- High Rate of Fire: Due to the rather heavy construction of the pistol and the low recoil of the 5.7x28mm cartridge the CP-01 is able to maintain a high rate of fire with relative accuracy

After the construction of the C/UK-01 the Hekler'Kok R&D team began design of a pistol for the same reasons as the C/UK-01. Like before the R&D team first began by choosing the materials used in the CP-01's construction. They decided to construct the slide, barrel and internal mechanisms out of Hekler'Kok trademark Alusteel-Alloy for its light weight yet durability, though the light weight aspect was slightly negated by increasing the thickness in vital areas. They chose chromium for the barrel lining to reduce wear and tear on the barrel, plastoid was chosen for the grip for its light weight and durability and finally Hekler'Kok's patented Ceramicoat was chosen as plating to reduce wear and tear on the outer portions of the pistol.
Once the materials and shape of the pistol were decided on the R&D team began to debate on what features the pistol would use. Firstly they decided on the inclusion of ambidextrous controls to make it more conducive to right and left handed shooters. A threaded barrel was added for the use of muzzle devices such a compensators, muzzle brakes and suppressors. An accessory rail was added under the barrel so that flashlights and laser sights could be used. Finally serrations were added to the rear of the slide to give users a better grip when chambering a round and the grip was textured to give the user a better grip when firing.
