STRENGTHS
  • High Versatility: The optics allow the user to quickly transition between zoom levels depending on the scenario, some of the optics can even be equipped with a back up red dot for CQC encounters
WEAKNESSES
  • Peripheral View: When aiming down the sight the users vision in the looking eye is obstructed by the sight and they can easily miss targets or such in their periphery if not careful
DESCRIPTION
After the creation of the Close Range Optics the design engineers at Hekler'Kok began work on the next set of optics, the Medium Range Optics series, with the optics being designed for between 300 to 800 meters.

This set of optics consisted of several different variable zoom optics that they could market, a 2-4x rifle scope, a 2-6x rifle scope, a 2-8x rifle scope and two hybrid optics consisting of the 2-4x and 2-6x rifle scope with a micro red dot from the Close Range Optics series piggybacked on top. The optics were main designed to be used with assault and battle rifles, light and general purpose machine guns and designated marksmen rifles.

With the types of optics chosen the design team began work on choosing the materials they would utilize in the construction of the optics. For this they kept the materials the same as the Close Range Optics series. The optics casing was made out of Plasteel to maintain durability while keeping weight to a minimum. Transparisteel was used for the optics lenses to avoid cracking as much as possible while still having a clear view. The entire optic was coated in CeramiCoat to prevent and reduce external damage as much as possible. Finally the optics consist of any electrical components that make them work.

With all the essentials of the design taken care of the team began work on including the features that they thought that users might find desirable. First were different reticles and colors with users being able to switch between three different reticles and several different colors. The bullet drop indicators on the rifle scopes are adjustable for various different calibers. An integrated rangefinder helps with ranging and therefore hitting targets at ranges.

Auto-adjust reticle brightness adjusts the brightness of the reticle by detecting the ambient light conditions. Low light/night vision mode makes the optics compatible with night vision devices. An anti-reflective cover goes over the front of the optic to prevent light from reflective off of it and revealing the users position. A thumbscrew quick attach/detach mount makes it simple and quick to attach and detach the optic for whatever reason. No-fog lenses prevent the lenses from fogging up no matter how humid the environment. Waterproof sealing prevents water from leaking into the optic and makes it submergible up to 100 meters. Vibration resistant allows the optic to keep its zero no matter how much vibration is put through it from even automatic firing.
