- Reliant on a wider and uninterrupted command and control system.
- Swarm: The Spark Swarm Fighters come in huge numbers, with potential to overwhelm point defense systems or enemy fighter squadrons with sheer numbers.
- Coordinated: The fighters are highly coordinated, using active networking to synchronize maneuvers during combat and making them behave more like a single entity than individual fighters.
- No hyperdrive: The fighter lacks a hyperdrive or potential to dock with a hyperdrive booster ring. This means it requires a carrier or base to operate from.
- Light armament: The fighter only carries anti-starfighter weaponry, and struggles against larger targets like frigates.
- Low defenses: The fighter is lightly armored, and carries no shielding systems.
The Spark Drone Swarm Fighter is a compact but effective droid fighter deployed in large but coordinated formations to overwhelm and destroy less numerous opponents. The fighter is armed with a pair of Light Pulse Lasers, providing excellent dogfighting firepower but forgoing any real chance of damaging large starships such as frigates or cruisers.
A swarm of drones can overwhelm most point defense systems in a single attack, but the small size of the ship and its light armor makes it vulnerable to both starfighter weapons and especially saturation weapons such as flak cannons. A well-coordinated group of fighters can make up for their lack of shields and heavy weaponry with superior maneuverability, however.
The droid fighters are also technically simplistic and easy to manufacture in a 0 g environment, and this feature makes them especially well suited for Hexus Contingent's doctrine of independent and mobile fleets supported by factory ships.
