For some reason I never truly got off the ground here...

Okay so from what I gather a little while ago you guys had people basically rupturing away and others showing up.

So a ready made excuse for Kat to be here is she just poofs into this dimension or something. It seems like I can do that and tweak her a little.

I appreciate you people <3

Alright I made an open thread! I'm going to roll with this new dimension thing and see where that gets me.

I appreciate all of the advice! You are all really awesome and I hope I can stay here and make this work

I'm also going to make a new character since lots of people said thats good.

:D

I had an experience similar to yours but for different reasons. I made alt after alt after alt and it turned into a muddle of horrific characters and stories, (Heck, some even only had under five posts) Then I was looking at my characters wondering which one of them was worth resurrecting. But I stopped myself, and combined what I liked about the others into one character; Amethon. Now even my dev threads are fun to write just because he's such a fun character to RP.

So my suggestions would be these;
Have your character clearly defined in your head, not a blank slate.
If you feel that writing your posts are a chore, stop writing and take a break. Continuing will probably only bog you down.
Most important, have fun, if your character isn't someone that's fun and that you're invested in, writing will quickly become a chore.

Anywho, I'm up for a bit of RP with you.

I have several returning characters from the OTHER PLACE. I found that this site offered a lot more freedom of creativity and play. BUT, with that freedom comes some blocks because not everyone is shoehorned into a set of limited factions where you virtually have to interact with a small group of people.

My suggestions to you are:
  1. Keep your characters but adapt them for the situations here. If you want to start Kat off as a Master from 800 years ago or as a new one now both are possible.
  2. Find a core group of people you like RPing with and work with them to create plots.
  3. Discover your writing goals and plans. Some people like leading major factions, some like doing minor factions, some relish just private threads. Find out what's best for you and the rest will fall into place.
I'd even suggest you make a new character if you wanted if you're not feeling Kat. That opens up new possibilities.

^ This is good.

No need to worry about anything, the forums are friendly and very funny, as it was said before the freedome this place gives is simply amazing... I mean.. you can even create planets and species! Lead a faction, making bussiness, almost anything and you can decide whatever happens to your character it's as if everyone is the protagonist of this story and to make things better, evereyone is friendly(outside of IC sith of course).

Well if you ever need someone to thread with and you don't mind a rebel then Blane wouldn't mind to make new friends. Also I was thinking in making one more character so if you would want a jedi partner/padawan remember me. :D Hope this helps.

You can approach however you want. New characters, retcon, retool. A number of people have done a number of different approaches.

Whatever excites you most is probably best.

[member="Katarine Ryiah"], the best advice I can give is to spend time in the Jedi or Sith for a while. Most people tend to fall into these two factions and its better to get to know people, and once you build up a network you can then go do your own thing.
