OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: to create an elite squad of soldier trained and led by my Gen'dai Brimstone
  • Role: Commandos for missions authorised and often led by Brimstone
  • Permissions:
  • Links: none
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Hades Commando Assault team
  • Affiliation: Soldiers hand picked and trained by Brimstone working primarily alongside the Ashlan Crusade but potentially also as a mercenary unit.
  • Classification: Shock troops
  • Description: Hand picked from existing military units for their skills, dedication and aggression. They are equipped with advanced heavy power armour which gives then extreme durability and strength. They fight as a single unit equipped to meet a variety of targets buy are also expected to be able to function in smaller units if emissary.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: small - 8 men in an active unit, with typically three of four reserve soldiers that can be rotated in as necessary.
  • Unit Availability: Unique
  • Unit Experience: Elite
  • Equipment:
  • Combat Function: These are high impact shock troops designed to enter dangerous engagements and come out victorious. Similarly to their leader, they are not subtle and although trained to keep their heads down if needed, there approach to combat is usually to attack. Brimstone is a veteran of may wars including the 7th battle of Ruusan and fighting for the Republic during the clone wars, and he instills a lot of the tactics learned there into his recruits. Organisationally they are separate to the main army structure and report directly to Brimstone but still respect the military hierarchy and chain of command.
Strengths:
  • Well trained - Brimstone has very high expectations and will return recruits that aren't up to the task back to their units.
  • Well equipped - they are equipped with advanced gear not normally available to rank and file soldier, including powered armour giving them great strength and endurance.
Weaknesses:
  • Lack of finesse - trained to be a hammer of a unit with anvil like staying power. They are not stealthy and are not trained as covert infiltrators.
  • Low force defence - The Hades commandos are chosen because of qualities such as their strong will and determination that make them naturally a little resistant to force powers, but no more than any other non-force sensitive sentient could be trained to be. They have no special protections against force users.
  • Hard to replace - while there are usually a few reserves to replace minor losses, a significant defeat could put them under strength for a significant time while new recruits are found and trained.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
This was the name of the unit that brimstone was given leadership during his last stint of military action. Longs since dead he remembers them fondly as great soldiers that he was proud to command.

Upon joining the Ashlan Crusade and integrating into its military, he felt there was need for a similar unit of crack commandos that could be called upon to accompany him into battle, regular rank and file troops just didn't have the training or equipment to be placed into the sort of high danger engagements that Brimstone thrived in.

With the permission of the military commanders, he hand picks or is recommended recruits that might meet his standards. They must already by competent soldiers with great determination, willpower, talent and willingness to act aggressively Loyalty is also paramount. Brimstone likes strong, hotblooded soldiers so is happy to have men that will not just roll over and fear him, but they must take his orders.

The training is grueling and dangerous, at any point, including after completion, they can be returned to their original units and only the best are allowed to progress to become full Hades Commandos. The active squad is 8 soldiers, a number chosen due to the capacity of Brimstone's ship, and usually he likes to have three to four qualified reserves who will continue to train rigorously, ready to rotate in to keep the unit at full strength.
