Graveyard Fun I (Rebels)

@[member="Thessa Kai"] - @[member="Noah Corek"]

Approaching the Acclamator I-class assault ship, the Claw locked into position, docking and using its engines to hold the large ship steady. From here on out, it was Sparkys job to take over until he got back from exploring the inside of the vessel. With Sparky looking at him, Judah nodded his head towards the end of the ship, where Thessa was suiting up.

"Dont worry Sparky, I know she's lying." A beep, more questioning. "Yes, I know about that. You and I both know yet she's keeping it a secret."

Patting the domed unit, Judah left the controls to the little astromech droid. Moving to the back hatch they had docked at, Judah pulled on the vac suit, adjusting the everything before double checking Thessa's. Everything had been good to go. Pushing a flashlight into the mermaids hand, Judah hoisted two tool boxes and let his counterpart open the doors. They had one of the largest ships to get through. With the hatch open, the pair walked into the Acclamator.

Looking about, Judah nudged Thessa -- clearly the hangar was somewhere down the righthand main corridor. To him, this ship looked different. Like pirates had taken it at one point. Much of the military insignia and specs had been taken off or modified.

"Darlin'.....I know you're lying to us. Me and Sparky"

A flash of light from her torch caught in her iced-azure gaze as she looked at Judah through their helmets and masks. His voice was crisp, even coming over their shared channel in her headset. "Sometimes I wonder if Sparky is half-human." She smirked, pushing off the decking and float-stepping into the ship with Judah at her side. The torch switched off, her thumb switching on the flashlight. The corridor narrowed and it seemed like they were in a broken down lift, leading up the heart of the vessel.

"Daxton Bane," she spoke quietly, without looking back to Judah, afraid she would lose it. "I can't even escape him when I sleep. That's why I don't sleep much anymore. I...I think he did something to me. He was a mental mindfrakker." Pausing, she looked back at him, light pointing at his feet. "I don't know what to do and that kriffin' scares me. That is why I have to kill him - Judah, because every time I kill him in my dreams, he just keeps coming back the next night."

There wasn't much comfort one could offer in a vac suit. They were bulky and designed to keep the cold nothing from getting in. A small pat on the shoulder would have to do for now. In fact there wasn't all too much he could do back on the ship. If Judah had his way -- and likely never would -- the pair would be on the balmy and remote ocean planet of Ceto, setting up mining operations. And then staying put for a good long while.

"I understand. I honestly do.Although, when you kill him, the nightmares aren't going to just up and disappear." Judah shrugged in the suit. "Might make our day to day lives better though. No one should be bothering you this much, to the point where you're going to breakdown. Hell, I'll pour all of our life savings into putting a bounty on this guy if thats what it takes."

Kneeling down, Judah opened the first toolbox. Being a salvager, he had this down pat. Everything was strapped down so it wouldnt float away. Pulling out a battery the size of a loaf of bread, Judah taped the item to the durasteel wall and started to connect wires from the battery to the lift. Some sparks here, a curse there and the lights in the turbolift came to life. A map and information panel hazily came on, cracked and hard to read.

"Lets see....Here we are."

Pressing the hangar on the screen, the door closed on both of them and the sensation of moving up began.

Noah smiled as Kayla modeled the armor and kissed her on the forehead as she stood there. "It looks good,of course you could make anything look good." Noah told her as he stood there grinning. "Ok,well lets get a move one people,we need to salvage some of those ships."

With orders received, Lylin went to work. She watched as her small crew of rebels busied themselves with the salvage operation. She positioned the ship to face the more larger pieces of scrap and engaged the twin tractor beams.

"Keep an eye on those scanners, let me know if we have company other then the Rebels", she asked the crew member. The long range sensor array second to none, and a good way for them to watch their backs. "Some one had better get to the storage bay and start the inventory on the scrap as it comes in, please". With that one of the crew nodded in response and left the bridge.

Lyin watched both the scanner and through the window, her eyes flicking between the two, as she guided the first piece of the abandoned metal onboard.

I smiled as the command went out for us to start scrapping The crews all split up along the ships that we would be salvaging for parts, weapons, or even take whole ships. Ether way, we were going to amass a fleet the easy way. Rebuilding over the old junk. Smiling I looked up on my scanner to see that nothing was headed our way. Even then I started to use my plasma torch to cut out a door to see what was behind it. It could be a cash of weapons, or a restroom. Nobody would know until it was opened.

The lift doors opened and she paused, the flashlight hanging limp in her grasp as she stared into the dark expanse. Something Judah said, made her freeze.

"You're right," she spoke slowly, gaze staring off into the cavernous space as if somewhere else. "No one should bother me this much. I think it would be easier if I didn't have these nightmares...if...if, I didn't think he left a piece of him inside my mind." Helmeted-head jerked toward Judah. "Instead of seeking revenge, maybe I can find someone to help me. Heck, maybe Jorus knows someone. He has all those force-user friends. But, I don't want this to happen to anyone else. If I can stop Daxton, I'll frakkin' do it, Judah."

Reaching forward, gloved hand pressed down tightly on his forearm, as if using him as an anchor, one she needed. "And no, I don't want you to give-up your life-savings for this. I think I would hate myself if it came to that." Gnawing on her lower lip in thought, she turned suddenly, and brought her flashlight up, the high-powered beam illuminating the hanger space and the pocket of squadron fighters they had stumbled onto.

A low whistle escaped her lips. "Would you look at that?"

"They did a decent job on my brain. Don't see why it would be any different for you." Judah tapped his helmet, right at the temple as a small reminder. Nudging the mermaid with his shoulder, Judah offered a small smile, completely ignoring the hangar in front of them. "We'll get this guy, don't worry. Whatever you need me to do just name it.Anything."

Stepping into the hangar it was a sight to see. What he could see from the light Thessa was bouncing off the fighters anyways. All shapes and sizes had been thrown into the hangar. Most had come to lay against the back firewall, as if they had slid back during a heated battle. Off to the right, far off near the hangar opening, a battle had cut the entrance even wider. Admiring the view of space through the hangar entrance that had been blown even wider open during some type of battle.

Toggling the comm to the other Rebels, Judah decided to report in briefly. "@[member="Noah Corek"], found some starfighters. Still pokin' around." Shutting his side of the comm back off, he thought it was odd to be reporting in. Ninety percent of the time this was a solo activity on his end. About to turn back to Thessa, movement caught the corner of his eye. Gently taking the light from her grip, Judah searched for the movement. And quickly found it. A mummified body, floating in the vasty nothingness.

"I got it....Go....Go check out the fighters..."

@[member="Judah Dashiell"]

Turning, she hugged Judah tightly. Well, as tightly as a space suit would allow. Stepping back, she frowned, seeing the body. The frown wasn't because of the body, it was because she was numb to it. It's always how she imagined her death would be as a fighter pilot, floating alone, in space. If there was anything left of her body to find.

With a tap of her hand, she turned on the helmet lights to her suit. The twin smaller beams lit up her view as she approached the fighters. Gloved hand ran along the hulls. "These are X-83s. Almost perfectly in tact. It looks like they didn't have time to deploy," iced-azure gaze looked over her shoulder at Judah. "Think we can patch these up?"

Getting the body out was a little trickier than he had first planned. There was a high risk of both of them floating out into nothingness. It seemed crude, letting this long-dead pilot merely float in space. If this person had been like any other pilot though, floating amongst the stars would only be a fitting burial. Watching the pilot leave the ship, Judah sighed and turned back to Thessa just as she was mentioning the fighters.

"Don't see why not. Not sure if I have any X-83 parts at any of the warehouses but it doesn't mean we can scavenge some junk heaps."

Slowly making his way back -- so not to float out -- Sparky came twittering over their headset. Something about a body floating amongst the debris.

"No Sparky, Thessa did not kick me out into space. Thank you for the concern." Chuckling, he shook his head "Detach the ship from that docking point and meet us down in the main hangar. We've got a full house to load up."

With the affirmative tweet, the pair set to work prepping the fighters for loading. It was going to be tedious work, trawling them into the Claw.

"Your folks...how are they doin'? "

As Haven heard him she smirked and leaned in for a kiss, planting their lips together she held it for a few moments and then released and then tore her lips away and walked past him toward the hangar bay, she looked back momentarily and gestured for him to follow her and continued on so they could get this underway.

Noah followed Haven soon after she had kissed him and got to the hangar and into a shuttle as it took off. The ride lasted for a few minutes before they touched down in the hangar of one of the Acclamators. As soon as the landing ramp opened,Noah stepped out and quickly took a look at his surroundings, there were a few fighters, they looked to be a Jedi interceptor. He then heard what sounded like metal footsteps and quickly pulled his T-42 Light Repeater off his back and pointed it to find nothing there." All units, this is Corek,be on the lookout,I don't think we're alone here."

She wished she could rub the sweat from her brow right about now. She hated space suits. Ironic since she was a pilot. Sparky was doing a nice job of loading the fighters. Attention tore away from the second one being loaded to Judah's roguish features.

"They're okay...all things considered. Better, after Dells and Qae brought me back." Bringing her hands up, she motioned for the okay to start loading the third. "Nice and easy Sparky, left. No, left, LEFT!" Eyes squinted as the droid corrected at the last second.

"They worry about my brothers probably just as much as they worry about me. If I ever have kids, they said I would understand," with a shrug, a small smirk played on aqua-lips as she met Judah's gaze. The smirk disappeared at Noah's broadcast. Gloved-hand fell to her blaster as she looked around their hangar.

Nothing seemed off.

Judah couldn't help but laugh at Thessa's reaction to Sparky's loading job. Carefully float-walking around the hangar, he was picking up intact parts and tossing them in with their cargo. It would prevent a need to go out to the junk yards straight away. If a few could get flying in the short-term with the other ragtag fighters they had acquired it would be more than plenty for now. At least in his opinion.

"Kids? So Galans don't call their offspring tadpoles?"

Smirking, he stopped and looked around, listening. There was creaking from the ship they were on. He was surprised more of the section hadn't fallen into space, given the amount of junk floating in the area. It was a slow float-walk back to the open bays of the Claw and Judah could just shrug, grabbing Thessa's hand to bring her aboard as he went. The ramp closed, pressurizing the space once again, once floating parts hitting the ground.

"Don't see anything here Corek. We're at full capacity and headed home." Taking off his helmet, Judah yelled back up to Sparky. "Enter hyperspace, take us back to home base."

Taking the hand of Thessa, Judah grinned as he took her down the corridors, leaving a trail of vac suit components and clothes. "Looking a bit warm in that vac suit Darlin'. Better get you out of it." With that, the scene tastefully fades to a blissful black with our heroes making the most out of the long flight back to Home Base.
