SPECIAL FEATURES
- Exceptionally lightweight
- Very protective against environmental hazards
- Can self-camouflage
- Inbuilt, toxic claw blades
- Second Skin: House armor is incredibly light, form-fitting, and comfortable to wear. Its effect on its wearer's mobility is negligible.
- Lurker: The armor is capable of changing its color at will. This can allow the user to more easily hide in the shadows, though will not fool extravisual sensors of any kind.
- Skill Issue: House armor is designed not to hamper its wearers' natural agility rather than provide excellent protection. Its protective value against most common small arms is relatively poor.
A catch-all name for the attire worn by members of the House of Mists and Shadows, this armor is most often seen utilized by that cult's artisan murderers.
While it has taken many forms over the ages, most modern examples of this armor are composed primarily of Shadeweave. This allows the wearer an unparalleled degree of maneuverability and comfort, while still providing some light protection from small arms.
The arms and legs are mostly covered by a single layer of Shadeweave, while light, concealed Helsteel scales cover the user's torso, providing moderately increased protection from damage to the vital organs.
Nonetheless, the armor will not hold up to heavy or sustained attack, requiring the wearer to rely more on their own skill and agility to evade damage.
The forearms are protected by thin but strong Helsteel gauntlets, and are arguably the most heavily-defended part of the body. These can allow the user to defend themselves from bladed weapons, and often sport blades or clawed fingertips of their own. To facilitate camouflage, these gauntlets are covered by a thin layer of Shiftsteel. Quite often, the armor's footwraps contain bladed toe-tips as well, increasing the lethality of the user's kicks. In either case, these blades' Helsteel construction renders them both unnaturally strong and inherently toxic to most living things.
The whole garish panoply is inevitably rounded out by a House ritual mask. No two of these are alike in appearance, but most are more than they appear to be. These typically include inbuilt rebreathers, though seldom any systems more advanced than this.
The armor provides superb protection against environmental hazards, however, rendering the user highly resistant to heat and cold (natural or weaponized), as well as protecting them from radiation, most inhaled poisons, or vacuum.
