STRENGTHS
  • Armoured - The ship has tough shields and heavy armour plating making it the ideal damage soaker. This allows the ship to serve as an effective vanguard or in most defensive fleets.
  • Heavy Cruiser - Being nearly 1000 m the ship is able to stand up to star destroyers. Its large size also allows it to carry a large payload, armed with concussion missile launchers to turbolasers. Any enemy who simply views this as a damage soaker will wake up to a nasty surprise
WEAKNESSES
  • Slow Behemoth - All that heavy armour and advanced shielding has slowed the ship down, making it hard to turn and move. If isolated and alone, a Helve Class won't be escaping an enemy fleet any time soon.
  • Low Hanger Space - With so much space being given to the armour and shields it's hanger space was reduced. This makes the ship not the ideal assault craft and it is unable to field both an effective fleet of starfighters and dropships at the same time.
DESCRIPTION
Being contracted by the new Admiral Governor Okins Industries began constructing a new armoured cruiser to fit the needs of the Sanjin government, the ship itself was designed by both Sanjin engineers from GENTECH and Okins Industries engineers to ensure it fit the government's needs. The Helve is a heavily armoured cruiser, designed to take heavy hits from larger capital ships while being able to fire off its own effective payload. The ship makes the perfect defensive ship, able to take hits and hold the line against any attacking fleet. Alternatively it makes a good Vanguard as its able to take so many hits before being destroyed. With a tucked in and protected bridge and heavy shielding it's going to take a lot to break through a blockade of these ships. At 1000 metres it's occasionally labelled as a pocket star destroyer and its large size works to its advantage, allowing it to stand up to larger ships while also being able to deal with smaller craft.
