OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Age: 3 Years
  • Force Sensitivity: Non-Force User
  • Species: Shuvu
  • Appearance: Easily described with one word of a "Golden" bird, namely due to the variation of browns, tans and some yellow coloration within the feathers. Sporting large brown eyes, and a curved beak. Extremely sharp talons and beak allow for superior avian hunting of smaller animals or critters. Anything ranging from mice, Rats, rodents, and even small animals are easy prey for Ikaros. While small animals are preferred for a better diet, bugs, or insects can supplement it, with fruits and vegetables on rare occasions.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Ikaros - Meaning "The one who reaches the Sky."
  • Loyalties: Atheus, Fierce loyalty to only Atheus.
  • Notable Possessions: None. Unless you count a perch that Atheus provided aboard his ship.
  • Personality: Aggressive, Protective, and almost child like qualities from Ikaros. Like many of its species, Ikaros has a temperament and is very much a "free bird" at heart. One of the many reasons why Atheus has no cage or crate for Ikaros to stay in. Instead having just a designated branch to rest and sleep upon. Otherwise, Ikaros is almost always within the presence of Atheus. If not, he will be aboard the "Falconer" guarding it. On occasion, Ikaros will act like a "child" by not responding to commands, or doing just the opposite of what Atheus commands him to do. It could also take the dead corpse of rodents or other small creatures and leave it on the Hellyni man while he sleeps, or even drop it in front of him as a "gift" while Atheus would be eating.
  • Training: 3 years of training for a Shuvu is not much. Considering the natives of are known for training and breeding these birds so they would be easier to domesticate. There are times when Ikaros doesn't quite like responding or doesn't follow instructions. Feining ignorance or not paying attention to Atheus. However, Ikaros is extremely loyal to the man. Being trained since birth as Atheus did all within his capabilities to follow the traditions of the Nasvali clans and tribes. While there is still much more for the two of them to bond over with in the coming years, Ikaros only follows one man. The Eagle Bearer.
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Combat Function: Ikaros can act as a distraction for Atheus, or target enemies who may be without armor. Namely being able to scratch or pick at their eyes, nose, mouth, or even their hands to prevent the person from using a weapon. Swooping motions or "divebombs" in which Atheus can use to his advantage. Ikaros can also act as a second set of eyes. informing Atheus of people coming for him or indicate in a direction where a mass of people are. While Atheus cannot use mental powers, he can connect to the Shuvu through emotions and the connection they have formed over the few years they have been together. Allowing Atheus to get a better gauge and sense for what is going on. Moreover, Atheus has a unique connection to Ikaros. Concentrating within the force, Atheus is able to see through the eyes of Ikaros. Using his Eagle eyes for extremely long ranged vision from a literal, birds-eye-view.
Strengths:
  • The Pointy End Goes in the Other Man: For a natural creature, Ikaros has extremely sharp talons and beak to be able to rip, and tear into prey or to be used as tools in a fight so then it can defend itself or the bonded individual, Atheus.
  • Till Death: Loyalty unto death for Atheus. As with any others of the Shuvu avian species, they have a bond with a caretaker and they are known for this bond to be lasting the entirety of their life. Ikaros has his bond to Atheus.
Weaknesses:
  • Little Birdie: With hallow bones, small frame, and having no form of other kind of defense or technological advantage, Ikaros is extremely fragile. Someone with a bludgen and a few good swings can severely injure or kill Ikaros. Thus, relying on any defensive measures from his caretaker.
  • Angry Birds: Ikaros is a "Free bird" and could be seen as a wild card. Sometimes not answer to Atheus in situations, or even downright ignoring him. For what reasons? No one will know.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
In the time that Atheus has kept out of the Galactic stage, he traveled to various planets wanting to not just learn of other species, but government and formations of leadership. Hoping to find something, anything that would be able to allow his people to no longer be in an almost constant state of war. One of these planets was Manas. the Avanoa system holds this planet in which the clans and tribes of the Nasvalo rule. It was a chance meeting with one of the Uulvalo that changed his life.

Atheus had been helping a clan with a feud over land. A couple battles and fights in which Atheus proved worthiness to these mountain men. The stature and strength of Atheus matched their way of life. While mostly traditionalists, The aid of their people to a claim of land, as well as presenting a Lightsaber to the Yaria of the Singing Mountain Clan. A gift that would allow this Wind Shaper to continue practicing their art within the force as well as a token for accepting him within their home for a time. In return, Atheus was granted the rare chance of partaking in a ceremony of attempting to take a hatching Shuvu for his own.

Since his departure, Atheus has named the Shuvu Ikaros. Hyllinic native tongue for "The one who reaches the Sky." As the Shuvu are devout and loyal birds, Atheus thought fitting to name the bird after a fabled companion of Arhikos, the god of the Sky.
