Fresh Off The Production Line [Omega Pyre]

"Excellent. Well consider yourself a full time member of Omega Pyre, Ms Mare. Come, I have some facilities for you to get freshened up, and then we have a meal prepared." Unspoken in this was the potential of more...interesting...recreations later that evening!

"Congratulations, and welcome aboard again," Siobhan said warmly to Allaina, giving her a smile. Now Omega had acquired a great and extremely fun pilot and a deadly gunship. All in all a good day's work.

"Meal sounds great." Much to her annoyance her stomach chose this moment to grumble. Ha. Dinner. Given that this was Siobhan, she certainly could not complain if their meal took a more interesting direction.

"Food sounds good, actually. And a run through a refresher. I'm in. Glad to be aboard! Point the way, boss ma'am."

Allaina very suddenly decided she liked this company even more. The way they looked after their own was incredible and she was very much enjoying the fact that she got certain... perks. Perks in a job were great. And so the menagerie could go places and do things and yay fun times.

Tegaea nodded and led them inside further, and then on up to her apartment. Inside, droids had prepared a table for the four of them. Tegs took he head of the table with Anya opposite and Siobhan and Allaina to her right and left.
Once drinks were served, Tegaea looked to their new guess. "So tell me, Ms @[member="Allaina Mare"], relate for me again your previous experience, military or otherwise."

"I've spent most of my life around ships. Grew up with my dad teaching me basic starship mechanics back on Druckenwell, then went straight to the Academy on Hapes for four years. Spent a year as a line pilot in a TIE squadron in the Sith Empire before I decided that enough was enough of the Sith and cross-decked straight over here."

It was an interesting history - backwater crap, squadron officer, then... here. A strange mix, but a valid one. One that worked wonders, really. The diversity in training was astounding.

Siobhan listened to Allaina's tale while she downed a glass the whiskey. Strong, just the way Siobhan liked it, as Tegaea knew. The tale was interesting. Allaina had worked her way from backwater mechanic to squadron pilot...and now to them.

"Where did you see action?" she queried, interested in the no doubt explosive war stories.

"Honestly? The most interesting thing I've done so far was fly escort runs when the Sith took Mon Calamari. It wasn't much, and it wasn't exactly prestigious, but every role in a battle is necessary somehow. Plenty of pirate busts in the Hapes cluster, though. Tons of those. Spend enough time behind the sticks of a Miy'til and you learn the best way to break a pirate's back is through a couple insane squadrons' worth of pilots." Like that one time she flew straight at a capital ship's bridge in a giant game of space chicken. That was fun.

"What about you two, huh? What crazy battles did you get in?"

"We've been in more crazy battles than you can imagine. Everything from vampires to dragons to demonic creatures and more. Overall, we've come out of it pretty much intact. Could be worse."
She sipped her drink and ate a little more.

"Allaina...I know you are very new, but I have some responsibilities I need you to consider taking on...."

"Responsibilities, huh."

Allaina raised a glass to her lips, letting that hang in the air for a moment. This was an interesting turn of events already. "What kind of responsibilities?" As long as it wasn't, like, changing adult diapers or something, it'd be okay. That was just a big no no. And then she shovelled more food into her mouth because she was kind of hungry.

"Don't forget a terentatek. So many crazy fights we've been in," Siobhan said knowingly, raising her whiskey glass to Tegaea and clinking them together before downing it. "Sometimes it feels like there's barely anything we haven't fought," she declared, giving Tegs' thigh a fond squeeze under the table.

She could tell Allaina some stories later. Perhaps even about some of her exploits with Adril. Those had been even crazier. One would not want Tegs to perhaps get jealous.

Then Tegs switched the topic. Responsibilities, she thought, giving her new pilot friend an encouraging smile.

"We have, at present, grown considerably in just a few short years. We find ourselves a galactic power, coming to possess a fleet, army and government almost by accident. Therefore I wish to know if you feel you are capable of handling large capital ships in action, and dealing with logistical and strategic questions related to them."
She watched @[member="Allaina Mare"] closely to see how she answered.

"Oh, yeah, sure," Allaina said off-hand. She took a few more bites of her meal while she thought about what she was going to say and just how well she could handle the role. "The best part about the Hapan Navy was that it was comprehensive. I studied capital ships and basic large-scale tactics as part of the mixed-unit tactical experience. I'd have to brush up since I'm horridly out of practise, but I think I can handle it. Plenty of time with simulators for me again."

Tegaea considered matters, rubbing her hand over her chin thoughtfully. "Very well. Then I am going to promote you to the probationary rank of Captain and give you command of one of our capital ships. If you succeed in that operation...I will consider making it permanent. Understood?"

"Aye, ma'am." What else was there to say? She got a combat command on a starship already. Wow. Wow. This was huge. She went from bomber pilot to ship captain... and she had the experience, sort of, to back it up.

Sweet. Allaina ate more of her meal only to conceal the giant grin on her face.

Siobhan always liked when Tegs used her authoritative tone. A smile crept over her lips when she heard Allaina, who looked like the cat who had gotten the cream. Siobhan would have to somehow wing that when she on a big operation it was Allaina's capital ship she travelled on!

Omega did indeed have fast risers. "Congrats on moving up, Allaina," she said warmly. Siobhan did not waste time on praise unless she genuinely meant it, which was the case here. "You gonna design a battleship for us perchance now?"

"I would be most interested in what you could come up with...Captain," Tegaea said softly. "And of course, I will soon have duties to perform in your new role as Captain. Stay alert for any orders I might send to test you out...."

She finished her meal and let the droids clear it away. "Now, I'm sure it's been a long day for both you and Siobhan, so if you'd like to go I will have a suite organised for you. If you'd like to stay though, I can assure you things will be most...stimulating."

Siobhan likewise finished her meal and washed it down with a glass of whiskey. "Long and exciting it may have been, but the night's still young. I know I've still got lots of energy," she said with a mischievous glint in her eye.

Needless to say she would be staying. Her appetite was still considerable. "Tegs is great at making things very stimulating."

"I think I'll leave the ship designs to the smart people. I just contributed my expertise to the Inimica project, after all... you have the smart cookies to do all the thinking. The angry lady in charge does a good enough job." We all know who that means.

Then there was the rather pressing matter of the proposition before them, which elicited a smile from the Captain. She knew exactly how she wanted to respond to that. "I'll take your word for it, Siobhan," Allaina said, in a tone of voice that perfectly matched the one Siobhan had heard hours earlier. "Shall we?"

"Oh, yes, we shall!" Siobhan said very eagerly, apparently forgetting all the nice euphemisms they normally used such as 'filing reports' or 'debriefing' or discussing 'tactical positions'.

She leaned over to pull @[member="Tegaea Alcori"] into a deep kiss, then stood up and kissed Allaina's lips just as passionately, wrapping her arms around both. "My life has gotten so much more awesome since coming here," she declared happily.

Sudden makeouts ahoy and that was defintely a thing. There was absolutely zero questioning what was about to happen, because, well, redhead brigade's promiscuous... three-quarters. If anyone wanted to question what was going on, Allaina probably would have them shot. There wasn't going to be any more interruptions.

"I vote we waste no more time," Allaina said simply, leaving everybody definitely the best opening ever.
