  • City Name: Lamont
  • Classification: Metropolis
  • Location: Dahrtag (aka "Necropolis")
  • Affiliation: The planetary government of Dahrtag is headquartered here. The current Mayor of Lamont is Conrad Kane.
  • Population: Heavy
  • Demographics: Various species can be found in the city of Lamont, which is open to people of all types. It has the most mixed demographics on Dahrtag, though not as cosmopolitan as Coruscant or other worlds with larger populations. Though most people are unaware, there is a substantial minority of vampiric species living in Lamont, particularly Energy Vampires and the Sangnir. They are seemingly drawn to Dahrtag due to the low sunlight and general atmosphere of the city. Many of these vampires are voivodes, aka crime bosses who run Lamont via the criminal underworld.
  • Wealth: Poor - Wealthy; both can be found in Lamont. The city is home to both the ultra rich and the extremely poor, with a high level of wealth inequality.
  • Stability: Low - Afflicted by a high crime rate and corrupt police force, it is often said that the voivodes of the underworld are the ones who truly run Lamont. Even Mayor Conrad Kane has a criminal history, and while he claims he has changed and redeemed himself, most assume that he has not severed all his ties to organized crime.
  • Freedom & Oppression: Generally speaking, the citizens of Lamont are free to live as they please, provided they do not try to stand up against any powerful and influential people. The corruption runs deep; trying to fight it usually ends badly.
  • Description: Lamont is a major metropolis located on an island off the coast of the mainland. It is a cultural center with a unique noir/gothic atmosphere, the darkness of which is broken up by splashes of colorful neon lights. The Lamont River separates the city from the mainland.

Speakeasy - A trendy nightclub owned by "Nadia Draven", a major voivode.
Stardust Circus - A traveling circus which performs annually in Lamont. The circus is sleazy, run-down and always seems to be struggling to get by.
Harlow Hotel - The finest accommodations in the city. Well-dressed businessmen, glamorous celebrities, and other VIPs usually wind up staying at the luxurious Harlow at one point or another.
Lamont Heights - An upper class neighborhood which is a frequent target of professional burglars.
Castle Kane - The private residence of Mayor Conrad Kane, inherited from his late father. The estate is a historical landmark dating back centuries to the first generation of Kanes recorded in Lamont.
Lamont Times - The headquarters of the largest and most influential news agency in the city.
Sun City - A densely populated, poverty-stricken district full of decaying buildings and rampant crime.
The Clocktower
Lamont Starport

Medium; the city is fairly protected from exterior threats such as invasions, but not so much from internal threats. It is said that if the organized criminals banded together, they could overtake the city within twenty-four hours, though it is uncertain whether this is an observation about the corruption of the system or a critique of its defenses.

Those who dug and maintained the graves which covered the tombworld of Dahrtag needed a place to live. These early settlers founded Lamont, which was to be the hub of their civilization. The first buildings were magnificent feats of primitive yet magnificent architecture, full of gothic spires and flying buttresses. Gargoyles were carved from stone, guarding demesnes against demons and mislaid spirits.

Centuries passed, and the galaxy changed. In many ways, Dahrtag did not. The descendants of those first settlers built skyscrapers and monorails, alleys and townhouses, parks and schools, furnishing them with all the comforts a modern city had to offer, but they did it in the same macabre style of their ghost-fearing ancestors. Even during the Gulag Plague, when the steady stream of coffins arriving for burial became a deluge, very little about life in this town was any different for it. The dead stayed dead. The mourners went on weeping. Lamont is still Lamont.
