  • Structure Name: HoloNet News Headquarters
  • Classification: Office Building
  • Location: Galactic City, Coruscant
  • Affiliation:
  • Accessibility:
    • Located near the Senate District of Galactic City, on the ecumonopolis of Coruscant, the HoloNet News Headquarters is about as close to the heart of galactic politics and happenings as could possibly be, and this is by intent, given its nature as a news organization. Generally not open to the public, with the exception of guided tours, or other such visitors, a verified HNN Pass is required, identifying the owner as either an employee of the corporation or some other authorized personnel, in-order to enter the building. Guarded by a variety of sophisticated security systems, and physical officers to an extent that most ordinary people would find it incredibly difficult to waltz in undetected, it is nevertheless in a very high traffic part of Coruscant and if one has any reason to be present there, it is a very easy building to find, with the company logo even brightly illuminated on the side of the building come the later hours of the evening.
  • Description:
    • Not a stunningly tall building by the standards of Coruscant, the HNN Headquarters would for most other planets be considered an impressively vertical skyscraper, one which is distinguished from its neighbors by its majority glass exterior and noticeably sharp angles, in comparison to the typical Coruscanti trend of scarce windows and far more curved features. At night it lights up to a far greater degree than many other buildings in its vicinity, with powerful floodlights drawing attention to it from all directions, and a series of bold HNN logos lining the sides of the skyscraper. Closer to the ground, it is surrounded by small courtyards and parks, all of which fall under the primary building's property, and most of which are open to the public in contrast to the more closed nature of the actual building itself. It has one main entrance and exit at its front, which consists of three massive doors that connect the exterior courtyards to the building's main lobby.

  • Rooftop Terrace:
    • At the very top of the building lies HNN's famous rooftop terrace, a place where many of the organization's guests and employees go to relax and take in the impressive surrounding sights of the Galactic City skyline. Known in households galaxy-wide due to it frequently being used as a backdrop for certain news reports, the terrace boasts well groomed gardens, and a bountiful amount of seats and tables to enjoy lunch at.
  • Recording Studios:
    • Found spread across the lower floors of the headquarters, these recording studios are general purpose in nature, and can be used for any variety of purposes that HNN, or its parent corporation GalactiCom Holocommunications requires them for. More often than not it is the parent corporation making use of these facilities, utilizing them for unrelated entertainment shows and talk shows. However HNN has also been known to lease them out to third party sources, or to support some of its own non-news related productions. They are well-equipped, and full of advanced gear
  • Executive Offices:
    • The work spaces of the organization's most high ranking employees and greeting areas for visiting high-profile guests are located just below the rooftop terrace, in the upper floors of the HNN Headquarters. It is in these professionally-- though somewhat lavishly-- decorated office spaces that HoloNet News' most important decisions are made, from future company policy to daily management. These offices look as expensive (it isn't uncommon to see exotic decorations brought in from home) as they are and are typically off limits to most.
  • Dressing Rooms:
    • Less confined to any one particular area of the building, and more commonly found spread out across any number of floors and studios. The dressing rooms of the headquarters can either be found as small, individual components, usually reserved for more important news reporters and other celebrities, or as larger communal spaces, where small groups of people can get ready to look good for the cameras. They'd look as one would expect dressing rooms to look, and there isn't much else to say about them.
  • Ground Floor Lobby:
    • Debatably the most visually impressive part of the building, only rivalled by the rooftop terrace, HNN's ground floor lobby took inspiration from many of its parent corporation's facilities, in using large, open room designs and a mix of traditional and modern stylistic designs to truly leave an impression on employees and visitors alike. An incredibly large room, it connects directly to the main entrance, and is decorated with small ponds, pieces of the organization's history lining the walls and large wall-mounted screens showing HNN news as it happens live. It is also where reception, and the ground floor elevators are.
  • Employee Services:
    • Spanning a number of floors, each interconnected relatively seamlessly compared to most other parts of the building via a series of vertical walkways, employee services specific elevator networks and so forth, the Employee Services section of the HNN Headquarters is the term given to the area that holds the building's food hall, which contains a number of different restaurants and cafes dedicated to serving those within the property limits and accompanying visitors, as well as its external speeder landing pads and docking areas, which both allow easy access to Coruscanti taxis, as well as personal speeder use and deliveries.
  • HoloNet News Studios:
    • Near the heart of the building's vertical layout, in-between the executive offices above and the recording studios below, the HoloNet News studios is where the organization's primary function happens. Most things from actual filming, to information gathering, fact checking and dispersing happens on these floors. Composed of large filming studios, audio production facilities, communications rooms and so on, the layout of each floor can be entirely different from one another depending on its dedicated function.

  • Medium:
    • Protection for HoloNet News Headquarters is provided by Nakaioma Security Services, a subsidiary of Nakaioma Defense Dynamics, itself a sister corporation of GalactiCom Holocommunications. Given the relatively low risk nature of the property, and the smaller probabilities that it will face any serious dangers or infiltration attempts, there is a generally moderate level of physical security presence, with a medium-sized detachment of lightly armed Security Officers and Security Technicians assigned to the building at all times, along with additional ordinary security equipment like Internal Security Cameras, Togawa Intruder Detectors and Okiru 864 Safes to protect sensitive physical documents or other valuables. Most of the building's high-level security exists in the cyber and digital realms, where advanced Tokai Biohexacrypt Modules and Network Intrusion Countermeasures exist to defend against any slicing attempts on HNN networks. Like all Nakaioma-insured properties, in the event of a major threat, a rapid response team of Security Enforcers can be deployed to the building at a moment's notice, and exclusive HNN Passes are given to employees, which allow them access to the building, and which can only be used on certain floors depending on their personal authorization level.

Recently acquired by GalactiCom Holocommunications; the HoloNet News Network was in need of a new headquarters from which to base its expanding operations, as part of the acquisition deal struck between the two entities, GalactiCom stepped in to provide them with the location. Choosing to build a new headquarters from scratch, as opposed to simply purchasing or renting out existing space, a move that was either a show of commitment from the new parent company, or a more cynical move to grow its real estate foothold on Coruscant following the sudden attack on the ecumonopolis from the Brotherhood of the Maw. Regardless, a contract for the construction of the building was awarded to Nakaioma Heavy Industries, as one might expect given their status as sister subsidiaries, and while the construction of the building proceeded relatively quickly and without incident, the end product did end up going over GalactiCom's expected budget, and the subsequent negotiations between them and NK Heavy Industries eventually stalled to the point of intervention being required from their own parent corporation in-order to prevent a delay for the building's grand opening, a highly anticipated affair for both GalactiCom and its parent.

More expensive to construct than they would have liked, GalactiCom hopes to reconcile their relatively moderate losses by assisting HoloNet News in renting out portions of the building to both third party groups as well as GalactiCom itself for use in their own media productions, as well as the eventual profitability from HoloNet News, which it expects to become viable within a span of months, given the impressive work it has already been accomplishing on its own. Part of the acquisition deal, the parent company has largely left the management of the building to the HoloNet News Network, with the exception of security-related concerns, which was negotiated separately with NK Security Services, who insisted on being given operational priority in their own functions within the property, although this rarely if ever is expected to impact the work of the journalists and reporters within the building. Built with the future in mind, state-of-the-art and durable materials were used in the construction of the headquarters, as well as reliable external and internal communications technology, something which had originally not been intended, until the Mawite assault on Coruscant came to fruition. When questioned at a press conference about the building, GalactiCom's Chief Operating Officer stated he was confident that the building would serve HoloNet News well for years to come.
