OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To codify an NPC for future RP.
  • Role: A corrupt vampire crime lord and politician.
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: N/A
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Age: Unknown; a few thousand years old
  • Force Sensitivity: Non-Force User
  • Species: Greater Sanguinius Vampirika
  • Appearance: A suave middle-aged man with pale skin and piercing gray eyes. He wears his black hair slicked back and is always well-dressed in tailored suits.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Han Werdegast
  • Loyalties: Himself
  • Wealth: Werdegast has amassed a considerable fortune over the course of his long life, ensuring that he wants for nothing. He owns a lot of property (though he mainly lives out of two top floor suites in a luxury hotel rather than in a house or other abode he owns) as well as stocks in profitable companies. He has hundreds of "employees" to maintain his numerous enterprises, as well as a personal assistant and valet. He donates a portion of his wealth to various charities and nonprofit organizations and also uses his money to bribe and influence others as he sees fit.
  • Notable Possessions:
    • A cane with a silver wolf's head handle, containing a concealed blade
  • Skills: He is a cunning warrior, a learned scholar, and a gentleman who can move with ease through the world of the upper class.
  • Languages:
  • Personality: A charismatic leader, Werdegast describes himself as "two-faced": he can be both kind and cruel as needed. He tends to view the people around him as pawns whom he can move or sacrifice at will. Most of his moves are benign enough that the people involved are willing to accept it, or are even grateful to change position. He refers to this game of his as "matchmaking".
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Weapon of Choice: Cane with hidden blade
  • Combat Function: Werdegast never leaves his home turf without bodyguards, but he's no pushover when it comes to fighting either. His vampirism grants him heightened senses, enhanced physical attributes such as strength, speed, agility and reflexes on par with that of a Force User. His accelerated healing is negligible during combat, but it certainly does make recovering from injuries after the fact go by a lot faster.
Strengths:
  • Racial Traits:
    • Acute heightened senses
    • Enhanced physical attributes
    • Accelerated healing
    • Biological immortality
  • I Always Wanted To Be a Gangster: The leader of a major crime syndicate on Dahrtag, Werdegast controls a vast empire headquartered in the city of Lamont. He holds political office as Treasurer of Lamont County, a position which allows him to exert a great deal of influence over the planetary government, making him one of the most powerful people in the world. He is known for his generosity and is very well-liked by the public (most of whom are blissfully unaware that he is a bloodsucking crook).
Weaknesses:
  • Racial Traits:
    • Acute and aggressive photosensitivity
    • Silver allergy
    • Not truly immortal—he won't die of old age, but can be killed
    • Can go mad if he doesn't feed regularly
    • Must undergo a regular hibernation process to stave off mental deterioration
    • Resistant to many toxins, but vulnerable to certain poisons such as Bittersweet Nightshade
    • Contact with spice, even in minute amounts, can suppress healing factor
  • I Never Drink Wine: Due to his sensitivity to the sun, Werdegast must live a reclusive lifestyle, limiting his public appearances and being very careful about how he conducts his business. In some ways he cannot fully enjoy the vast power he possesses, though he doesn't complain.
  • An Obscure House: Bloodlines are very important to Sanguinius Vampirika. Werdegast belongs to a clan which is not very well known, and consequently not much respected by members of more notable families. His power and influence doesn't stretch beyond the confines of his beloved Dahrtag.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
An ancient vampire prince turned criminal kingpin, the voivode now known as Han Werdegast is the most powerful and influential crime lord in Lamont, if not all of Dahrtag. He uses his political position as Treasurer of Lamont County as a cover for his criminal activities, keeping the feds off his back and spreading his influence.

Han Werdegast was born a few thousand years ago into an obscure Vampirika House, a breakaway Balaur clan who (according to legend) had made their home on Dahrtag after striking a deal with Sawa Ike and her husband, who at the time had conquered the planet. They joined various other vampiric nobles, most of them Energy Vampires, in ruling the world. Over time the influence of these voivodes waned and most of the Houses went extinct.

Despite the matriarchal predilection among the Sanguinius Vampirika, Werdegast rose through the ranks of his fading House to become its head, restoring the clan to its former glory and more. He accomplished this by being always reliable, unwaveringly loyal, and more than a little bit ruthless. He was among the first vampire princes to engage in organized crime—the rest followed his lead.

It has not been an easy road to walk. After centuries of struggling for dominance, he emerged at the top of the heap having lost most of his family and many of his friends. But he was victorious. Over the last few decades, he has focused on protecting and preserving what he has built. Now, he is considering finding an heir to inherit his kingdom. Of course, he doesn't intend to give up power any time soon, but it would be good to set things up ahead of time...
