Shadow Hand

The world of Dellalt was awash with legend as the site of many major historical events, factions. Whether it was it's early service as a treasure world of Xim the Despot and his vast empire or it's role as a major staging point for the Galactic Empire and the many rumors that circulated of vaults put here by Emperor Palpatine. There were so many rumors that it was often hard to circulate fact from fiction when it came to this mysterious oceanic world that had ties to the Tion Hegemony in the past. Virtually all of the surface of Dellalt was covered with ocean with exception of three great continents where much of the indigenous peoples lived. The deep, dark oceans held many mysteries and unknown dangers.
Dellalt was home to two major groups that laid claim to the world. The first was known historically as the Survivors, a name claimed from the original founders that dominated the landmasses, they found their origins as survivors of Xim the Despots crumbling empire following his death. They banded together with a thousand of the dictator's highly formidable war droids and with stubborn determination carved out a place for themselves here. They were a rugged, despotic people heavily influenced by their ancient empire and in more recent years by their affiliation as members of the Tion Hegemony as more imperialistic. Dellalt was theirs by right.
The second was known as the Swimming Peoples of Dellalt or the Dellaltians and they laid claim to the waters dominating many of the major lakes. They were a huge, strong, sharp toothed reptilian people that held a monopoly on the bodies of water and controlling access across the continents, forcing others who wish to cross their domain to pay a hefty price. They were fiercely territorial and were known for their tempers should one violate the sanctity of their home, they would not hesitate to use savage violence to destroy these trespassers. In recent years due to the many galactic wars as the power of the Tion Hegemony fluctuated the Swimmers elected to reclaim former ancestral territory lost to them in ages past to the Survivors, and after a brief skirmish during the reclamation of these territories were called to a series of negotiations with the Survivors creating a very tense, volatile situation with these two peoples that would decide between peace, or war.
In the southernmost continent the famed legend of Xim the Despot and his lost vaults took root and year after year it brought greedy treasure hunters to the world to find lost fortunes, advanced technology that was lost in the Despotic Empire's regression following the death of its leader. It even brought crime lords and power hungry leaders who believed there to be legions of the infamous war droids that brought great swaths of the galaxy to heel. But all either left frustrated and broke their fortunes spent, or disappeared after going too deep into the hostile wilderness never to be seen again. It was the legendary mystique of these vaults and the failed expeditions that created outrageous rumors that everything from galactic fortune to superweapons from a forgotten age could possibly lurk in vaults hidden and trapped by a Despot so greedy, so paranoid that it was said he wanted his vaults so protected that even he would have trouble accessing them.
But everything would soon change for Dellalt as it became the latest target of the Sith Empire and its vast war machine that swallowed countless systems with every passing day bringing untold prosperity to those who bend the knee and annihilation to the foolish who stood against them. In a joint operation alongside their allies from the Tion Hegemony they would come to Dellalt and bring it into the fold, using its resources, its peoples to fuel their relentless pursuit of galactic conquest. In the name of the Emperor they would come.
