From Little Things, Big Things Grow [Coalition Dominion of Saleucami]

Objective: Reach the meeting point and scare off the small Rogue salvage fleet.
Location: Wild space.

"Master Heavenshield, we have multiple ships on senors approaching out meeting point, unidentified".

"Very well commander, inform the fleet we have company". Coci watched the holodisplay as the unidentified ships popped on the blue image.

"Blondie" existed hyperspace, and was immediately met with a volley of fire from the small fleet of Rogues with no other intent but to make "Blondie" scrape for salvaging. However the Heavenshield class cruiser has shields up and the fire power of the rogue fleet no match for it and so no damage is done. All attempts to contact the rogue fleet had failed only silence the answer, "Commander fire a warning shot across their starboard bow".

All ten turbolaser turned to position and fired. "Target lock all ships commander", Coci is in no mood for play. "Fire on my command". She would only give the command if they did not heed the warning and continued their pursuit to take the Heavenshield.

Saleucami.

From what she could recall, this world was [member="Judah Dashiell"] 's childhood home. A vast land of farmlands and agriculture, with opportunity for those who used a little elbow grease.

For Danger, she had an interest here, not only of expansion but to perhaps venture into agriculture as well. Small scale, nothing big, but if there was a place to start, this was it. Seeing as how Judah spoke about the world, and about his family on the off conversation they had only sealed the deal.

For now, scouting places and available land was the plan. With a hand on her hip, she stepped out beyond the small spacesport she landed in. Most wouldn't recognize her in her tan britches and button up blouse, but the red hair was rather telling. Braided in a thick plait, it swung to the middle of her back.

Well now... where to start?

Objective: Jump from shuttle into village.
Location: Approaching the village via the Shuttle.

[member="Nina Heavenshield"], [member="Taiden Keth"], [member="Théodred Heavenshield"], [member="Coci Heavenshield"]

Kixi barely got on the shuttle and already it would be time to get off. The shuttle would not make a landing in the village or at its vicinity, but rather she would be required to jump out from it and then use the Force to cushion her landing. Something that was second nature to her like very much most Jedi, such as the two Heavenshield children who already had jumped.

Kixi landed only a metre from where both Nina and Théo had landed. The smoke and dust filled sky slowly began edging lower and lower towards the ground. Soon the air would become unbreathable and toxic. If they didn't act fast, soon everyone would be dead.

"You two go on right ahead and gather everyone you can to that spot, I'm going to check all the houses down there just in case someone hasn't made it out." Kixi shouted out in the chaos surrounding them pointing in the direction of the houses.

Kixi bolted using a Force assisted sprint. She could sense all the houses were empty. All but one. Black smoke and dust were rapidly engulfing it too. Kixi closed her eyes and allowed the Force once again to guide her direction as she took in a deep breath. Once in the house she found a young boy unconscious on the floor. Kixi wasted no time picking him up, placing the boy on her shoulder and then carrying him out. He was unconscious and barely breathing. The situation with the air was worsning by the minute. She couldn't help the boy where she was. Using the Force she again sprinted, carrying the boy at the same time to the spot where the others all had gathered.

There she placed the boy gently on the ground. A frantic mother who was screaming for her young child ran over to where Kixi and the boy were.

"My baby, my baby his not breathing. Please do something. Please save him." The woman who was clearly the boy's mother cried out to Kixi.

Kixi shut her eyes and placed both hands on the boy's face. Summoning the Force again, she used all that she had, all her energy to heal the boy. A bright circle of light engulfed the boy's face, Kixi's hands, arms and the boy's chest. Kixi could feel the boy coming back to consciousness, and breathing. Kixi opened her eyes gasping for her own breath, struggling to breathe herself. The boy was okay. His mother embracing him as she thanked Kixi. Kixi had only just caught her breath, stood up and acknowledged the boy's mother when suddenly she blacked out. Her eyes rolled back as did her head and then first she dropped on her knees, and then fell backwards and lost total consciousness herself as she lay on the floor to the shock of everyone else who had watched Kixi heal the boy.

Welp, Kelon missed little missy Kerrigan and hit another one, one sniff and shrug later, all the same to Kelon, and so began packing up his things. Dropping a good copy of kei's hololocket on the ground, and a piece of torn camoflaged temple robe on a nearby branch, because really who else in the history of Jedi had tried to pull that look off. Some might say it was merciful that Kei had moved on to armor!

Clearly nobody could match the grand silver trinkets and exaggerated gemstones that usually adorned his figure, but Kelon's views on his half brothers lack of fashion sense aside. Giving a very Amadis grin, intending to imitate Kei with the illusions he attempted to project, and he almost pulled it off too. If it wasn't for those pesky sandstorm throwing kids!

----

Nato below looked on with concerned for her savior, “it'll be okay, it'll be okay.” At times like this she was reassuring herself as much as Eyrecae. Only a mild inhibitor to sedate, intended to cause drowseness, good thing it hadn't hit nato though. As her dart was intended to break down those little crystal implants which kept her spine walking upright now, not kill but cripple, hopefully Eyrecae had no such oddities like Sith alchemy keeping her standing!

The Kiffar's eyes drew darker, and her head shot up to the ridge that Kelon had shot from, whatever Sand Elpsis sent his way, was whipped up and twirled, shooting out over an even wider direction, the rush of air pulled along by downward draft, temperature altered ahead causing a change in pressure. A cracking of thunder followed only from the ground up, not caused by lightening but it was the same thunder noise from the rapid change in pressure, Elpsis and Natoline working together to cause a terrifying attack on Kelon.

----

Kelon, mouth agape looked on, as both he, and his speeder were lifted off the ground by the combination of the two Knight's powers, among the searing hot sandstorm, both were cleared from view, along with most of the foliage above and several of the rocks. That was going to sting in the morning wherever he landed!

---

Exhausted, Nato's head dipped down, and she looked to Eyraecae, her own vision returning to normal. “Hey.... you okay?” she said in her softest of voices, putting her hand on Eyracae's forehead to feel for a temperature if she could reach, otherwise just looking on from below. Giving a look and voice reserved usually only for when Sio made her nato-freeze. Nobody but Sio had taken an almost literal bullet for her, could this be the start of a new hero worship, who knows!

Heat blasts almost burning his otherwise pristine white robes, caverns Taiden had decided were best left for people who could stomach the taste of grit on the tongue, or salt in the shoe! Taking a swig of water from a flask in order to wash away the temperature change, just before he made a graceful jump into the shuttle. Kethy landed and let the youngling hop from his back, the girl gave his legs a quick hug and then ran off.

While off elsewhere Kei cursed a busy workload keeping him away from fun adventures. Taiden shook himself out of his heat induced meditative slumber, his energies being replenished and his focus renewed from his silent rejuvenation. A standing meditation and one that might eventually become a waking meditation if it was further practiced. Blinking his eyes to better adjust to the light, Taiden joined the others planetside again, with naught but a double hop to find his feet. Cue the jealousy of Echani's balance, if not their dress sense. A severe lack of armor or protective gear remaining on show from the padawan, [member="Nima Tann"] might have something to say about it next time they met, especially with what would happen next!

Saving the dying, Taiden put his own personal feelings aside as perhaps only someone as reserved (or detached) as he was able to. He saw the baby lying still, but he also saw something else. Inwardly torn, he trusted in the others and turned to run toward what amounted to the edge of a local forest nearby, starting to cut down surrounding trees so non became a hazard, especially to the local fuel come junkyard depot that lay on the outskirts.

Torn about the baby, the approaching flames towards this little stockpile of leftover speeder parts, and other assorted junk, claimed the single-minded weight of his focus to stop the fires reaching it. Hacking down the last of the trees with his lightsaber, he began pulling them away to put them as far from the power cells, electrical generators, or gaseous compounds as he could. All this burned his hands again, and as he looked down into them, Taiden remembered their last outing where he'd done the same, and how they'd barely healed. [member="Sera Inkari"].

[member="Natoline Kerrigan"] [member="Elpsis Kallikora"]

Eyrecae’s eyes snapped open at Natoline’s touch, and she grinned. She had a rather good view from this angle of Siobhan’s daughter. That was always nice.
“I am now. Thank you,” she said politely.

Standing, she stretched. The small mark on her chest had already healed.
“But I’m going to find who did this and tear them a new nerf herder,” she said vehmently. Going over to a nearby rock she found where her things were and pulled out her bolt pistol. Just what one needed for a fun day at the beach!

“Coming, Yelp?” she called to the redhead, starting the climb the rocks with purpose. The sharp edges cut into her but healed almost immediately. Someone had just made a very, very big mistake annoying the Goddess of War.

[member="Eyrecae Alzari"], [member="Natoline Kerrigan"]

Elpsis was not inclined to fangirl over the so-called 'Goddess of War'. No matter how cool the woman's healing factor was. For one, she did not appreciate stupid nicknames. "My name's Elpsis," she said, sounding a bit annoyed. That said, the white-haired elf was still cute. "Arsehole probably got tossed far."

Getting up and presumably with more sand on her body than she would have liked. Elpsis glanced over to Nato, giving her a grin. "Hey, you alright? That was so cool with the storm. We're so badass together," she said, sounding a lot happier. Getting up, she quickly strapped on her armour. Not everyone had super regen, after all! Presumably the shooter had been tossed very far, though obviously not across the whole desert since that would've been fatal!

[member="Elpsis Kallikora"] [member="Natoline Kerrigan"]

Eyrecae, being proud and more than a little arrogant in her own skills, glanced back.
“If you threw him that far he’d be dead from the impact. If you threw him less he’ll be alive. Either way, now is our chance before he can get away.”

Still, seeing that her prospects for redheaded booty were slipping away, she smiled.
“I’m sorry, Elpsis, a bit angry from being shot. I’ll be back soon and you can show me your fire….”

With that she headed off, finding the tell-tale scrap of cloth on the thorn bush. Her search went further, eventually coming across the overturned speeder. However, there was no sign of the occupant. Evidently he’d escaped.

Starleaves n Stimcafs
Not about to pass up an opportunity for adventure! Or maybe just an excuse to follow up behind Eyrecae, her view wasn’t all that bad either… you can decide that for yourselves. Not till her eyes were lured over to Elpsis with a happy beam lighting up her features, she was cool? Yep! Elpsis said she was cool! That whole team thing had been cool, blowin stuff, and what was she still lookin at her! Yep, blush, don't blush, too late.

“N your kinda hot,” Nato said playfully, leaning back against their rocks, nato wink. Yep definitely a change from her nerves since she’d settled back at home, blame sio and tegs tm.

A small flick of wind might playfully whisk its way to brush across Elpsis’s cheek and whisper in her ear, or more like along it, Nato could do whisperin’ too, just kinda, in her own way. Eye’s less bright, more… helllllloooooo. And after that because Nato or fate again decided to tease ms Kallikrora, she smirkled up to Eyracae’s returning legs above her.

Seeing her with that torn fabric, changed Natoline’s mood entirely… and she stormed off to pick up her armor, and gun.

Meanwhile at Kelon’s burned beard…

Dazed and moving his jaw, one bearded Kelon Amadis blinked, finding himself somewhere up an overturned small tree, probably with a broken rib or two. The light metal on his gear showed signs of having melted from the sandstorm, more burns to his cheek made him growl, but he was more annoyed about his clothes and singed beard. Not exactly what he had in mind when he’d made the shot. While below younger spirits were torn who to fangirl over more, Nato very much included, a perplexed Amadis unceremoniously…. legged it. Sith would talk and talk about never surrendering, never withdrawing. Frell it. They could die, he would go on living, and you cold be sure he wouldn’t be coming alone next time! Someone was buying him a new speeder! A new pair of boots! and a damned shave.

Fin for Kelon

Being an empath meant that Elpsis was quite attuned to others' emotions. Well, on those occasions when she actually paid attention and tried to use it productively! Most of the time it manifested as her getting a big headache any time she was in a crowd. But sometimes it gave her more insight into a person's motivations.

In other words, she sensed that Eyrecae's apology was totally insincere and the elf just wanted her as a booty call. Now, Elpsis had no problem with being someone's conquest for a night since she was totally cool with wild, casual sex and had some rather kinky tastes, but Eyrecae's personality just rubbed her the wrong way. Tempest had been nicer to her!

Anyhow, her mood improved because the wonderful Natoline told her she was hot and then brushed against her cheek! Yay! Oh, and she'd made Nato smile. She, like, totally liked her. Err, right, that silly grin plastered on Elpsis' lips was doing wonders for her self-proclaimed badass rep. No, she did not feel like some schoolgirl with butterflies and sappy nonsense like that. For the record, Elpsis had flunked out of Jedi school.

So, yeah, there was a bit of a blush on her cheeks. "Thanks...we gotta create more tornadoes together some time." Really, Elpsis, that's the best you can come up with? she chided herself. "You're...super cute. So glad you didn't get hurt," she said brightly. Well, that sounded less lame to her. Regardless, she likewise picked up her stuff and raced after Nato. Alas, the bastard who'd tried to shoot at the Princess of Tornadoes had vanished. First they found scrap cloth, then the overturned, wrecked speeder. "Arsehole's gone it. Shame. Would've liked to set him on fire."

Little did the two Dashiells know that the Trade Queen herself, [member="Danger Arceneau"] was on planet and scouting locations. While the two men were supposed to be doing the same, there was the detour stopping by the old Dashiell homestead.

The two had picked across the field of emerging grain to the home. It looked untouched throughout the years. Pitting from sandstorms, more weeds growing between the cracks but it looked more or less the same. Makai stood on the makeshift porch, guzzling water as he eyed his father.

Judah meanwhile was trying to break in as delicately as possible. Shoving things into the lock wasn't working and a good shoulder ram didn't do much either. So much for delicate procedures. Soon a booted foot came up and kicked in the door after a couple of tries. Dust and bits of sand fell through the house as he did so.

"Whoops....Lets hope it doesnt cave in..."

Ushering Makai inside, the room was barren. Remains of an old kitchen were in one corner, the living room portion making up the rest. Small narrow stairs led to a tiny upstairs portion of the home. Small, now grimy windows let in what little light possible.

"Well?"

Driftwood brow raised towards [member="Judah Dashiell"], looking a bit like a miniature version of his mother. Water bottle fell from his lips as he looked around in curiosity. Dust motes were falling and swirling, causing him to sneeze several times before an answer could even be formulated. Little shoulders shrugged and he moved around just a bit to get a better view.

"Its uh....run down."

Blunt sometimes, just like his mother. The hybrid Galan moved towards the old, narrow stairs and headed up. If it was small downstairs it was even worse upstairs. His father could barely stand. There were two rooms and a bathroom but nothing else. If Makai wanted to he could probably jump up and touch the ceiling.

"I feel sorry for Nana and Papa....the whole house could hear your snoring."

Saleucami.
2/20

Back some generations yonder, meteors would frequently cross paths with Saleucami's orbit and would bombard its surface creating circular patterns -- huge craters, calderas, circular seas, and stirring up subterranean waters and minerals, turning the calderas into life-filled pockets on the planet's surface. Large, bulbous plants were scattered around these calderas.

These craters of fertile soil were heated by geothermal vents and became the location of the earliest colonies on Saleucami. Beneath the massive caldera was a system of magma streams and geothermal vents that powered the scattered cities and provided warmth during the freezing desert nights.

While agriculture was the focus for Arceneau Trade, Danger also was curious about being able to find a place to cultivate the botanicals used to create Pydyrian Healing sticks. They were a lost art, with the native Pydyrians having mysteriously disappeared from their native moon of Pydar. These healing sticks had astounding healing capabilities. When rubbed against a surface, it foamed, leaving a white residue behind. It was in use all through the galaxy before bacta become common, and some thought it was more effective.

If she could manage to have them successfully cultivate here... Well, that would bring a whole new level of economical growth for the locals and for humanitarian aide.

Danger herself would be going from prospective location to location, unaware that [member="Judah Dashiell"] and [member="Makai Dashiell"] were also at the local family farm.

Maybe chance might bring them together. Maybe not. As it was, it was going to be a very busy day.

[member="Tempest"]

Since technically part of the plotline still needs to be wrapped, this writer has decided to post again. Anyhow, deep into the castle our more or less noble heroines went. Sith stormtroopers and minions threw themselves at them, but they were purged with ice, lightning and steel. Soon they were arriving at the inner sanctum, where the Sith Master awaited...

"Mistress! They are coming! We must flee!" The terrified, frightened acolyte looked up imploringly at the gilded throne and the dark presence it contained.
"Mistress?" Before the doomed acolyte could utter a further plea, invisible talons brutally sliced through his stomach, bursting it and causing stomach acid to spill over into his internal organs. Thrown into a state of agony, he crumpled to the ground a broken, though the Sith Mistress paid him no further mind.

The sounds of battle still went on outside, as Firemane soldiers mowed down the last cells of resistance. However, silence would reign as Kaida and Tempest approached the throne room. Sith was clad in dark heavy armour and and had a Sith sword at her side. "Is this what challenges me? A wretched slave and a space elf with the blood of her kin on her hands. I can only shake my head in amusement that the oh so noble Silver Jedi have sunken so low to enlist darksiders to do the dirty work they are too squeamish for." She made a gesture with her hand, and then clouds of black mist arose from the ground as she called upon the power of the Dark Side. These soon morphed into serpentine tendrils which leapt towards Tempest and Kaida, seeking their death. Given form by evil sorcery, the tendrils were pure darkside energy. Well, that was a tad overdramatic!

While [member="Danger Arceneau"] was parading around the ancient craters for botanicals, Judah had left the old homestead with Makai. The visit had been surreal and he had little intention to visit the graves of his father and brother. He was never one to mourn over a piece of etched rock. His son was a bit too young to fully understand the concepts of the deaths of his relatives, it was something that he could explain later. When he was longer on patience from not traversing his old home land.

The speeder kicked up dust as they made it back to the small town that serviced the area. Their intention wasn't set on spending time in the local establishments. A few clicks away from the city, to the North were the magma streams could be found underground. Judah could remember as a child the streams could be volatile. Most of the hardscrabble settlers in the area stayed far,far away. Most ran farms like his own family. Others did various other bits of work -- salvage, merchant, transportation services.

Judah remembered how hard life was growing up. It wasn't until he was grown and had a son of his own did he realize the incredibly hard sacrifices that went through the lives of most on Saleucami. Now that he was a local boy 'done good', perhaps there was a chance to brighten up his old homestead. Salacia had an eye for green energy. If he could use magma to produce some type of energy....well, it would benefit a great deal of people.

Maybe even convince a few to grow the algae for the clean fuel....

"When we get to the caverns you're going to have to listen to me. Fall into a pit of lava and I'm explaining to your Ma why you're in crispy little bits..."

Makai had positioned all the vents in the old speeder towards him. Cool air was feebly trying to blow its way towards him. The pack of bottled water was already half gone in the speeder. Scale speckled hands fiddled with the cap in one hand, the bottle staying in another. Iced azure eyes eagerly took in the landscape although there wasn't much to see. Lots of rocks and weird looking plants. Every so often he could pick out the edge of an oasis in the distance, so faint he thought his eyes were playing tricks on him.

"I wouldn't fall in, I just wanna look."

He was a bit of a spaz, just like [member="Thessa Kai"] . Must be the Galan genes overtaking the land dwelling human ones from time to time, any normal boy wouldn't be such a klutz. Nearly draining his water bottle to half, Makai stared at his father.

"Dad? Dad? " A unsure pause. " What do you want for Life Day? I saved up my allowance and Miss Ar-cen-now said she'd take me so you and Nana won't know what I got you."

Saleucami.

Agriculture was the name of the game on Salemecai.

What first had to be done was to test the soil, see what sort of material she was working with, and then take it from there.

There were already a few things she had in mind. Medicinal plants and botanicals. Trees that could provide not only a benefit to the community but also in economy. One thought was to hopefully successfully plant Vortal Trees. They were normally found on the planet Bestal Three, in the Bestal system. The crusty seeds of this tree could be used for medicinal purposes. Medpacs that used healing stimulants made from these seeds were roughly 25% more effective than standard medpacs.

Also in mind were Gemwood trees from Endor, Avabush, Barenth healing plant, and Pommwomm. But most of all, the hope was to successfully grow the botanicals required to hopefully successfully craft Py’dyrian healing sticks.

Agriculture wasn't the only interesting bit on Saleucami. There were other ventures that would likely bring in a profit. However, for now, Danger's interest would lay in agriculture. There was interest in expanding into creating nutrient bars for long space travel or as emergency rations. There have been several versions of this done in the past, most notably with IronChef.

Something similar in designed and updated would be best for Arceneau Trade, allowing them to produce and manufacture the nutrient bars with their own kolto, bacta, and botanical raised by the company. Research and Development were in the process of determining what would be a good nutrient blend, but also flavorful in profile. That was the toughest job.

The option of nutritional pellets was also an option. But who enjoyed being given a plateful of pellets?

Saleucami.

The idea was to work something along the same vein as the clear, tasteless small cubes, the ration cubes, or nutrition cubes. They were full of nutrients—useful for a quick meal for ground forces on the run. It was used by clone commandos. Although they had no taste, Commandos used them because they had the perfect nutritional profile for their requirements. They had no smell so the enemy couldn't detect them, and they had no fiber so the commandos could excrete minimal waste product and prevent themselves from being tracked.

Danger wanted them to come along the same vein as K-18 rations, which were military-quality foodstuffs served on large starliners, made of a protein source and fruit additive in a preservative wrap. The version ATC was planning to create would have he vitamins, minerals, immune supplements and such. Eating them will let one survive on a much smaller diet. With Danger working on a new Kolto facility, this could also be brought along into the mix, helping folk heal a bit faster.

It was all in research and development, but the results were promising.

There were other versions of the nutrient bars throughout the 'verse, but with the new research going towards botanicals, Arceneau Trade and PharmaTech were hoping to explore and expand on it. Being able to successfully clone extinct and endangered botanical plants would ensure a first layer foundation.

Recently, using the information on the Black Codex, Danger had come across information about a curious species. One that was last known to live in the Anoat sector of the Outer Rim Territories situated along the Ison Corridor. Back on Mustafar, Danger had relayed to Aeri that she wanted to scout this planet and meet with the inhabitants there.

With luck, the scouting party will find what they were looking for.
