In the Marshes [Training Mission] [Republic]

As Jess flirted a bit with Tallia, Cale couldn't help but narrow his eyes momentarily before he donned a tattered black robe and yellow contacts. He'd take a single saber with him, after all, the last time a black robed figure who'd approached padawans with an ignited blue lightsaber, it had been Darth Vader during Operation: Knightfall. And Vader was someone that if encountered, would probably scare you half to death. For the last touch, he added a scar going vertically over his eyes before turning to the group. He really felt like whining right now, no idea why, but it felt like it would be really fitting.

"Yeah, Sky High." He said with a smirk, pulling up the hood and clipping the saber onto his belt. He knew his preference in targets, after all, it was always fun to mess with his brother's pupils.

Rasu had kind of been hoping he'd want to go along with her plan, before the mission departure, she had made it her sole focus to study the wildlife of Obredaan. She had studied their bone structure and skin pigments to an extent where she could successfully skin shift into a identical copy of majority of the native fauna. A playful grin grew upon her face as she looked up from the map and into the Padawan's deep blue eyes. "Oh I'm not worried about a challenge, it's you who should be worried. I've got a few surprises that the Master's might not be prepared for. Will you be able to keep up with me?" she said as she moved over to the pod's console, inputting the coordinates for the a patch of marshes just left to the remnants of a large city. "Here we go." The pod shot off, entering the planets atmosphere. Rasu quickly strapped herself back in and waited for the pod to make impact upon the soft, marshy ground.

"I was thinking maybe we should explore those ancient ruins Nala, if your capable of trying to land this thing in that area" she said calmly, she wasn't sure if it were true, but she figured most would land in the marshlands, and that place was dangerous especially if they happened to land in a place where they would sink, besides being directly in the maw of the fauna and flora that made this planet their home. "That is only if your up for it?" She questioned not wanting to take the lead. Sochi knew that where ever they landed was where they would land, and the chances were slim, but hopefully with Nala's knowledge of ships etc. she could find some type of way to get us close to that location. Now it was only them two, that was all they could rely on, but they made a pretty good team.

@[member="Nala Tu"]

"I'll try!" she said as she fiddled with the controls, murmuring to herself which one was a break. Unfortunate she wasn't able to keep the pod from landing hard against the planet surface, skidding along the marshy ground as they did. When they finally stopped Nala looked about and said "Well.....at least I landed right-side-up." She quickly unstrapped, made sure Suchi was okay, and then exited the pod to see where they were. They were a few miles off from the ancient ruins, much to Nala's dismay. She quickly helped Suchi out of the pod, taking her hand as she did, before saying "Well we're not exaclty in front of it. But where close."

Tallia stepped momentarily into the cockpit and set a course for the surface. The ship's astromech could handle the landing from there. She quickly walked into the next room, opening an overhead storage bin and pulling out rebreathers for everyone. "Use these in the forest, it will filter the sleep toxins that come from the trees." She then addressed @[member="Vulpesen"] to answer his question. "There are four teams, and five of us, so I was thinking one person to each group, but having two of us go after the group of three." Tallia hoped she was making sense, she tended to get her words twisted around sometimes.

"Sounds like a plan to me." He took the rebreather and placed it under his mask. "So, who gets who?" He liked the idea, but if they all went for random teems, it would be possible for one team to get pegged by everyone, while another has absolutely no one coming after them. As he finished talking with @[member="Tallia Farn"], he turned to @[member="Jessie Volt"]. "And the blades won't be used on the padawans, however they don't need to know that." He smiled under the mask. He enjoyed using the force anyways, and would likely use it to alter the enviroment around them, perhaps even get a few pets to help him out. However, the last tactic would work best against a group of padawans he hadn't met.

Jedi Knight Farn had selected Miri to join Aronis and Phil for the expedition. Together they had gathered into the escape pod and been quickly launched into orbit. Controls were minimal and their landing destination had already been selected for them. Team 4 was heading for the swamp.

"Here we go!"

.....

Minutes later, Team 4's dusty escape pod lay resting firmly in the strong grasp of an eternally large Mosassi Tree. A tangled grey, and slightly petrified, leafless mess. Ugh. Just great. And they were still hanging a few meters from solid ground too. What a mess. Phil unclipped, popped the hatch, and kicked the door open with a heavy boot.

"So. ...Welcome to the team Miri. For today's exercise Aronis will be calling the shots. *wink* ...Just follow close to him and you'll be fine. And nobody be afraid to ask for help. Team sport. We'll get this done. No sweat. Haha."

He closed his faceplate and poked his head outside. They could drop to the ground easily enough.

"Leaving the swamp seems like a good idea. What do you think Aronis? ...You seem like a man with a plan. Where to first?"

Phil smirked. This would be fun.

Her eyes widened, oh Sochi hated flying, it made her feel sick. Good thing she had a pilot with her. They hit the surface pretty hard, and it was extremely bumpy as they landed and skid across the planets surface. Once they came to a stop, Nala turned to her and said at least they landed right side up, all Sochi could do was breath in deeply, and sigh. She shook it off and I strapped the belt. Moaning and groaning from just being shaken up. She reached her hand out to make her way out of the pod. Nala had helped her, and once her feet touched the ground she was pretty relieved. She patted down her robes, and looked about where they were. "Oh Nala you did it! You got us close enough," she said smiling. "I guess were going to have to make the trip, are your sure your okay? Able to make the trip?" She said in a worried tone.

@[member="Nala Tu"]

Nala raised one eye and said "I may be better as a pilot but that doesn't mean I can't walk." She smirked before starting to walk off towards the ruins. As they made the trip Nala had to tap her foot on certain area of the marshy floor to see which were solid and which would likely make them slip or get their feet caught in. Every now and then Nala's robe would drag through the muddy areas and she'd have to yank it up in order to release herself. It came to a point where she said "To blazes with it." and removed her robe, carrying it over her shoulder instead. "Next time they plan a mission for padawans, I'll take the one on a beach planet." she joked.

"I think that is your anxieties talking." Akodya responded, pulling hard on the handles as they broke through the planet's atmosphere. They were coming in hot, but that was to be expected as the world's gravity got a hold of them. Akodya had found a small opening in the vast forestry that judging by the trees around it was solid enough to land on. With her eyes fixed on the beckon Akodya slammed the drag button to add some resistance before preparing the landing gear. As they continued their decent the young healer could see the green mass of marshes and vine forests become clearer and more alive to her.

Within a few minutes the pod shot to the ground nose first like a bullet. The vessel skidded along the soft earth for a few moments, the landing devices digging into the ground. The Pod jerked forward violently before coming to complete halt. Unbuckling herself Akodya stood up from her seat and brushed herself off before making her way to the door, raising an eyebrow at the terrified looking @[member="Valx Raizod"].

"We have arrived."

Valx slammed into the side wall of the pod as they impacted, and just like *that* all of his inhibitions and anxieties were gone.

"Hot damn!" He exclaimed.

He stood up, a little dazed, but stable, and went over to the pod's door. Valx Force pushed the door off of the pod and stepped out. The sun was shining--he could tell that just by the air around him. She had apparently landed in a clearing of the forest. It was a little rough, but he was thankful he didn't get injured.

"Akodya," He called to her, "there is something up ahead, northeast."

He could sense something large, and hear it's...breath. It was an animal. More like a beast... He pulled out his tonfas and ignited them. Valx smirked. This was where the fun began.

Following @[member="Valx Raizod"] out the pod, Akodya was suddenly overwhelmed by a feeling of darkness. A icy chill ran down her spine as the darkness pressed down on her chest, making her feel as though someone was crushing her ribs. Staggering a little as her feet found the soft grassy ground, she quickly regained her balance as Valx called. Quickly craning her head in the direction Valx sensed something, activating her emerald blade with a cautious look in her eyes. Squinting, the girl could see a large silhouette that lurked within the thick forest. The shape was dashing towards them at an alarming rate, which made Akodya tense up a little.

Hesitantly slipping into her usual first stance with her back handed grip raised in front of her, Akodya waited for the thing to make it's move. "Looks like we have our first test..." Akodya muttered.

The initiative shown by @[member="Rasu Gan"] was really interesting, and a delight to see. Not many Padawans were used to think out of the box, they usually did what they were told... and the Republic and the Order was in need of people who had a mind able to have it's own criteria... if the corellian had followed orders he wouldn't have lost his foot in the war at Valen, if he had followed orders, he wouldn't have learned anything.

Vexander looked down at his left foot... and below the boot he could move his toes and fingers moving... the Force was with him at that time, and he knew that the Force would be with them today as well.

The pod began to shake as they entered into the atmosphere, a known feeling but one that always made him wonder what would happen next.

"I am always up for a challenge lady Gan" said the man smiling, not a normal sight but one that could happen ocassionally "Is the area designated for us close to where we are going to land?"

The pod began to shake as they ventured further towards the planets surface. Trying to hold her datapad still against the violent vibrations proved difficult, but Rasu was able to mark a pointer on the coordinates where the pod was supposed to land. Responding to @[member="Vexander Graves"] question she said, "Why do you ask? Don't you trust me?" her cheeky grin returning to her face, her nerves and anxieties towards the mission had been left behind as soon as they hit the atmosphere. Holding out the datapad towards her partner, she said, "Here take a look for yourself. Be quick though, fifteen seconds till impact." Tensing her body, Rasu braced for the imminent shock that would accompany their rough landing.

The collision knocked the breathe right out of her, surprised at how strong the shock was, the Padawan fumbled with her safety strap before finally unlocking it. Standing up shakily, she looked out the viewport, out into the swamp they had landed in. "Pretty isn't it." she remarked to Vexander. Now was the time she had to be on high alert, it wasn't just her life that she had to protect now. Taking a moment to center herself, she took one last glance out the window before noticing a brown smudge slowly crawling up the glass. Realising what was happening she blew the access panel off it's hinges into the swamp. Grabbing her pack and her datapad, she motioned for Vexander to jump out with her. "Hurry Vex the pod's sinking!"

"I trust you young one, is just that I have to know" said Vex while he did a quick glance at the datapad and memorized the coordinates for future reference, his observation skills allowed him to have a good memory and his learning was mostly visual. And luckly, he managed to record in his brain the location in time since he just had a fraction of a second to brace for impact.

The shock was as stubborn as usual, it even sent the wave of impact all the way to his teeth. But it passed fast since Vexander used the Force to ease the shock that passed through his body and the unpleasant feeling that it brought with him. Extending his range, he managed to do the same for @[member="Rasu Gan"], regardless if she could feel it or not.

Within a moment, the young man noticed that they were in a swamp rather than the cold space above. And within a second, he managed to hear Rasu calling at him and urging him to leave the pod since it was sinking. With haste, the young man removed the belt that had him attached to the seat and then he jumped out. Not allowing the girl to stay in the pod waiting for him, he rushed outside and took her by the hand "Come on then! Let's jump!" once he was certain that she would join him, Vex jumped out at the cold water and swam away from the sinking pod as fast as he could to avoid it from pulling them once that it began to sink. Trying to keep his head above the surface, the young man kept swimming with all his strenght while he held Rasu's hand, taking both of them closer to the nearest shore.

Not even reacting when @[member="Vexander Graves"] grabbed her hand, they both leaped out of the pod into the cold mud-like liquid of the swamp. Still linking hands, the pair swam for the shore, Rasu trying to keep her pace with Vexander as he kicked his powerful legs, propelling them through the thick substance. She could see he was struggling so calling upon the Force, she enhanced her kicks to propel her forward, pulling her partner with her. The pair eventually reached solid ground, meeting no resistance on their short journey. Hoisting herself onto the solid patch, she offered to help Vexander out. Lying on her back, Rasu looked up at the sky, reliving the brief few moments since their arrival on the planet. "I'm surprised we didn't encounter any creatures during our swim." she said standing up to get an idea of where they were. She could make out some tall, tower-like structures just over the top of a nearby forest. "Maybe we should head over to those structures through the forest. We could get a better view of the surrounding area and plan something from there. Vex what do you think?" Using her nickname for him, hoping he didn't mind her calling him Vex.

Jedi. How he found them...fascinating. Never killed one, so he found them especially fascinating. A little off in the distance, there was a bright, brief red LED light as Roland activated his Sonar/Thermal imaging goggles, letting the ping off. From the distance, he lifted up his goggles and winked at Vex. He wanted to know how the younger Jedi would react to a more advanced tracker, and if they could somehow shake him. Doubtful, but Roland had lots of experience. He was decked out in full Mark I armor, which meant he meant business. Vex probably could make out the armor and identify him as a GIA agent, meaning that he wasn't going to harm them. Scare the living poodoo out of them, perhaps. Maybe even rough them up, but nothing quite serious. Roland disappeared in a blink of an eye, thanks to the thickness of the swamp's fog.

After several moments, there was a raspy voice several meters from the two Jedi."You should be careful, there's lots of...strange things in the swamps here."Roland moved, making no noise as he moved. He climbed up into a nearby tree, using only his eye to peek out the side, and his other senses allowing him to watch the pair and how they reacted to such a startling surprise. Truthfully, he was making it up as he went. He just wondered how Vex would handle it. If not, he had no problem incapacitating the Jedi and getting off-world.

Iella had arrived on the place some time before the others. She had traveled there on another ship and positioned herself near the Holocron. She is the last line of defence if you will. And has several surprises up her sleeve for when the Padawans arrive. If at all. One of those surprised sits next to her now, keeping her company while they wait. She had no idea what Arrol had planned, but she knew it would be something interesting. She had finished her food and replaced the re-breather in her mouth, it did not take long for the toxins to take effect and she started to feel the onset of sleep. With a few quick breaths through the re-breather she was fine again.

She is heavily pregnant now, and would not do for her to be running around the marshes so this was the best option for her in this mission. She looked up to the skies and could see some of the pods coming into land. Some near and some far. The Holocron, now located on a small island in the middle of a large body of water within the dank part of the marshes. Within the waters are more surprises, but native to the planet, she will also make sure that these creatures do not injure the Padawans, after all they are here for training only. Iella is gifted in Animal Friendship and subduing the creatures will not cause any problem. But lets see what happens.

Valx sensed the lumbering beast sprinting towards them, and turned to @[member="Akodya Mune"], "Akodya, come here, we need to kill this thing!" Valx shouted over the snapping of trees and thunderous foot steps.

The thing at to be at least 10 meters tall. It was big enough that he could feel the ground shake beneath them as it got closer. He telekinetically threw some rocks and trees, that had been snapped in half, at the beast. Nothing. He didn't even flinch. Dandy...

"AKODYA! I NEED YOU NOW!" Valx screamed at her.

The monster was within 20 feet of them and it let out a mighty roar which played havoc on Valx's sensitive hearing. But Akodya was just standing there. He couldn't really see what she was doing but it wasn't productive. He swung his blades out from his wrists and charged at the beast. He closed the distance in a split second and began slashing at the animal's leg. It's skin was thick and tough, but it definitely felt it, which only seemed to tick it off more. He needed Akodya now. What was she doing?
