Invasion of Carida OOC

@Topic: It was a shame I couldn't participate in this particular battle, but it's been an interesting read so far. I'll be sure to sign up for the next event as Berkut. Love the Protectorate fleet. :D

[member="Aaralyn Rekali"] Destroyer Captain: I have all these cool turbo-lasers that could individually glass a small city with a single shot, and I have Starkiller's exact position already zeroed in thanks to TIE pilots, but lemme just let him take his sweet time tugging my ship down, and forget to fire as he does so. (Must have been promoted from the stormtrooper corp.)

And end up like this....

Why would you do this to me?

Imperials can't hit flies on the wall with a Turbolaser shot....and a single shot -cannot- glass a small city. Perhaps take out 1/4th a mile, I don't know if that's a small city to you...but that's a quick run for me. :D

Too much action in orbit, need to bring something down to attract attention. :p

and the boots with the fur?

You are going about this all wrong with Sarge.

It ain't the wet t-shirt contest that will draw that attention.

Apple bottom jeans, yes. [member="Aaralyn Rekali"]
This is not some Flo Rida song...and we're not discussing those...

EVER!

But [member="Sarge Potteiger"] this is what you wish you get,

and this is what I'll conjure up for you from Hutt Space:

Yes, I know, I'm mean. >:|

[member="Aaralyn Rekali"] You'd think with super computers powerful enough to plot routes through alternate dimensions, they could manage some simple firing solutions. Glad we don't have to suffer through PID or plot armor like the poor Imps do. And yes, a single turbo-laser shot can glass a city*, nevermind a full volley. Turbolaser Firepower Even by your/sites's standards, those shots would still be leveling entire city blocks, so even OP Starkiller should at least got knocked on his butt from the concussive force of the closer stray shots impact.

Also, shout out to all the TIE fighters attacking in a conga line, kung fu movie style. (*cries*)

*The display of their power has been inconsistent, so I acknowledge I could be wrong, but the point stands they're powerful enough to lay down some serious orbital bombardment on a large area...why didn't the Star Destroyer just attack from orbit...I hate this game.

[member="Blackhot"] This is you:

Fail.

But I still love you. :D

I know the concussive force of the TL blast radius alone would disrupt the Telekinesis and such but in all honesty if they're occupied as they are now, how can they pinpoint it?

Yes, I get the point. Starkiller wouldn't have been able to do that Solo, but then it wouldn't have been as fun. Then again, imagine yourself inside that Star Destroyer with all the systems going ballistic because of the sudden shift downwards. You're not going to be trying to find the source, you're going to be focusing on keeping your butt in the air! There are alot of "What ifs?" and variables to account in, ya know?

Nah, more like:

It's ironic that you mention fun, because this particularl game sequence was notoriously frustrating, one of the most frustrating of last gen. The level fails from a gameplay standpoint (poor instructions, being one long QTE sequence) and it's a jarring experience going from struggling against a single droid, to bringing down a mile long starship while fending off an entire starfighter squadron, then getting your powers cuffed again. More fun would have been had by not including this level at all. I think the KOTOR series job did a much better job of letting you feel increasingly and consistently powerful without going overboard. Its spiritual Mass Effect has a good balance too. The most fun I had was building up a character that was powerful enough to force Kreia into beating herself to death (QTE free!).

Starkiller was the reason the Destroyer appeared, and the TIE pilots could relay his position back to the Destroyer CIC. The Destroyer's shots displayed about the same amount of "accuracy" after being manhandled several times. There's thousands of crew mates on that ship. Starkiller trying to bring down down the star destroyer is no different than being engaged by an enemy vessel. A competent crew will attack and try to maintain the integrity their ship. They know the source of the disturbance, so priority should be taking out the space wizard, but again, PID and plot armor, which was what I was poking fun of in my first response to you. Like you, I don't expect anyone on this board to actually let their ship get dropped without a fight. xD
