance and scorched the rest of her cloak and hood. The wall cracked. Parts of it crumbled. Some debris and rock fell on Daella. One struck her head. She emitted a gasp in response yet still managed to remain conscious. This forced her to roll over and off of Sopher to quell the flame. The result was that she no longer had something to hide her identity if she descended into the Undercity once more. Daella got back up as Diana distracted the dragon.

Without wasting time, Daella tossed the two grenades further into the building. After a couple seconds, they popped and emitted a cloud of black smoke meant to further obscure vision and envelope a lot of space. It could be assume that Daella put on the rebreather for this reason.

Then, Daella upholstered her lightsaber with her right hand and ignited its yellow blade. She yanked Sopher up on his feet and pulled him in as she dashed into the building. She batted some of the blasts away as they began to rain down on the entrance. Not more than a couple meters away from the entrance, Daella dove behind the cover of some heavy machinery. It would provide protection from blaster fire.
The building served as the protective shell of the turbine, generator, and transformer of the power plant giving energy to the shield generator. The amount of noise within would have temporarily deafened Daella and Sopher. Workers within the power station had to wear protective ear plugs and the Jedi did not carry any to this mission. Daella and Sopher would have been unable to hear for quite some time just because of entering the building.

Several turbines dotted the building. Each fed the generator the energy it needed to create electricity at the center of the building. The transformer would have been near the back of the building compared to Daella. Destroying all of one component, the turbines, generator, or transformer, would kill the grid and disable power to the shield generator.

The explosion at the entrance ended up disabling several of the turbines near the entrance. This caused a red light and klaxon to only further contribute to the disorienting nature of the insides of a power plant. Sprinklers activated to prevent fires. The output of the generator dropped a noticeable amount. Brownouts would have been inevitable. A few more missing turbines would have resulted in a blackout due to the power demand of a shield generator for the entire planet.

As Daella and Sopher sat tight behind cover waiting for the a lull in the Black Sun’s fire, she pulled the backpack off Sopher and placed it on the ground.

The drone or droid or whatever was following him was an obvious one, due to the fact that he was on the roof, and looking up at the sky, at what appeared to be a...dragon, raining fire down on the Republic. Good. More distractions for his wicked scheme...that would benefit the Republic and hurt the Suns as a whole. He smiled as he pulled the rifle off his back, and fired a single shot to the droid. Two more, and the small recon droid went down. Roland had to get to work soon, he had a limited window with the Republic coming in and the Suns being occupied so heavily by the impending invasion. A large number of troops were being poured into the street, which meant an abundance of disguises.

A simple drop down and a soldier being dragged into the alley meant Roland had a good chance to grab a straggler who had been lagging behind and snap his neck. No blood, nothing that could be immediately sniffed out. The man looked official enough for a Black Sun soldier, which kind of took Roland aback by a bit. After putting on his uniform and taking his piece of poodoo rifle, Roland checked the man for any ID. He was...Eric. Roland gave off a half smile, for just a tiny second. He discarded the usual, pictures of families and anything that could ID him in case things went incredibly south. Roland himself, had no ID and he could never recall a time where he had been facially recognized at all via software or databases or memory alone. Roland walked to a bunker, and overlooked it for a moment, looking around. Seven guards, more low-end. They partially knew that the Republic may or may not attack the bunkers, or had no idea of them at all. Made sense to provide more infantry and forces to protecting the city rather than the civilians themselves. Not that a typical resident of Nar Shaada was exactly the nicest person in the galaxy. Which is why Roland's conscience didn't scream at him for planning to do this. He began to overlook the bunker, making note of the guard routes and their patterns. They were on edge, which made the task a bit more daunting.

He sighed, resting on a knee, and started to observe the bunker from a good distance away, waiting to see if anything interesting really happened.

The shuttle was approaching the power plant, and approaching fast. Sitting in his seat anxiously the Sith apprentice listened to situation reports as they came in. “Can you make this thing go any faster?” Arcturus barked at the pilot. In response the pilot shook his head and gave a quick “no”, he said trying to focus on getting through the web of allied and enemy fighters. “Arcturus I can’t get you close enough… You’re going to haft to make a combat jump.” The pilot added with a grim tone. Arcturus felt his stomach weaken; he hated jumping out of air and space craft. “Are you sure?” Arcturus barked back. The pilot shot Arcturus a dirty look. The Sith exhaled sharply, “Let’s get it over with.”

With the jetpack strapped to his back, Arcturus opened the side of the shuttle, below the city of Nar Shadda lay thousands of feet below him. He counted down from three then leapt, his body plummeting towards the moon’s upper city. Engines firing to life the jetpack kicked in, giving Acrutus the lift and propulsion needed to land near the power plant. After a few moments of vertigo he made a hard landing on a nearby roof, making a loud clang as his feet smashed into it. Unclipping the straps the Sith ditched the jetpack and used the force to leap to the back entrance of the power station.

Arcturus was greated by several mercenaries who rushed him inside before he roasted alive by a dragon, identifying himself as a Sith he began demanding info. “What’s the sitrep?" He asked looking at one of the mercenaries.

“Three Jedi have made a move to the power plant, one is just a kid, but the other two are making easier work of our defensive forces here.” A mercenary replied.

Arcturus cursed then looked ahead. “Taking a Jedi head on, blaster to lightsaber is suicide. Fire multiple shots at their sides, use sonic weapons and blast radius weapons if you have them as their lightsabers can't deflect these kinds of attacks. Covential blaster fire and explosives will simply be deflected back at your face.” He looked around. "Who is exactly in charge here?"

The first rule of droid warfare was that droids were expendable. As unpleasant as he found his replaceable nature at times, he admitted it was a common attribute of droids. Hence why multiple droids had been dispatched to follow him, not a singular one. The droids continued stalking him as Mr. Ash changed course, redirecting the Taxi to follow the kid. It was time to show him a lesson in humility. Or maybe talk him down. He'd see. Still, he was headed straight for the guy. Uniforms didn't change thermal read-outs, and in this city, you needed to be a bit more subtle than just stealing a nice suit. Hence Why Ash always had his suits tailored. He have, he guessed, about half a minute to catch up to the young wunderkind. Nifty.

"Yes. Padawan Vilgar here." Came the response over the comm.

Aronis piloted his ship around to form up with the rest of the squadron as they patrolled the port side. Shockingly the Sith hadn't even made a move to engage! However, considering their highly agressive nature, he doubted this would last long before they went on the offensive. For now they would protect the Remembrance, then eventually they would probably take a run at the opposing ships. But for now it was a waiting game.

Blessed are the peacemakers
Roland stared up a the hovering droids, and climbed up to a higher level, watching them tail him. It was like a turkey shoot now, open sky and clear visibility. Several of them. So he was being followed. Roland looked downward, as a family who had failed to make it to the bunker earlier was rushing through. Roland frowned at the droids above him, and pointed his rifle downward. Four shots, and it wasn't hard to imagine what happened after that. Roland looked at what to be the oldest man in the family, most likely a grandparent or something of that scale. Soldiers came rushing into survey the scene, and Roland took his eyes away from the cameras, taunting him. He mouthed the words 'Back off or it gets worse' to the camera, smiling at the soldiers as they came, for half a millisecond. Roland held out his arms as he backed away from the soldiers, before stopping. He acted like he was about to tie his shoe, but then turned and grabbed a frag grenade from one of the other soldier's belts. He turned and activated the grenade, and broke the man's neck, preventing him from removing it. He threw it at his friends who had gathered to gander at the horror of the scene, only to meet a deadly end. Blood of children, horrified men and the dead splattered around the area, scouring the area with a symphony of violence and gore. Roland, meanwhile, took the time to slide around an adjacent corner, thanks to Nar Shaddaas's terrible infastructure and the underworld being so densely packed. It made for a confusing mess of alleys and turns, but Roland was not in the know here, so his tail probably knew it better than he did of where he would end up.

Roland honestly had played that one on a whim, and didn't really have any other plans. He hoped that the sacrifice was worth his end goal, otherwise it was all just another deniable story. Not that bodies in Nar Shaddaa truthfully mattered, they'd probably get swept under the rug. But...the droids above him were probably recording him. He looked down at the ground, and gave a grim smile. Oh, this was too good to be true. The man from before, was actually helping him now. He just needed to pull off his coup de grace, his final paintstroke here, and he'd be good to go with it all.

@Mr. Ash

Roland looked up at the camera, giving a thumbs up at it, before sprinting into a building, a dark and empty bar.

He focused on the cameras, following Roland to the bar. it was like he wanted to be caught, to be seen, to...oh. Obvious plan was obvious. This was a publicity move. A false flag operation. Of course, he'd smile for the cameras. He followed the man in. Too many men in uniforms. Digital memory adjusted for height. Three possible targets could be the perp. Lovely. He had to move through the crowd, think fast. He sighed. He didn't even get a name from the damn kid. He brought a hand to his holster. He had one shot. He needed to do this perfect. He hoped....

@[member="Yusan Fenn"]

En route to the abandoned refugee sector Yusan had holed himself up in, Hannibal ordered it to be locked down. Turbolifts shut, doors locked, stairwells rendered inaccessible. The entire refugee sector was now devoid of human life. While his visual scramblers hid his identity from the cameras, it did not take a special kind of science to figure out who the single soul running around that sector was. Yusan was stranded and confined in the lowest levels of the sector, and Nar Shadda's security systems were able to witness Yusan break into the apartment complex and then take refuge in someone's room. Needless to say, Hannibal was no longer taking any chances.

In short order, Hannibal and his rented droid army arrived, encircling the apartment complex. There were four entrances, three of which Hannibal had welded shut as soon as he arrived. He had power to the building cut, rendering all of the electric doors inside useless and unable to be opened. This still wasn't enough, as Hannibal then had his droids fire obnoxious amounts of grenades filled with knock-out gas into the windows of the building, intent on either flushing Yusan out or incapacitating him for capture.

The apartment complex was surrounded by an army of droids. Both the refugee sector and the apartment complex were on as tight a lockdown as could be conceived. Yusan was trapped, but Hannibal waited before he sent droids into the apartment complex. He wanted the gas to spread throughout the entire building.

"GET OUT HERE YA DAMN, DIRTY APE." Hannibal roared through a megaphone, utilizing his mastery of charisma to persuade Yusan to surrender.

PLANETARY SHIELDING POWER PLANT - NAR SHADDA
FEW METERS IN FRONT OF SHIELD GENERATORS

@[member="Arcturus Procyon"] | @[member="Daella Apparine"] | @[member="Diana Moridena"] | @[member="Airal Thamne"] | @[member="Sopher Jakobs"]
Thaddeus grew angry. This Jedi was entirely too persistent. The smoke quickly engulfed the area of the interior. Lucky enough, the commandos Thaddeus had at his side were outfitted for such a thing. They activated their thermal goggles and built-in rebreathers to their suits. Thaddeus also wore a heavy suit that allowed him to breathe normally within the smoke. Thaddeus and the commandos made a half circle formation around the Jedi's last known location. The brightness of the lightsaber coupled with the thermal sights made it near impossible for the Jedi to not be discovered. Thaddeus then looked over to a frightened engineer. "Hey, you. I need you to divert power from non-essential generators into the planet's shielding. We will cover you." Thaddeus said in a hushed tone yet loud enough for the engineer to hear and follow to the letter.

Thaddeus had then taken a few grenades from a commandos belt, Luma grenades to be specific, and tossed a few at the Jedi's location, after cooking them for a few seconds. The grenades would either force the Jedi out of cover or blind them indefinitely. Either way, the Black Sun mercs would have the chance they needed to stun the Jedi with their sonic weapons. The commandos were prepared for such an attack mostly because they were force user hunters therefore they carried with them sonic weapons. Although the Jedi repelled the non-existant blaster fire, the commandos and Thaddeus were locked and loaded and converging on the Jedi's position slowly and silently, with sonic rifles set on stun. When the Jedi were in sight, the commandos would begin to fire stun shots upon them.

Josh listened carefully to the words of @[member="Selena Halcyon"]. It seemed like an idea, but... He had a better one.

"How about this...." The Republic Grand Admiral began. "We fly around Nal Hutta, and land us. Get us so we can be between the ship and their ion cannons once we disembark"

Josh walked toward the window, looking out at the carnage...

"After that.... We could attack The Palace Of Durranga" he said, scratching his beard as he calculated his plan, and pondered their odds of success...

"There, we can capture their Ion Cannons. What then? Use them against Nar Shadda" he said, smirking over at Selena. Josh seemed to be doing well in his new role so far, and was warming up to it rather quickly. Wasn't like it was his first time leading troops, though it was the Grand Admiral's first time launching something so amazingly large scale....

"BUT.... But but but... BUT...." he began. "We have to move quickly. With the planet's rotation, I'm not sure how much time we'll have" the Jedi Master explained, looking back at Selena. "We'll have to move fast, and strike hard. But this might be what we need to turn the tide here"

POWER PLANT

As the mercenaries encroached upon Daella and @[member="Sopher Jakobs"]’s position, Daella sat tight behind the large metal piece of cover. With the smoke, it was difficult to visually identify it. For several seconds, Daella closed her eyes as she reached into the backpack and deactivated her lightsaber.

The power plant featured ten power generators - which in turn fed electricity to the transformer that took the energy to the grid and, most importantly, the shield generator. Each power generator stood almost ten meters tall. They were top of the line and extremely efficient for their size. Just as other generators, they were notoriously susceptible to battle damage. A well-placed blaster shot would have caused them to breakdown and stop working.

The bombs set by @[member="Thaddeus Creed"] and @[member="Airal Thamne"] ended up disabling the two generators closest to the entrance that Daella and Sopher came through. The rest of the generators were still functional. They were separated into two columns and five rows when looking inward from either the front or back entrance, where @[member="Arcturus Procyon"] came through. The transformer sat at the back, far away from Daella.

Each generator and the transformer created a ton of heat. While not enough to cook a human being, it was slightly uncomfortable. A few drops of sweat trickled down Daella’s face. Though, the problem amounted to little compared to how difficult it was to hear.

Once Thaddeus chunked the luma grenades, Daella opened her eyes. She likely sensed what would happen due to how she reacted. Immediately, Daella shoved Sopher away as if to prompt him to take cover. Then, Daella sprung out from cover with the backpack in her hand. She took nothing out of it from earlier.

The luma grenades would have exploded with Daella’s back to them. Not only that, but the thick smoke in the building made what should have been a disorientating, bright flash into more of a dull, orange one that resembled a fireball. Therefore, Daella did not receive the full debilitating effect of the grenade.

The mercenaries would have fired upon Daella. Yet, her speed and agility seemed to be imbued by the Force. Not even a second after emerging from cover, Daella covered the a good chunk of the distance toward the generator to the right of the front entrance looking inward. She quickly slid the rest of the way. She avoided the relatively slow sonic waves rushing around her - though just by a breadth.

However, as she slid toward the generator, the backpack snagged onto a piece of metal. This ripped a hole into the bottom of the backpack. Two spherical grenades from the bottom of the backpack fell out and rolled toward where ever Sopher decided to take cover. They were not armed and would not explode - at least not yet.

Once Daella had reached the disabled generator and took cover behind its massive structure, she placed the backpack on the ground. The hole would have made carrying it impossible without losing the contents of it. She switched her deactivated lightsaber hilt into her left hand.

Without much hesitation though, Daella pulled out a grenade from the backpack and armed it. With as much strength as she could muster, she threw it toward the back of the power plant. It zipped across the distance as if she played sports. The generator still served as a shield between herself and the commandos as she made her move.

The grenade struck the closest turbine to the back-right corner of the building - as if looking inward from the entrance that Daella walked through. As soon as it made contact, the grenade detonated. Yet, it emitted an electromagnetic pulse. This fried that specific generator’s wiring to the transformer - thus disabling it indefinitely.

Seven generators remaining.
