OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: A vicious close-range ship weapon system for capital ship brawlers or brutalist warships. Designed for ships that want to crush, pin, and kill their enemies from spitting distance.
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: Inspired by tractor beam arrays, tensor field technology, and repulsor field manipulation, the weapon system on my old Talon
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Gravity-Based Assault Weapon (Gravimetrics / Repulsor / Tensor)
  • Size: Very Large
  • Weight: Very Heavy
  • Ammunition Type: None (Physical Chain System powered by internal energy grid)
    • Gravehand uses retractable Corusca-lined physical chains, not traditional munitions. It relies on shipboard servo-hydraulics, tensor field projectors, and repulsor-driven launch cradles to deploy and operate.
  • Ammunition Capacity: Average (4 Chain Arms, Reusable)
    • Each Gravehand system typically fields four physical chains, which are retracted, serviced, and reused. Systems can fire each chain multiple times per engagement, but they require reset and retraction time after each use.
  • Effective Range: Personal
    • Gravehand is designed for brutal close-range entanglement, typically within 500 meters or less. Firing beyond this range risks misfires, missed targets, or accidental friendly entanglement. Cannot be used at traditional standoff ranges.
  • Rate of Fire: Very Low
  • Damage Output: Very High
  • Recoil: None (internally absorbed via redundant inertial dampeners)
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • 4x Heavy Gravity Hooks – Corusca-lined, self-articulating, reinforced with servo-hydraulics for pinning, tearing, or grappling ships.
    • Articulated Corusca-lined Chains: Four total (or modular), each physically launched toward a target ship like harpoon-arms. Made with servo-powered joints, gravity-anchored tips, and plasma-cutting teeth to lock into hulls. Can reel in, hold, or shear through plating like a mechanical kraken from hell
    • Chain-Support Tensor Fields: Help amplify grip, reduce slack, and allow for mid-reel G-force transfer bursts.
    • Repulsor-Driven Vector Locks: Prevent targets from breaking away by pinning them against the Gravehand ship’s hull (or directing force into it during ram impact)
    • Multi-Stage “Grip Sequence”
      • Chain launch ➜ Anchor lock ➜ Hull bite ➜ Tensor pull ➜ “Crushing” phase
      • Optional: Buried flechette injector tips or EM-pulse nodes at chain claws
  • Repulsor Constriction Web – Adaptive emitters create a “gravitational cage” to lock vessels in place.
  • Tensor Field Microburst Cannons – Fires high-intensity gravitational pulses capable of crumpling hull segments.
  • Field Disruptor Emitters – Synchronizes with tensor blasts to destabilize structural integrity fields.
  • Localized Gravity Sink – Induces microgravity collapse at target center of mass.
  • G-Force Control Grid – Allows the user to control where and when G-forces are applied, crushing interiors selectively.
  • Redundant Inertial Dampeners – Allows for safe operation during extreme maneuvers.
  • Tethered Gravity Wells – Prevent hyperspace escape and drag additional debris toward the kill zone.
  • Pulverize Mode – Delivers rhythmic G-force pulses to mimic crushing fists.
STRENGTHS
  • Close Quarters Executioner: Devastating at melee range—can physically crush enemy vessels through field manipulation.
  • Grappling Control: Prevents target escape through repulsor-webbing, hooks, and gravity wells.
  • Anti-Shield / Anti-Armor Synergy: Disrupts shielding and hull integrity simultaneously.
  • Suppression by Gravity: Crushes or disorients internal systems, rendering weapons offline before full destruction.
  • Non-Explosive Capture Option: Can be used to disable vessels non-lethally by crushing engines or power relays.
WEAKNESSES
  • Requires Close Proximity: Completely ineffective beyond point-blank range.
  • Power-Intensive: Demands vast amounts of energy; can strain ship reactors during prolonged use.
  • Slow Activation: Not suitable for fast engagements—requires time to anchor and apply pressure.
  • Dangerous to Use Without Dampeners: Inadequate internal G-force control could damage the host ship if improperly maintained.
  • Ineffective Against Swarms: Targeting and engaging multiple small or fast targets is nearly impossible.
DESCRIPTION
Gravehand is not a weapon—it is an execution device for capital ships bold enough to embrace their enemies in death. Developed by the Commonwealth Naval Bureau in tandem with Primo Victorian Enterprises, Gravehand refines gravitic and tensor weaponry into an art form of annihilation. Rather than destroy at range, Gravehand captures, pins, and crushes, delivering violence with the inevitability of a fist closing around a throat.

At the core of Gravehand are four Corusca-lined, servo-driven physical chains, each launched with kinetic force and guided by repulsor-assisted tethers. These articulated arms bite into enemy hulls like mechanical siege hooks—latching onto plating with plasma-cutting claws and embedding with bone-cracking precision. Once anchored, repulsor field compression begins to distort local shielding, weakening its cohesion through directed pressure and harmonic feedback.

Field disruptor emitters embedded in the chain tips emit synchronized pulses to destabilize shield harmonics, creating brief but lethal flickers where the chains slip through. When contact is made, tensor fields surge down the chain’s length, crushing bulkheads with gravitational bursts and applying terrifying internal stress to a ship’s superstructure.

The G-Force Control Grid allows the operator to fine-tune the violence—delivering localized, surgical crushes that can cave in decks, crack reactor shielding, or snap a command spine without breaching the hull. Targets are not only immobilized—they are slowly, methodically unmade.

Ideal for star dreadnoughts, urban pacification cruisers, or siege-breakers built for close-range dominance, Gravehand is the ultimate tool of committed brutality.
