SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Heavy Walker made for frontline direct and indirect fire support. This is in a variety of roles from use as an anti-aircraft/starfighter platform, a sniper walker meant to engage at long ranges with its weapons to engage and destroy armor and walkers in support of other combat forces, or as a mobile missile platform to take in targeting data from forward observers to provide tactical precision missile strikes, alongside being able to carry surface to air versions of the SIM-1 Havoc to give overflying craft a reason to stay away. While it does have a decent amount of armor, it is much preferred that you keep this walker behind something else in order to maximize its effects and minimize the potential loss as it is poor at close range combat.
  • Walker is piloted by a Pilot and Gunnery officer. The way the system works is that the pilot essentially drives the vehicle while the gunner focuses on gunner things, like aiming shots, locking onto targets and managing various secondary systems. The walker was designed for this style of control, mimicking the control scheme of most standard larger walkers such as the AT-ST and larger. While this walker has an emergency/maintenance mode that allows for the pilot or gunner to swap controls between stations, this only technically just allows for it to be piloted by a single person. But this mode is meant for either maintenance runs with crews, or in an emergency in the field where either the pilot's been killed and the gunner needs to get them all back to safety, or the gunner's been killed and it's time to go out in a blaze of glory. You cannot, and I can't stress this enough, shoot and move at the same time, by yourself without some serious modifications that would take this sub out of its original intent. So, with that said, keep it in mind that if you're piloting this thing you're relying on the gunner to shoot things before they shoot you. And if you're a gunner, you're relying on your pilot to have more than two braincells to rub together which will keep you at optimum range and hopefully not target priority number one of whatever you happen to be shooting at. Teamwork makes the dream work kids!
  • H-1 105mm Vehicle Cannon offers great range, penetration and damage against vehicles while also being lighter and more adaptable than the H-2 in standard configuration. This weapon fires 105mm APFSICDS rounds for enemy vehicles and armor, and for engaging lighter or airborne targets it uses HERFFI to maximize efficiency and damage.
  • Four Deimos laser cannons are able to engage light vehicles, infantry, or medium armor from close to medium range allowing for this walker to engage a most ranges. The two mounted in the weapon pods allow for backup weapons in closer to mid ranges, while also allowing the vehicle to utilize them in the same firing arcs of the H-1 cannons.
  • Eagle Eye Fire Control System ties all of the weapon systems together, providing two separate reticules for the different fire control groups. This is made more effective by the use of a radar dish located above the central torso that allow for radar, lidar, and other sensors to detect, analyze, and then track targets around the walker more accurately than most standard systems. Both of the pod mounted weapon systems are able to make small adjustments for convergence starting at 300 meters with the weapons having a spread of six meters. Full convergence is achieved at 400 meters and beyond. Weapon pods are able to traverse 30 degrees down from parallel to the ground, to being able to go all the way to the other side of the walker engaging targets in its rear with the same lower limits to traverse (in layman's terms the weapons can't go to the bottom 120 degrees of the walker). The walker however can only twist 40 degrees off of center line with the legs to engage targets without risking overloading the balance systems by firing, with a hard cap set at 65 degrees off centerline.
  • Isotope-5A Reactor provides significant power generation able to power all of the various systems aboard this machine, from the various servos, CMAS, other locomotion necessary systems, and main weapons aboard the walker. This Isotope-5A Reactor allows for the vehicle to run all of these systems at optimal capacity allowing for the walker to perform its intended function at peak efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Brand new Eagle Class Medium Armor provides new gold standard for armor protection, alongside protective laminates both on the armor and below the armor. This allows the walker to operate in most environments and offers reliable protection, but use in frontline combat as attacker and not a direct fire support is not recommended. In other words the armor is good, but not getting shot is much better.
  • Mounted gyroscope and internal droid brain manages most of the lesser tasks of keeping the walker upright, alongside with it being able to take rounds from heavy vehicle mounted weapons and keep upright. Also allows for traversal of rough terrain without too many adjustments from the pilot.
  • Wind Talker Class Communications array allows for each individual walker to be able to communicate and relay information. Information on their own personal position and status from rounds remaining, armor, and systems active to targets engaged, target's status and surrounding environmental conditions contributing to the engagement. This allows for the WC/Co-Pilot to be able to coordinate and relay to all nearby units, enabling wolf pack tactics and coordinated assaults at the lance level.
STRENGTHS
  • Long range beast: This walker specializes in long range warfare and hitting any target at long or extreme ranges. This gives this walker the niche role of being a fire support platform on legs with the ability to spot, analyze, identify, track and then engage most any targets either on the ground or in the air above the walker with lethal precision. And with two H-1 Cannons, you can keep a slow but steady stream of rounds flying out to smack whomever is on the receiving end to let them know they done karked up.
  • A mobile artillery piece in walker form: This vehicle brings the support capabilities of an artillery tank, or even fixed heavy anti-air position and sticks it on a walker platform. Combine this with an extremely accurate targeting and fire control system, and you have a fire support platform that can go anywhere at anytime.
WEAKNESSES
  • Not a frontline assault unit: This walker is meant to be a fire support platform. That is, to be behind someone or something else and support them with direct or indirect fires. And while it has a few weapons to defend itself at close ranges, it is much, much more effective and efficient with some range between the targets and it so that it can do what it does best. Which is to put rounds on target rapidly at range with extreme accuracy.
  • Extremely specialized combat walker: The other issue with this walker is that it is a purpose built combat platform. It is not a transport. It is not a scout. It is not anything more than what it was initially designed to do. Which is to give fire support. If you throw it into a frontline assault role, you're gonna be disappointed with the results, if you try to have it carry stuff...... yeah good luck. To put it simply, outside of putting rounds on target extremely accurately at range, this walker isn't good at much.
DESCRIPTION
One of the many new innovations coming from Freebirds' Industries Walker Programs is the Helios Fire Support Platform. Building on the successes of the Gladius Walker, this next model would be more of a combat support role, in the role of Fire Support. With the standard 1A model bringing to the table a pair of H-1 105mm cannons backed by 4 Deimos laser cannons it's a hard model to argue with when it comes to that role. The principle weapon system of choices being the cannons themselves, as they allow the walker to engage a variety of targets at various ranges with extreme accuracy, precision, and a bit of versatility with a variety of round types for different targets. Fed by autoloading systems, and utilizing a best in class Eagle Eye Targeting and Fire Control System with a sensor suite to match, these weapons are a menacing foe to face in the field by any opponent. But it's greatest feature? The ability to engage at ranges which make this walker a veritable sniper of ground targets, and a dangerous anti-air platform that can knock out fighters and bombers from the sky with deadly efficiency. Unfortunately due to the lowered weight and heavy nature of the 105mm cannons, along with their recoil, the walker had to be limited on its ability to twist the torso from the legs, but to solve the issue of being attacked from behind the designers incorporated a novel solution. When needed, the commanders of this walker can simply engage the weapons to have them turn and face the rear of the walker, locking onto and engaging just as though it were attacking targets in front of it. This can be a nasty surprise to would be ambushers expecting an easy kill, but still this walker should be a guarded asset, not a frontline assault asset. To throw it into the throes of frontline close quarters combat would simply be a waste of a good walker, and as such a waste of pilots and material. Instead this walker can serve as the perfect anchor to any lance, a mobile support by fire platform capable of engaging both air and ground targets, and doing so at range. War has evolved with the advent of Freebirds Industries Walker program, and this is just another sign that it's not going to revert any time soon.

Adjusted height to more properly match and communicate it's actual size including a fixed height descriptor at 9.5 meters and added clarification on the pilot setting.
