DESCRIPTION

The Grievous-class Star Destroyer is a command ship designed to be just as iconic, and deadly, as the Legendary General for which it is named. Devised by the top designers of Druckenwell Shipyards, it is the apex of the Confederacy's engineering capabilities and ingenuity. Aesthetically speaking, the Grievous-class Star Destroyer resembles the Separatist Star Destroyer that was utilized during the Clone Wars era; although updated to the highest degree. The inspiration for this design was derived from schematics obtained during the Confederacy's militant venture to Pzob. To begin, the vessel reaps the benefits of construction within the Druckenwell Shipyards; in particular, the method by which the engineers of Druckenwell construct the hulls of capital ships. The ship's frame is composed entirely of an alloy composed of Durasteel, Turadium, and Quadranium; with the same metal being used for the hull as well.

The plating upon the Grievous-class Star Destroyer's hull is also composed of this alloy. In particular, the entirety of the plating is doubled up in order to maximize endurance in the event of shield droppage. Overall, the vessel can take an impressive sum of punishment from turbolaser fire, or other ordnance, in the event of shield droppage during a battle. On another note, just as the Grievous-class Star Destroyer is adequately-equipped to handle punishment defensively; it is also equipped in order to dish out punishment offensively. As has become the signature of the naval vessels of the Confederacy, the vessel sports an impressive assortment of cannons which allow it to effectively combat a variety of ships, at a variety of ranges.

While the ship, as a whole, is a behemoth in terms of firepower, it lacks severely in terms of starfighter complement. It is for this reason that the ship is sleighted to be deployed alongside supplementary, escort vessels or carriers; in order to make up for this lack of starfighter support. However, as a whole, the Grievous-class Star Destroyer is poised to be an iconic addition to the Confederacy of Independent Systems' naval forces; and is a worthy recipient of the legendary name bestowed upon it.

Slight problem with your dev thread, I can only find one post relating to this ship and then it was only two lines. Is there more I'm not seeing with these infiltrators?

  • Is there anyplace this alloy has been detailed before? Strengths/Weaknesses, development?

  • "Heavy Long-Range Turbolaser Batteries (25) [200 Gun Equivalent]"
25x4=100 guns x2=200 heavy x5=1,000 long range

  • "Heavy Turbolaser Batteries (60) [460 Gun Equivalent]"
  • 60x4=240 guns x2= 480 heavy

You have 1720/900 allowable gun points. I would highly suggest that you start by removing the heavy modifier from your long-range turbos considering that they already hit pretty hard without it.

  • The alloy is simply the same metals used in the vast majority of CIS ship submissions. In a PvP scenario, it's far from invincible (take Dead Space for example).
  • Gun Count adjusted.
  • Since what I thought was in the Development Thread doesn't exist, I'll need to make another. Could you mark this WIP until then?
  • Image Updated.

Dev thread is alright, you list your heavy Ions as 240 guns but it should be 200. This leaves you with 10 guns open.
Defensive guns are problematic though, you have 120 batteries when you should only have 80 guns total.
However, you have no launchers on this so I'll let you go up to 60 batteries on the defensive guns.
your hanger has also opened up quite a bit with the new charts.

I went ahead and updated everything to be in line with the 2.0 Template.
  • The Quad/Point Defense/Flak Guns now total in 80.
  • The 10 guns left over from the mislabeled Ions I put as Tractor Beams.
  • Added 120 Warhead Launchers
  • Added the 2.0 Hangar using the Swarm fighters (+50% of 24) and substituted 2 Heavy Dropships for Shuttles

You may have 120 launchers or 80 defensive guns with 30 heavy launchers, not both.
In your hanger you may not have fighters or interceptors, just bombers.
Please group weapons together by type, turbo/ion/launcher/defensive as it makes it much easier to read and add up.
