COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Availability: Uncommon
  • Deployment: Minor
  • Strengths & Weaknesses:
Electronically Locked Armor: The armor of the IDF is electronically sealed to prevent escapees from looting it from any downed guards. This can be circumvented by taking armor from a prison armory, but those tend to be heavily defended from the onset.
  • Crowd Control: While perfectly capable of dishing out lethal damage to unruly prisoners, the IDF typically uses non-lethal force to detain and to suppress. Glob grenades, stun batons, and riot guns are just some of the methods used to maintain order among the lawless.
  • Guards, not Soldiers: The IDF is not a strict fighting force, they are not frontline soldiers. They are merely the guards put in place by the Empire to oversee their prison facilities and to keep the detained prisoners from breaking free.

[*]Description:
The Imperial Detention Force is the collective prison guards, camp overseers, and wardens charged with the upkeep of the Sith Empire's various prisons, work camps, and dungeon ships across their territory. From minimum security installations to the factory-cities of Kol Huro, the sight of these guards clad in black armor has become a terrible symbol of the Empire's oppressive might over those it has deemed unlawful.

Members of the IDF are issues two sets of armor, both for different varieties of security threats. The first is designed for low security, primarily minimum security facilities and other locations deemed not hazardous to the IDF's wellbeing. This consists of Imperial Legionnaire chest, shoulder, and helmet armor alongside the standard riot gun and glop grenades.

High-risk armor involves the full Legionnaire gear with the possibility of lethal weaponry such as the DN-1 Personal Defense Weapon.

In the event of Force Sensitive prisoners, the IDF will often be accompanied by members of the Saaraishash and the Imperial Sentinels. Force Pikes with magnetic clamps will also be issued to the IDF to better combat the enhanced abilities of Force Sensitives.

The IDF has its own hierarchy beginning at the top with the organizations leader who is the Director of the Imperial Detention Force. Currently the Director is also its principal founder Arkoh Grevane.
