Let's entertain yet another alternate reality where Palpatine didn't die. Where the Rebellion filed and the Empire lasted to this time. Where the seeds of rebellion have almost dried out. A galaxy where Asoka died. Where Grievous didn't due. Where Anakin died and Dooku didn't.
