- Name: Hornet
- Designation: Non-sentient
- Origins: Valrar
- Average Lifespan: Three Galactic Standard Hours
- Estimated Population: Planetary
- Description: Birthed from Horde Matriarchs, Hornets are insidious insectoids that are designed to swarm through the air to attack prey with their stingers and acidic saliva and defend their mothers.
- Breathes: Type I
- Average Height of Adults: .5 meters
- Average Length of Adults: 1.2 meters
- Skin color: Black and brown
- Hair color: No hair
- Distinctions: The most distinctive features of the Hornets are the long stinger that was added by the Lady of Secrets in their creation, and the powerful wings that propel the spawnlings through the air.
- Races: No other races
- Force Sensitivity: Non-Sensitive
Strengths:
- In creating the offspring spawned by the Horde Matriarchs, the Lady of Secrets decided the original Wasps were far too slow. The new Hornets reflect this belief in a smaller and more streamlined appearance, along with a stronger set of wings that allow them to fly faster, longer, and cover greater distances.
- Like the old Wasps, the new Hornets retain the ability to eject acidic saliva, although this acid is far more potent than the Wasps. It can easily eat through durasteel, and while it won't immediately eat through beskar and phrik, it can damage the metals.
- A new addition for the Hornets is the large stinger they sport from their thoraxes. Hornets can fire this stinger at enemies, injecting them with a venom that can cause localized numbness and paralysis, or land on a victim and stab them with it. The muscles of the thorax have been modified to allow the Hornets sufficient force for their stingers to punch through lighter armors.
- While far more dangerous than the old Wasps, the Hornets are still unarmored and can die from even a glancing blaster shot.
- Because of their forced gestation period and accelerated growth, Hornets have a maximum lifespan of three hours. Once they reach this time, they will die and their bodies will disintegrate.
- Force Light and other direct applications of the light side will immediately kill them.
- Their new stingers might be dangerous, but they cannot pierce through heavier armors.
- Diet: Due to their lifespans, Hornets do not have the chance to consume many meals. However, if they do feed, they prefer meats melted into a goo with their saliva.
- Communication: Hornets do not have any means of communicating themselves, but they can understand commands from their progenitor and through the Sith language.
- Technology level: No technology level
- Religion/Beliefs: No religion or belief system
- General behavior: In their brief lifespans, their entire behavior is dictated by one overriding instinct: protect the Horde Matriarchs. They are fiercely protective of their mothers, swarming anything that might threaten its life or attacking what the Horde Matriarchs or Sith have deemed as prey. They also act in a secondary function of providing Horde Matriarchs fresh meat to consume and scouting suitable locations for the mother creature to burrow and rest in.
In accordance with the request by the Emperor's heir,

The new Hornets, while smaller than the Wasps, are far faster and streamlined in their design. Stronger muscles and wings has increased their flight time and speed, allowing them to swarm enemies faster and further awya from their progenitors. The acidic saliva they produce was further enhanced through Sith alchemy to be more potent than before, eating through tougher materials easier. In addition, a new weapon was created for the Hornets, a stinger that carries a paralytic venom that would make enemies and prey helpless to a swarm of Hornets unleashed upon them by the Sith.
