I Am Buzz Lightyear. I Come in Peace. [Protectorate Dominion of Athos IV]

[member="Knight"]

"It's a pleasure to meet you as well,"She smiled shaking Knight's outstretched hand. "I'm definitely not anything as impressive as a politician nor would I considered myself a seasoned solider. My husband on the other hand is one of those soldiers and I'm sure he's around this planet somewhere. If I know him working with the military." She wasn't a powerful Force user as of yet, that was a work in progress. She had been more focused on staying out of trouble than developing her skills and even now she had other thing to worry about. "I have often thought of what I want to do with myself other than be a military wife. I want to make a name for myself now that things are more settled."

Her glance went back to that of the children and she couldn't help but smile. "They are, I can't wait to have a few of my own running around. Children really are a blessing." They weren't completely settled but it would have to do for now as they were expecting. Still she wished to work on herself as well.

Knight looked at her, so she wanted to be more then a military wife. "Well there are many things you could be. You could see about being a local minister and putting down roots. Take care and make sure these children with the influence and find yourself. It isn't as bad as I thought it was and Thyferra is closer to the center of the Protectorate." Knight was looking at her now more with a slightly curiosity, she loved learning about people and seeing some reactions they gave to ideas could prove more valuable. "When you have children I am sure they shall be lovely, your husband is a lucky man."

Now followed dutifully behind Mason and Ike, armored boots of his Omega Advanced Combat Armor Mk I clinking against the plates as they head towards the shuttle. It was then Noah heard Ike ask if any of them had been there before. "I haven't been here before but I read a report that a survey team conducted. It has two times the gravity of most terresterial planets and has a lot of areas are destroyed from a massive fuel explosion, they've terraformed it and were able to regain somewhere around sixty percent of it but forty percent is still barren wasteland."

OOC/ Inbound with lots of engineers.

Private Charles cursed as his aim swung to the side. The yellow training bolts zipped across the range and pattered harmlessly across the bulkhead. He curled his right hand into a fist and slammed it down into the surface in front of him. Since Druckenwell he still got the occasional shakes in his right hand. They’d fixed the physical problems from the fall and impact, but apparently this was now a psychological problem.

They had referred to him as the “Accidental Hero of Il Avali” in the news, now he had weekly sessions with the Company Chaplain to talk about his feelings. The chaplains had swapped their theology for psychology, but the old name still referred to those responsible for pastoral care.

Fed up, he dismantled his rifle. He handed it over to the quartermaster as he left, signing the sheet to show it had been returned. Why couldn't he just stop the shakes? It must still be a physical problem, the doctors must have been wrong. His mind wouldn't do that to him would it?

Soon he wouldn’t have time for thinking. It would be another gruelling session of PT. Their ship was taking a lazy route towards Athos IV. The gravity was slowly being ramped up to that of their destination and they had double PT sessions to help them “acclimatise”. Apparently they would be grateful for it, once they were on the ground. Dicer hadn’t thanked any of the NCOs who ran the sessions yet, but at least he’d learnt a new word, he supposed. What he was certain of, was that there was a special place in hell reserved for the Drill Sergeant who had worked out they could alter the angle of gravity to simulate hill climb training.

He passed many members of the Battlegroup on the way to his company’s home. Not battlegroup – Task Force – he mentally corrected himself. They had been briefed on making a good impression on the natives. Hell of a way to make a good impression in Dicer’s book: drop a few thousand sweary army members on the ground.

There was a very different make up to the usual on the transports. Nearly every arm patch identified an engineering regiment or medical company. The infantry were just here for support, the opposite of the usual. The air assault squadrons were all of the search and rescue variety, and there was no armor or artillery in sight.

Apparently repairing thousands of kilometres of shield wall required a lot of man power. The Protectorate had plenty of civvie engineers, but they had families and it cost a lot of credits to send them abroad en masse. There were some civilians aboard, experts who would direct the repairs, but the majority of the engineers hitting the ground would be ODF.

At least this would be a quiet deployment. After this the 5th would be on a training cycle. At least he had a good few months to get his firing arm back before deployment to another combat zone. Curtis decided to grab a cup of caff before his afternoon PT session. He didn’t fancy heading back to his bunk, the squaddies were crammed aboard the ship tight. A tin can packed with the stench of stale sweat, and the constant chorus of cursing. What a lovely way to travel.

The Eternal Queen
Feena sighed and made her way to the shuttle to take her to the planets surface.

"I've never been there either. It sounds wretched."

Twice standard gravity would be an annoying thing. It would not be very fun but she had to admit it was exciting to be on a new world as she walked with her hand behind her back and looked at Feena. "We will have to see and adjust accordingly. One never knows what can happen o adventures like these."

Athos IV
Objective: Study the Shattered Lands

Aeron Kreelan’s pale blue eyes would narrow upon the information relied to her via her datapad console. Brows would furrow as her thumb would sweep across the screen, dropping and dragging the various memos in regards to the Shattered Lands. Key points, scouting information, holomaps.

And Omega Pyre scouting party had been hired to investigate and study the Shatterered Lands further, perhaps even bring back some samples and new notes of the area.

It would be a small group, but that would be more than enough. She didn’t want to stand out like a sore thumb.

They had a mission to complete afterall.

Give Medical Aid to the Sick

"Oh wow!" would come Kaile's melodic voice in interest. A subtle movement of green would move over her shoulder, until two black beady eyes would peek from the depths of chestnut hair.

Bobo, her bestest friend in the galaxy was just getting a bit of fresh air.

Needless to say Athos IV was a rather interesting place, enough to stir Kaile's interest. However, her duty for the day was to help with the sick. So here she was in a small transport, holding a datapad that would show her the information of the Defense Force scouts.

Of course, she was kinda focusing on the flora and fauna of the planet instead.

"Oh now that is shiny!" she'd say over a particularly pretty bright blue flower.

Aeron went underway with her section of the Pyre group. Enroute, she motioned for the more scientifically prone scouts and soldiers within her group to start preliminary scans.

These included such things as flora, fauna, any notable bio scans of known sapients, and geographical surveys.

This was to ensure prospective resource areas for any future endeavours of the Protectorate, to be paid of course in turn, to the local population.

En Route to Athos II
Objective: Heal the sick.

The Cerean sighed as he sat in the transport. He had been a pilot for long enough. He didn't have his ship anymore, no doubt it was scrap by now. But the Protectorate had ships. All he needed was a starfighter. Was that too much to ask for?

This new galaxy was strange. He had been captured by the empire and slept for eight hundred years. He awoke to a new world where they said they won. And the end of the world as they knew it came about. The government he had fought for was gone. But there were new ones, so many, but he had sided with the local one. The one he lived in. He was a solider again. A medic. And now he was headed to some force-forsaken rock where he would try and save lives. Not that he didn't like the last bit. He did.

He just didn't know about the planet itself.

"I really like that idea. I do want to put roots down somewhere as I am really sick of running. A nice happy family and me being able to actual help others. The idea is very appealing to me but I don't even know where to begin. I don't know the first thing about being a politician or running an office. Would you be able to help me?"

Keziah wanted to very much do something to help her family. It was obvious she wasn't much of a solider but she could help. She had been there herself and she could talk to those whom came from similar backgrounds. She could maybe open a half way house or something along those lines in the future. First step was figuring out how to get though all the red tape to do just that.

She had been in the same situation and it had taken the Lord Protector offering her a chance on Thyferra to get her to settle down. She thought about it though and gave a nod of her head to that. "I can yes, it took the Lord Protector asking me to step up. It got me to settle down and think about the future rather then my own goals. The first step is looking to the people of the world and seeing what they need, how you can best make their lives better and then you go from there. Work for the people, show them you deserve to be in charge and never take your position for granted." KNight kept walking and held her smile on her face looking at the people.

Returning to the field medical center l, now with dozens more patients. He escorted them to the appropriate tents and his teams got to work. He took a few patients of his own and unloaded his bag of medical supplies and got to work on treating injuries and sicknesses. He was dealing with a serious heart attack when another came in bleeding from his mouth and ears because of a hemorrhage in his brain. He left an attendant with the heart patient and set up the O.R. tent for surgery.

"35 year old Zabrak male, head trauma due to a collapsed building. Scouting team found him near the south side. His name is Haden."

"Haden, I need you to listen. I'm going to operate on your brain, you've suffered a head injury that is leaking blood into your brain. I need to release the pressure and drain the blood. I'm going to put you under, is there anything before we start?"

"Please...my daughter... She is still back there... Where they found me. Under the rubble... Please..."

As the anesthesia kicked in, he drifted into a deep sleep that would allow Nyos the opportunity to access his brain to stop the bleeding and drain the fluids building inside Haden's skull.

"Making the first cut, I want clamps in the vessels as soon as we're in. Get me a Bacta drip going, set it to 10cc's. I want all security officers out looking for his daughter. Someone find out her name and what she looks like. I want the first thing for him to see when He wakes is her face... I'm in, clamps now... Close those vessels. Aright draining...

....2 hours later...

"We have the blood drained and the vessels have been stopped. Close him back up. Stop the anesthesia, any reports from my security detail?"

"Sir, they've found the girl. She has no injuries outside of a few bumps and bruises. She's waiting in your tent."

"Bring her here, and get them food and water when he wakes up." Nyos left his team to clean up. He went to wash the blood off himself.

As he walked back out from the sanitation tent, he saw the young Zabrak, he found out her name was Visli. She sat beside her fathers bed, waiting for him to wake up. As his eyes opened, hers swelled with tears of joy and relief. She hugged him, he hugged back. They both cried and talked and laughed and ate when the orderly brought food. Nyos stood watching as a gurney past with a covered patient. The heart attack victim didn't make it. Had he stayed, the man may have survived but Nyos had to live with the choice he made and he knew in his heart if was the right one. Lost in thought, Nyos stood, frozen in time, watching a father and his daughter celebrate his survival, but a family across the field mourned the death of another that couldn't be saved.

"A cruel life we live in. We let many die to save one or two." He said to no one. "But if these are the moments that follow those who Do survive, it's worth it in the end."

The Pyre group stopped at the first location. The more scientific of the bunch in S.A.A.T went off to do geological surveys while Aeron began waving the rest of the Pyre group to start a defense perimeter.

She wasn't keen on getting some unexpected surprises.

They would set up the north area first, following in a clock wise pattern until everything was secured, leaving it up for the scientists to do their datamining.

A Cerean? Huh, how curious, mused Kaile with a notable wonder in her chocolate brown eyes. She'd yet to see a Cerean in person, and her curiosity was rather evident. Friendliness would wash over the woman, so with a Bobo on her shoulder, the young woman went along to say hello.

And hello she did!

"Hi there!" came the chipper greeting along with a wide smile. "Names Kaile." she'd then point to the miniature ysalamiri on her shoulder. "This is Bobo!"

"I would like to settle down and do something with myself. I don't want to just be a mom but my own person as well. I believe this may be a step in the right direction. He has his thing so, I also need a thing of my very own. Thank you for any help that you can give me. I very much appreciate everything."

[member="Keziah Denko"]

"It is what I am here for, now come we'll get to the medical area and help the people while figuring out how best to get you into position. We'll need to know the local customs and government as well as the holidays so you can best intigrate and converse with the people. The Protectorate is great but change is not always enjoyed, not always welcomed. The people might be peaceful but you could be going against someone who wishes to remain in power." She offered a small smile to that though and moved her hand to place it gently on the girls back more as a friend. "Besides we need to make sure your grromed nicely for the Lord Protector, I am sure he wouldn't have issues with someone willing to step in and help the people here."

Objective: Study Athosian History & Religion

Never say that a Corellian wasn't keen on studying up on history and religion. They had their own quirks and some thoroughly enjoyed a bit of education now and then, despite stubborn streaks that ran bone deep.

Corellian Jedi were no different, and in this, the green cloaked elder male would find himself happy to immerse himself in. The first step was in locating where the bulk of Athosian history and religion would most likely be collected with. As a diplomat of sorts, simple conversation and mingling did the first trick, in learning from the inhabitants of Athos themselves.

One geological survey down, a whole heck of a lot more to go. This one excursion so far had revealed that there were mineral and potential fuel deposits of various types. Further research could pin point exactly what they were talking about there.

With this area secure, Aeron and the rest of the small scouting group would continue on to the next area to get a geological survey on.

It appeared that the Cerean wasn’t too keen on talking much. Kaile would rock a bit uncomfortably on her heels. She would then give a small sniff at herself by her pits. Did she smell? She took a sonic shower today!

Okay, no icky B.O smell. Huh, perhaps… she just didn’t want to talk.

“Well Bobo… guess we should get on with those medical supplies,” she would say to the minature ysalamiri upon her shoulder.

With that, she was off to do just that.
