ADVANCED SYSTEMS

STRENGTHS
  • Dedicated SIGINT Architecture: Outfitted with advanced signal collection, decryption, and jamming suites, the Fortan V excels in battlefield intelligence, cyberwarfare, and real-time enemy disruption.
  • High Maneuverability: Featuring twin Skyquake-XM engines, Icarus micro-thrust arrays, and vectored ion propulsion, the ship is capable of evasive maneuvering and precision positioning in fleet operations or covert insertions.
  • Compact Tactical Loadout: With underslung plasma weaponry, fast-track missile systems, and recessed rotary guns, the Fortan V is deceptively well-armed for a vessel of its size.
  • Advanced Countermeasure Layering: Housing overlapping jamming systems, signal scramblers, and decoy emitters, it is highly resistant to electronic targeting and missile tracking.
WEAKNESSES
  • Sensor Overload Risk: While powerful, the SIGINT suite is sensitive to overlapping frequency interference; saturation environments may degrade analysis effectiveness.
  • Lower Structural Resilience: Though well-armed and defended, the Fortan V is not built to withstand sustained frontline fire compared to larger cruisers or escorts.
  • Role Specificity: The Fortan V excels in electronic warfare and tactical support but is ill-suited for ship-to-ship duels without support from heavier vessels.
DESCRIPTION
A streamlined evolution of its Gen 4 predecessor, the Fortan V-class Tactical Support Corvette represents the modern Commonwealth’s commitment to precision warfare, cyber superiority, and rapid tactical response. Measuring in at 200 meters with a 60-meter profile and 80-meter beam, the Fortan V trades luxury and massed armament for a surgical, data-centric approach to warfare. The vessel’s most defining feature is its fully integrated Naval Intelligence Operations Deck (NIOD), occupying decks 9 through 13, which hosts the entirety of its Signal Intelligence Suite, including systems like the Spectra Radar, Zagreus Uplink, Black Vigil Protocol Stack, and Cryptolinguistics Analysis System.

Propulsion is powered by dual Skyquake-XM Ion Engines, supported by the Trinity Core Compact reactor and Icarus Maneuvering Array, granting it superior control in contested theaters. Offensively, the Fortan V maintains a lean but lethal loadout: a Kyronis II Plasma Cannon underslung on the chin, dorsal-mounted Draxus Pulse Cannon, flanking hypervelocity systems, and versatile Alecto energy weapons integrated into its hull. Defensive missile coverage is provided by Ovmar II VLS units, while recessed Ironfang and Thunderbolt HVCs offer 270° fields of fire.

Internally, its Internal Defense Management system leverages turadium bulkheads, automated countermeasures, biometric security, and retractable anti-intrusion grids to make boarding actions a nightmare for even the most elite teams. Countermeasures and comms redundancy are layered throughout, including Black Vigil Systems, and the Dudley Comm Suite, ensuring mission integrity even under heavy signal interference.

Designed as a force multiplier, the Fortan V does not fight alone — it coordinates, observes, disrupts, and survives, giving the Commonwealth Navy the informational edge it needs. While it lacks the physical dominance of a Line Escort or command ship, it delivers value far beyond its size through superior electronic warfare and battlefield control.
