OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Inquisitorial Troopers of Faldos, Faldos Guard, Faldos Troopers
  • Affiliation: Sith Order's Inquisition, Inquisitorial Mandate of Faldos, Alisteri Haxim
  • Classification: Garrison Force, Military Police Force, Planetary Defense Force, Rank and File
  • Description: Dressed in their tactical and effective armor, all clad in the same uniform and bearing the sigil of the Faldos Inquisition, and marching as any other military force, one would think the Faldos Guard to merely be your standard Planetary Defense Force or military unit. In reality the Troopers are just as much the wardens of the planet as they are the guardians of it. The Troopers, whether conscripted or recruited from volunteers, all share an attitude of duty and solemn commitment due to their rigorous and strict training. As the soldiers of an Inquisitor they are expected to do as ordered and put down any possible resistance or heretical threats as soon as possible, and they rarely falter in such a duty.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Medium
  • Unit Availability: Common
  • Unit Experience: Recruit
  • Equipment: The typical Trooper is outfitted with the standard-issue ITA-01 armor, a blaster carbine and pistol as well as a stun baton and a pair of stuncuffs, and every four squads is outfitted with a Mailoc Combat Speeder for motorized support and transport. One member of each squad is the designated grenadier and carries a grenade launcher in addition to their standard equipment with breaching grenades, flash-bang grenades, and standard frag grenades for both the launcher and the squad as a whole.
  • Combat Function: The Troopers are a fairly flexible force when used on the battlefield, serving fairly well as typical rank and file soldiers with basic strategies and maneuvers, but their true strength is in a more urban environment or an enclosed area. Close quarters fighting, infiltration, and breaching strategies make them excellent urban combat and siege oriented soldiers. They are mostly meant to act as garrison units and law enforcement however and as such are also excellent for guard duty, crowd control, and as a security force. They are capable of acting as regular soldiers when the need arises but they are best used against lightly armed opponents in skirmishes or short sieges, such as against organized gangs and pirates.
  • Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): N/A
Strengths:
  • Crowd Control: Given that much of their loadouts are meant to be both lethal and nonlethal, the Troopers are fairly versatile when it comes to missions where prisoners or specific individuals need to be taken. They are specially trained to deal with prisoners of both quality and quantity and are outfitted to take them just as much as they are to deal with them. They also excel at dealing with large groups of enemies, using flanking tactics and their grenades to isolate their foes into pockets and systematically eliminate the weakened forces one by one.
  • Bringers of Law: A fair bit of the training that the Troopers receive is geared towards dealing with civilian populations, as they are meant to work very closely with the public and citizenry. The officers of the Troopers are even better trained for public relations and as such the Faldos Guard overall is almost perfect for guarding, managing, and protecting civilian and criminal populations.
Weaknesses:
  • Enemies of Rebellion: While the Troopers are capable of operating in most combat roles, they do noticeably have a lacking quality when it comes to real battles and engagements. From training to equipment the Troopers are simply not meant for a proper battlefield and are most effective as garrison and security forces. They are at their strongest when fighting isolated and weaker enemy units, not armies.
  • Protect and Secure: Despite being trained and equipped for infiltration and breaching duties, the Troopers don't really have any strategies for assault or advancing other than that. Their tactics for such things are simple and mostly reliant on their opponents being outgunned and caught off-guard rather than any real aggressive maneuvers.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
With Faldos falling under Inquisition martial law after the trial of their Sith Order appointed governor, the Inquisitorial Order under Darth Strosius was quickly stretched thin trying to police the world and bring its population into compliance. To solve this manpower issue without having to rely on the rest of the Inquisition, as well as to offer some jobs to the local Faldosians now that almost all of their illicit industries had been either dismantled or nationalized, recruitment of the locals was quickly put into action. Volunteers sprang up at the new opportunity for both good pay and the ability to help stabilize their home, giving the Inquisition occupiers quite the pool of potential recruits.

With the existing soldiers of the Inquisitorial Order under Darth Strosius being shifted to instructors and officers rather than simple rank and file troopers, the training of the new Faldos Guard forces was swift yet strict. Discipline and duty were taught above all else, with many of the more rowdy volunteers and almost all of the conscripted criminals undergoing several sessions of indoctrination in order to bring them in line with the organized and ordered Trooper model.

Faldos would not be the only world that the Troopers would be deployed upon either, as they soon became the bulk of the forces under the Knight Inquisitor Strosius and would serve him as such. Wherever Strosius was deployed to deal with insurrection, organized crime, resistance, and heretical offshoots, the Faldos Troopers would be at his command and would fight just as well on many alien worlds as they would on their own home planet.
