With her allies coordinated, Valery watched the Wrath of the Maw being pushed back under heavy pressure even though she hadn't joined the fight as heavily herself yet. From debris being thrown into him to technopathic abilities attempting to pin him down and a surge of Force Light looking to purge his corruption — for all his power in the Dark Side, it would be impossible to keep up with all of it forever, and he realized this too.

Filled with rage and hunger, The Master of Ren struck into the ground with his spear and allowed its darker energies to expand out towards the Jedi, looking to drain and consume the Jedi of their strength and life.

"Watch out!" Valery called out, now rushing forward in an attempt to position herself between his attack and as many of her allies as she could. Her hand stretched out and she tapped into the Force, as a funnel of its energy formed within her palm to siphon the energy of the tendrils away as they lashed out at her and those around her. "Silas! Hollis! Can you two push for the bridge and help secure it?!" she called out, knowing they needed to prioritize that somehow. But their path wouldn't be easy, as more enemies appeared to engage them.

"Luric, keep at it - purge these dark tendrils, and let's push him back," she added through gritted teeth before she decided to lash out again. With his spear stabbed into the floor panels and Yula Perl Yula Perl hopefully ensnaring him enough, Valery brought her hands together and compressed every bit of energy she had siphoned in, before releasing a powerful Force burst down the hallway, and towards Kyrel alone, hoping to blow him apart if necessary.

The Wrath of the Maw sure was something—even taking their attacks head on, he continued to power through. In fact, it seemed like their ministrations fed into his anger, driving him on.

Kyrel's forked spear pierced the ground, sending scarlet bolts surging through the hall in all directions. One of the Jedi at his front—on Valery's side—found himself struck by the Dark lightning. Yula's hand extended to ward of the attack, but she was a moment too late. The current reached her, trawling her body and attempting to ravage her energy reserves. "Nnggh…" Gritting her teeth at the unpleasant sensation, Yula managed to break it's hold while stumbling back. For a few moments, she leaned panting against the warped durasteel wall, watching as Alex was pulled to his feet by his comrade.

It seemed that the focus of Kyrel's hunger was Valery, and the Jedi Master was taking every advantage of being at the forefront of his attention. While Valery was combating the Dark tendrils, Yula brought the ceiling over Kyrel down, controlling the current in both the newly exposed wires from above and the ones she'd unearthed beneath him. The cables would surge on him from both above and below, coiling tightly around the Wrath's body like hungry snakes, rushing along his limbs and torso wherever they could find purchase.

The X-wings of Revenant squadron arrived out from hypserspace on the outskirts of the reported engagement zone. The battle that played out off in the distance did not ease the rookie pilot's nerves. The entire trip through hyperspace he fought with his emotions. The overwhelming feeling of anticipation and nervousness wrecked havoc on the young Corellian's guts. Now, Zeven's eyes were glued to the chaos, his heart pounded while fear choked him. This was to be his first battle and possibly his last, the emotions were ruthlessly raw. All he could think of is he would rather be somewhere else. Anywhere Else than here.

Zeven barely registered what his commander was saying over the squadron comms as he was paralyzed with fear. It was only when he heard Addison's voice call out his number that he was able to snap out of it. " Rev fifteen copies, Eight! I have you're wing!" He tried his best to sound confident but his voice cracked with anxiety.

Zeven formed up on Addison off and back of her right wing. Their S-foils opened nearly in unison and locked into attack position. The mechanical sounds of his wings locking crushed the roller coaster of emotions he had been feeling. It was as if his brain just went click, eyes tunnelled vision as his entire body and reflexes reverted to muscle memory of training. He was wingman, his job was to stay with his partner no matter what and keep the enemy off her six.

The X-wings thrusted into battle with Zeven flying in concert with Addison. She was a brilliant pilot and he did his very best to anticipate her moves to keep tight in formation while at the same time keeping eyes on radar. She had made short work of the first enemy target and Zeven could not but notice how easily that kill tumbled into its very own wingman. That could easily been Zeven and Addison. "GOOD KILLS!" Zeven excitedly shouted back to Addison as she lined them up for another attack run to drive further into the enemies' formation.

The Nagai nodded, and proceeded to move with other soldiers headed toward the power core.

There was little reason to disagree or argue with the Jedi Knight, it was what he wanted Jand to do, so it would be done. It made strategic sense to remove the enemy's ability to be mobile, not to mention many of the weapons and defenses of the vessel would be hindered. So, with his blue-bladed lightsaber activated, the Padawan jogged alongside his fellow Alliance members toward the objective.

Jand could feel the presences of Maw troops ahead.

As the strike team rounded a passage corner, a hail of blaster-fire filled the narrow corridor. Jand was on the defensive without pause, his Nagai reflexes spurring him to action instantly, as he began to sweep his blade side to side and in arcs; the weapon resounded with cracks and zips, as the blaster bolts were deflected and parried. From behind the Padawan, the Alliance soldiers took aim and fired, as they expertly found angles between the movement of the lightsaber ahead of them.

It was one of the fundamentals of working with Jedi, being able to operate around their lightsabers.

"We push forward," Jand shouted, as he continued to steadily proceed, blade whirling around him. "Prepare for getting into close-quarters."

From Jand's flank, several soldiers pulled out grenades and pulled the pins; they then slid them along the metallic deck of the passage, where the explosives beeped at the feet of the entrenched Maw enemies and exploded...

She too prepared for the battle, dressed in the robes of an Atrisian Jedi, and armed with her two songsteel blades, and her lightsaber. A modest amount of kit compared to the Nagai she had boarded the shuttle with, and no doubt far less than some of the soldiers along with them.

“I look forward to the same,” she had replied, matching his gray-eyed look with a pale azure one of her own, “And I am interested in seeing your work, too.” She gave a faint smile. “For similar reasons.”

She had meant to seek him out and test her skills against his own well before this, but for now fighting alongside him and seeing him in action would suffice. When the shuttle landed within the Maw cruiser, she stood, smoothed out her robes, and took off in a jog after Jand, weaving amongst the soldiers. Her shorter stature put her a little behind, and she encountered Jand and the Jedi Knight just after her fellow padawan introduced himself.

“I am Ichika Masudo,” she said with a quick bow of her head, before Rakaan started providing his instructions. She synced her comm to the indicated frequency, and when the Knight left them to their task, she looked at Jand, then back at the receding form of Rakaan. She’d never met a knight or master that showed such immediate discomfort in the presence of padawans. Also, he looked pretty young, so maybe that was it? She flicked a glance down the corridor that would send them on their way to their objective, pulling the hilt of her lightsaber into her hand. Let’s go.”

She activated her violet blade and broke into a jog again along with Jand and the soldiers, feeling the same presence of Maw troops encroaching on her awareness as they neared a turn. When they were brought to a halt by the deluge of adversarial blaster-fire, she turned around in her position at the rear and watched for anyone that might decide to come at them from behind - fortunately at this juncture, there was nothing. They pressed on as Jand called for, and she turned to follow, monitoring the overall situation with her senses and her keen grasp of the emotional landscape. Watching out for anything that might be more than just the feelings of the typical grunt in the roil of battle, or the cries of pain and fear as their enemies were caught in the midst of multiple explosions. The potential presence of something darker and suffused with putrid purpose.

And still, nothing.

“You would think there would be more Sith,” she spoke up from her position after the noise of the grenades ceased and they moved on. Not a complaint. Merely an observation. “Unless they have made the mistake of underestimating us?”
