APPEARANCE: This woman is typically dressed very well, finer garb and makeup abound as she walks the decks of The Stargazer. Her eyes are of a pale cream color, lacking a pupil due to her two altered eyes. Her Left Spy Eye and her Right ID Eye are post-modifications to her manufacturing.

BIOGRAPHY:
The Record -

By public record, Jalan is the daughter of Breiv Riyadosh. He, an old money stock monger and Alma Riyadosh, his college sweetheart with health complications. Due to her mother's medical condition of osteogenisis imperfecta, Jalan was conceived in a test tube, to avoid any complications to her mother. After being born, she was sent abroad to study across the sector. Biological alterations were made to Jalan throughout her life to remove the chance for her to be a victim of osteogenisis imperfecta. Which is why she appears as a cybernetic being.

Her 'parents' were loving, though after an accident with a driver, Alma was put into a medically induced coma without the possibility of being revived without serious risk of going into shock upon revival. Their daughter returned from off-world schooling to find her father selling off everything to fund a project for his daughter to pursue for her late mother.

The Truth -
Jalan is a human replica droid that was created by Breiv when he sent for scans of his wife to be saved and made into a replica. He had an identity falsified to allow her the ownership of the vessel that he made from his late wife's artwork. The droid is acting as a ghost in the machine for his beloved's dream of seeing the stars, her conditions rendering her unable to safely travel through the stars without special equipment.

[2 Weeks After Alma's Accident...]
[Begin Journal Entry of Briev Riyadosh...]

  • My therapist suggested keeping a log of what has happened since the accident. Give me something to ground myself. To make myself accountable and help remember. Also suggested I do something constructive. What can I do though?
  • All I've ever done was manage stocks and make sure I had a profit coming in. She was the creative one. Always drawing or looking through the telescope before painting.
  • Static as though someone attempted to delete and then restore the dialog in haste*
  • Constructive. Well, after I had gotten through the shock of her accident, and fired the incomp-no. Quit being angry and move on. Hired a company to take every kind of scan imaginable of Alma. Promise they can do something with it...
  • If the chance exists, I'll break the bank to make it happen.

[5 weeks after Alma's Accident...]
[Begin Journal Entry of Briev Riyadosh...]

  • Therapist noticed a marked improvement in my demeanor after a few weeks of making these journals. Said I looked halfway regular. I hate to admit it, but I don't feel as helpless as I did.
  • Took his note to do something constructive. Had a quote done for a vessel based on one of Alma's painting. It was an old painting, from our college days. Something that stuck out when she talked about seeing the stars firsthand. Something I should have done instead of making excuses to not go.
  • The company that took the scans called me, said they were making progress. I don't know if I should dare hope, but I made up some details for the droid they were making of her scans. Public identity will be our daughter.
  • I don't know if it would make her happy, but it's what I could do since I can't wake her up to even ask.
  • Don't hate me for this my dear. Please don't hate me. I miss you.
[End of Entry...]

[10 weeks after Alma's Accident...]
[Begin Journal Entry of Briev Riyadosh...]

  • Quote came back, but a thought struck me. I don't have any intent on going to space. Sending off the droid-ach! Jalan. Got to get used to calling it by name now. I don't plan on leaving with Jalan and it the whole thing has to be self sufficient.
  • I'll have to think on it. Make it bigger. Make everyone see your dream, honey.
  • Let everyone see what you wanted to see. That I didn't take you to see.
  • I-

[14 weeks after Alma's Accident...]
[Begin Journal Entry of Briev Riyadosh...]

  • Therapist says I need to quit fixating on the accident. Quit thinking altogether if that is what it takes. A suggestion they made though caught my attention...Go take a trip, a hotel, resort. Something.
  • Made me think about the ship.
  • It has to pay for itself, for fuel, repairs.
  • If it is a space fairing cruise liner or something like that...that might just work.
  • It will have to be big. I will have to send back updated...this really could work though.
[End Diary Entry...]

[21 weeks after Alma's Accident...]
[Begin Journal Entry of Briev Riyadosh...]

  • Sent updated idea to the shipyard for the design and layout of the ship.
  • While some things I wouldn't bend on, I allowed them to suggest other materials or functions as they pleased.
  • The cost is going to be massive I am sure, but timely payouts and returns out to suffice.
  • Have not heard anything about the-about Jalan yet.
  • I am starting to get anxious. Wondering if I didn't get scammed. Will have to send them an email.
[End Diary Entry...]

[23 weeks after Alma's Accident...]
[Begin Journal Entry of Briev Riyadosh...]

  • The droi- Jalan. Krark you need to get better about that.
  • I started crying at the door.
  • I...I don't know if I can look at...her...while this process is going.
  • Looks just like Alma. Well, if you don't look at the plain augmentation signs.
  • Is this what our actual daughter would have looked like?
[End Diary Entry...]

[28 weeks after Alma's Accident...]
[Begin Journal Entry of Briev Riyadosh...]

  • Jalan asks about her. Wants to know more about her...mother.
  • It...actually feels....good to talk with her about you.
  • Clears my head. Let's me, well, think.
  • I didn't think I would enjoy this. Or even be remotely happy with Jalan.
  • I think it is her smile. Your smile.
[End Diary Entry...]

[31 weeks after Alma's Accident...]
[Begin Journal Entry of Briev Riyadosh...]

  • The building has started on the Stargazer.
  • Jalan likes the large room at the front of it.
  • Says she will do a lot of painting there.
  • Asked her what she meant, and she showed me that she had been painting.
  • I had to excuse myself for the rest of the evening, seeing her using Alma's studio.
  • Why did I do this to myself?
[End Diary Entry...]

[33 weeks after Alma's Accident...]
[Begin Journal Entry of Briev Riyadosh...]

  • Went shopping with Jalan, and the store staff stuck out to me.
  • There would be too much overhead if the staff were biological.
  • Have to make the staff droids. But-
  • More from where Jalan came from. At least the public ones.
  • Even basic security in great numbers should do.
  • But what about recharging?
[End Diary Entry...]

[36 weeks after Alma's Accident...]
[Begin Journal Entry of Briev Riyadosh...]

  • Jalan helped me look around for droids to add to the staff list.
  • Likes a few of them. Sent the updated specs to Roble for added AI software.
  • Lots of startup cost, but low maintenance costs.
  • Had to sell half my stock dividends to cover the cost of all the droids we picked out.
  • I already have most everything set aside for the cost of The Stargazer, but the added AI might set me back a-
  • It does not matter. Jalan needs this to see the stars for Alma.
[End Diary Entry...]
[39 weeks after Alma's Accident...]
[Begin Journal Entry of Briev Riyadosh...]

  • Added an order for security droids.
  • Almost forgot about the karkin security.
  • Went over an old holo collection of Alma with Jalan.
  • I wish she was our actual daughter.
  • Maybe...no.
  • I wasted too much time on frivolous things and thoughts.
  • I can not do the same now.
[End Diary Entry...]

[48 weeks after Alma's Accident...]
[Begin Journal Entry of Briev Riyadosh...]

  • Therapist is confused when I speak about Jalan.
  • I forget that certain people know better. Know Alma and I did not have a child.
  • Pass it off as a new pet that I picked up.
  • Still making comments about improvement in mood, but marked concerned about projecting my feelings on the cat.
  • Why do I hide this?
  • Wonder if I should tell them and quit lying.
[End Diary Entry...]

[52 weeks after Alma's Accident...]
[Begin Journal Entry of Briev Riyadosh...]

  • Hospital called about payment.
  • I was confused until I checked the account.
  • Had yet to receive some payouts, and had to sell off some inane things from my estate.
  • Will have to go over projected costs tonight and quit putting it off.
  • Spending time with Jalan helps though.
  • Would actually be good to show her this information though.
  • Help her learn instead of leaning on an AI to do it.
[End Diary Entry...]

[60 weeks after Alma's Accident...]
[Begin Journal Entry of Briev Riyadosh...]

  • Finances are starting to get tight.
  • Sold off more things around the estate.
  • Therapist noticed I am...oh what did they say.
  • I think they said sinking?
  • The cost of manufacturing the Stargazer is starting to add up.
  • More than I had planned, but it has to stand on its own.
[End Diary Entry...]

[62 weeks after Alma's Accident...]
[Begin Journal Entry of Briev Riyadosh...]

  • Final payments on the Stargazer are done.
  • The house is almost barren.
  • Made several long term payments on the hospital maintenance for Alma’s bacta pod.
  • Should last until the Stargazer sets out.
  • Roble is doing a marvelous job, and Jalan enjoys the updates.
  • I think she knows what I plan to do when she leaves.
[End Diary Entry...]

[68 weeks after Alma's Accident...]
[Begin Journal Entry of Briev Riyadosh...]

  • The droid staff have begun to arrive at the yard.
  • They are being stored for the moment until the ship casts off.
  • Could have stored them here for all it mattered. The house looks deserted other than essentials for me.
  • Jalan learned how to cook for me since I stay up so late checking everything.
  • Set up an account for her, and a separate one for the Stargazer.
  • Permanent order on file using her account for replacements in case of the worst.
[End Diary Entry...]

[72 weeks after Alma's Accident...]
[Begin Journal Entry of Briev Riyadosh...]

  • Jalan is concerned for my health.
  • Asked why I stopped seeing my shrink.
  • Told her I didn’t like them anymore.
  • She took the lie.
  • She really is just like her mother.
  • Poor girl. I am going to miss her.
[End Diary Entry...]

[74 weeks after Alma's Accident...]
[Begin Journal Entry of Briev Riyadosh...]

  • Jalan left.
  • The ship and everything with it is done.
  • Told her to set a course for the stars and not look back.
  • Hospital called and asked what I wanted to do.
  • Told them I would be there in a bit.
  • I already have everything set for the end.
  • I am so, so very sorry. To both of you.
[End Diary Entry...]

[Holonet news report]
Briev and Alma Riyadosh passed away today. Alma Riyadosh passed away today when her life support was, with permission's, shut of by her husband. Briev Riyadosh stayed with his wife until she passed, a testament to perseverance. Briev however, passed away shortly after by means of a poison pill. Arrangements for both of their funerals was already made, making clear that Briev's suicide was premeditated.

Both are survived by their daughter Jalan Riyadosh, who now sets her sights to space to live out her late mother's dream of seeing the stars. The young woman was heartbroken by her parent’s passing, but gave us this heartwarming message.
“I can only hope to pass on the wonder that my mother had at seeing the stars firsthand. And now, I offer the same to the public aboard my mother’s ship.” The young lady makes a sweeping motion towards the large vessel.

“The Stargazer. Come share in the dream that my mother had.”
