The Jedi Archive is meant to be something of a historical landmark, a sight of revelry and respect. It is a place that many seem to forget has a specific purpose, it is a repository of knowledge. This is not a knock on anyone who seem to forget this, but a reminder of just what he was doing and was looking to do. He being Jedi Master Caltin Vanagor.

Sitting there with the patience of stone and the will of time itself, Vanagor was sifting through and surrounded by countless rows of ancient tomes and holocrons. He had not slept or eaten in days, and yet he continued to scour the historical records year by year. His eyes were bloodshot and glazed over from staring at the countless pages in front of him. Caltin was searching for something specific, something that had eluded him for years. He had already exhaustively searched the Great Library on Ossus and other archives across the galaxy, but to no avail. Now, he felt that this was his last chance to find what he was looking for, and he was determined not to leave until he had found it.

The Jedi Master's focus was unwavering as he went through every scroll and holocron, his mind fully absorbed in his task. The Force flowed through him, guiding his hand to each and every piece of information that could possibly lead him closer to his goal. He poured over ancient texts, navigated through countless datapads, and watched holo-recordings of pivotal moments in galactic history. Despite being fatigued, Caltin's Jedi training allowed him to maintain his concentration, his mind functioning at peak efficiency even in his state of exhaustion. As he searched, he constantly kept the image of the important insight he was looking for at the forefront of his mind, never letting it fade from his vision; he knew that he could not afford to miss a single relevant detail.

This was not sudden, it had been going on for weeks. The Jedi Temple was indeed buzzing with whispers about Master Vanagor's behavior. He was always an odd one, but this was new. For weeks, the big man had been seen wandering the halls of the temple, his eyes scanning the room as if searching for something. His stoic and quiet nature only added to the mystery of his quest, and many speculated about what he might be looking for. Even the most seasoned Jedi was unable to investigate what it was he was searching for as there appeared to be no pattern to his movements.

As the days went on, more and more Jedi became curious, approaching Master Vanagor to ask what it was he was searching for. But each time, the Jedi Master would outright ignore them, striding past as if they weren't even there. Eventually, the curiosity became too much for some to bear, and a group of daring young apprentices decided to follow the Jedi Master discreetly in an attempt to uncover his secrets. But true to his elusive nature, Master Vanagor quickly caught on to what they were doing and vanished into the shadows, leaving the young apprentices with more questions than answers.

Despite the mystery surrounding Master Vanagor's search, many among the Jedi Order knew better than to question the actions of one of their own. Many speculated that he was on a mission for the greater good, seeking a lost artifact or powerful knowledge that could help further their cause. After all, he was not only a student of history, he was living it. Regardless of the reasons behind his search, Vanagor was trusted by many in that he knew what he was doing and that his actions would ultimately serve the greater good. So they simply watched and waited, knowing that all would eventually become clear in time.

... is my undivided attention.

Rumors and whispers about Master Vanagor's peculiar behavior hadn't escaped Valery, who had been spending a little more time at the Temple to teach classes and train her own Padawans. The war with the Maw was over, and with that, she wanted a greater focus on other important aspects of the Jedi life. She'd always keep an eye on darker forces out there, and recently she had even stood up against them with her husband. But she couldn't dedicate all of her time to more conflict. Not now.

At first, she didn't think much of Caltin's search for knowledge or... whatever it was exactly. Many other experienced Jedi knew what it was like to be on an important journey alone — one that could take weeks, months, or even years. But with him being at the Temple, and some students growing more concerned, she decided it was time to check in on him.

He had no need to explain himself to her, but they were both Jedi, so perhaps he was willing to share something with a Jedi Master who understood what it was like to be out of time.

"Master Vanagor?" Valery asked after entering the archives, her voice calm and clear. She wasn't hiding the fact that she went looking for him, hoping it would keep him from disappearing the way he had on younger students. "I was wondering if I could perhaps help you." She still couldn't see him, but she knew he was out there somewhere. Similarly, she didn't know what it is he might need help with, if he needed help at all.

But she'd be a poor Jedi if she didn't at least ask and offer her assistance.

Another dead end? OH COME ON!

Master Vanagor sat in the Jedi Archives, surrounded by towering bookshelves and rows of datapads, lost in thought as he scoured through the information in front of him. As one of the most experienced Jedi Masters, he had a wealth of knowledge at his disposal, ranging from Corellian history Post-Jedi Purge, to his Padawans of the past and their Padawans and so on, and even more personal events such as his daughter, Alyscia Vanagor, and his niece and nephew, Kameron and Kayla Angellus. Yet, despite all his expertise and experience, one piece of research continued to elude him, a piece of information that he desperately needed to find.

What.Is.It.I,Am.Looking.For?

Huh?

He was clearly not lost in thought, though his outward appearance would suggest otherwise. Noble was more than powerful and experienced enough to see through his deception. He wanted to look like he wanted to be left alone, but on the inside, the big man was starting to lose all patience, and in reality, hope of finding what he was looking for.

Whatever that was?

His frustration mounted as he went through datapad after datapad, searching for the elusive piece of information. He tapped his fingers nervously on the tabletop, annoyed at himself for not discovering what he was looking for. He knew he had to remain calm and centered, as any display of frustration or anger would taint the Force and cloud his judgment. Nevertheless, the lack of progress was starting to get to him. Even to the point where he was actually considering just walking out, but had completely forgotten who was nearby.

Huh? Oh… oh yeah… I’m fine.

That’s a lie. I need help with this!

As he refocused his attention on the datapads, Vanagor thought back to his past Padawans and their own accomplishments. He had trained some of the best Jedi the galaxy had ever seen, and their impact still reverberated even after all these years. But no matter how impressive their achievements, they paled in comparison to the task at hand. He needed to find this piece of information, and his inability to do so only served to increase his growing sense of frustration.

Despite his mounting frustration, Vanagor knew he had to keep going. He took a deep breath, centering himself in the Force, his focus intensifying. He knew that he was close, that the answer was there, on one of these datapads. He dug back in and kept searching, determined to find the piece of information that had eluded him for so long. Hours went by, and finally, through sheer persistence and determination, he found it.

Looking for something…

Just… wish I knew what it WAS!

Vanagor breathed a deep sigh of relief, feeling the weight of the universe lifted off his shoulders. He felt a renewed sense of purpose and energy as he contemplated the implications of what he had discovered. His frustration had turned into elation, and he had a renewed sense of appreciation for the power of the Force and his own abilities. As he stood up from the table, feeling energized and inspired, he realized that this was just one more lesson in the journey of a Jedi Master.

Not sure what I’m looking at yet… but I think I have the archive I need. I just wish I knew why it was this one. Or even what it is.

Valery chuckled softly while she watched the big guy going through one datapad after another. She could tell that he was a bit frustrated, perhaps restless too. From what she heard, he had been at it for quite a while now, yet it still seemed like he didn't entirely know what he was looking for. Was he in pursuit of something he had felt? Maybe something he had seen in a dream, a vision, or just something the Force had called out about?

She wasn't sure, but she wasn't going to let him drown in misery or frustration.

"Maybe..." Valery began carefully while she stepped closer and placed a hand on his desk, hoping to draw his gaze away from datapads and files and up to her own eyes.

"Maybe you should take one step back. Try to explain to me what you're doing and looking for. It can be a great way to straighten out your thoughts, and maybe I can help you." It was an offer she made with a smile, and she genuinely hoped he'd accept it. Both for his sake and because people were starting to worry.

Caltin then stood up after a deep breath, and Valery just watched him, clearly still curious.
