SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Golem-type Plating is designed in a three-tier layered system
    • Layer 1 or the Outer Plating is a desh-terenthium alloy impregnated with minute amounts of hijarna stone designed by Aurora Industries to provide a lightweight but protective layer of armor against energy and ion weaponry due to the absorption abilities of the hijarna stone and the strength of the desh-terenthium alloy.
    • Layer 2 or the Middle Plating is an agrinium-laminanium alloy that further protects against energy weapons and provides some self-repair capabilities for the armor plating to keep any potential breaches of the Outer Plating sealed.
    • Layer 3 or the Inner Plating is made of a thinner sheet of an impervium-titanium compound that provides a lightweight but very protective inner hull. This layer also makes use of the AR-0B ablative plating current to further reduce damage the hull would receive from kinetic weaponry.
STRENGTHS
  • Three-tired system of defense provides a very high defense against energy and kinetic weaponry, centered on the properties of the hijarna stone to absorb energy attacks such as lasers, turbolasers, ion blasts, and other energy weaponry along with the duralloy components and its continued strengths as starship-grade armor, specifically for starfighters and other smaller craft or ships that do not require a stronger hull plating system used by the company.
  • The Middle plating of the armor is able to repair itself due to the laminanium present, giving any ships equipped with the system an ability to repair some damage to its hull on its own. Minor damage to the hull can repair itself quickly, while major damage can take some time.
  • The use of several lightweight materials means the hull plating is lighter than other protective hulls while maintaining the small high degree of protection for the ship's integrity.
WEAKNESSES
  • Corrosive materials can have a devastating effect on the armor plating as it can easily reduce the stone-laced outer plating and hamper the ability of the inner plating to repair itself.
  • Sonic weaponry can shatter the first layer of the system due to a strange harmonic resonance the compound has, reducing its effectiveness and creating gaps to the second and third layer.
  • While the laninanium present can repair the middle layer of the plating system, it cannot repair the outer or inner layers if they are damaged or destroyed, requiring drydock time to fix the vessel. In addition, while it can repair minor damages fairly quickly, major damage can take hours if not days to repair itself and could still require drydock time for the ship to reach full operability.
DESCRIPTION

As part of Aurora Industries' Aeon Program, the Golem-type Advanced Plating is designed to complement the Titan-type Advanced Plating by being a lighter weight version of the armor, but with a few differences that make it more viable for use in starfighters and other starships that don't require the full protectiveness or power resources needed for the Titan-type. The Golem-type is also designed into a three-tier system of plating but uses different materials in its construction to maintain a lighter weight.

The Outer Layer is made of a desh-terenthium alloy impregnated with small amounts of hijarna stone. While this is not as protective as the compound designed for the Titan-type, it still maintains some of the absorption properties that make it an effective defense against energy and ion weaponry. The Middle Layer is an agrinium-laminanium alloy that further protects against energy weaponry while giving this layer some mild regenerative properties to repair damage to the ship and patch holes in the Outer Layer or the Inner Layer if punctured. The Inner Layer is an impervium-titanium compound that keeps the inner hull lightweight but highly protective against damage. The AR-0B damage reduction ablative current is also utilized in this layer to further limit damage from kinetic weaponry and impacts.
