First Order Pre-Factory Workshop

Grand Admiral, First Order Central Command
Just remember that any 2200+ ship will require 30 posts of dev with at least 3 writers.

Also i brought along some tech from the OS that might be worth looking at. The Bastion System in particular goes well on larger ships with a lot of point defense weapons.

Hyperdrive Class: 1

Strengths:
[+] Under 12 Parsecs: The Bolt is fast, very fast - and she can turn on a dime.

[+] Han Shot First: She doesn’t believe in hokey religions, she believes in skill and in taking the first shot. The Bolt will not hesitate to unleash a barrage of fire on her enemies. Built to go into dogfighting mode, the Bolt can handle herself against pesky starfighters - and keep capital vessels on the edge.

Weaknesses:
[-] Lightweight: Lightly armored, and shielded the Bolt is vulnerable to being one-hit wonders or being shot down in one hit from enemy guns.

[-] Forward Facing: Her guns are fixed, they only face forward and thus she has to be facing her enemy in order to fire at them. This requires teamwork from her crew otherwise she’s completely done for.

[-] Nope, Nope, Nope: The Bolt while meant to keep capital ship’s busy she’s not meant to take them on head on. She’s of best use when in accompaniment of her larger sister vessels such as the Inflictor-class or the IDX. Or diverting fighters away with her sister the Dagger-class. If she sees she’s alone in a tango with a capital vessel, her best bet is to retreat.

[-] The Garbage Will Do!: She is produced in massive quantities, thus leaving her more vulnerable to wear and tear. She’ll need to come in for maintenance and repair a lot more often than other vessels. Either that or her crews will just have to figure out how to patch her up in between repair times.

Description: A last minute bid from Cloud City Imperial Shipworks landed them the contract to produce the Bolt. Originally designed by Primo Victorian Shipwright and Design, the design was sold to Cloud City on the condition that Primo Victorian can withdraw the rights at any time. For now, that doesn’t seem necessary, but the idea of the

Bolt would be a vessel that was capable of fighting off larger ships, aid her sisters and turn on a coin as it were. Due to her speed and maneuverability, it was agreed that the Bolt would require a brilliant pilot and thus those wishing to pilot her from the Navy are sent to train with the Starfighters. Keeping aware that the bolt is seventy-five meters and not say, twelve.

The Bolt was brought up as a way to increase the Navy’s flexibility, diversity and being able to go, ‘small.’ Admittedly her design is based off an old Corellian freighter, the YT-1300 to be exact. Ms. McBose grew up on Coruscant and hearing many tales about the admired vessel; the Millennium Falcon. Her desire to create one of her own finally came to fruition, unfortunately with Primo Victorian already taxed she was forced to sell the design while retaining the rights.

Which. She has done all of her designs, regardless - still, this one, this one holds a special place in her heart. The Bolt was sponsored by the Tarkin Naval Foundation in cooperation with the Bespin Imperial Society.

I'll admit my last response wasn't as constructive as it should have been. I'll give you now a much more helpful thought on your ship. First we'll start off technically.

Right off the bat it's 4x too big. The Chaos length limit is 5,000 meters, correct me if I am wrong, and that is only for flagships. The weapons, although I don't remember the specific rules are far out of the limit for flagships as well. The hangar carries far too much to be allowed, but the speed, maneuverability, and defenses seem alright.

Now, the First Order already has a flagship being worked on by @Evangiline Omar, although I do not know if it is still being worked on or if it has been flat out abandoned. If you really want, you can help with that project if you ask [member="Natasi Fortan"], or again, after asking our Faction Owner, replace that project with this, although heavily nerfed. Otherwise, I like the history and it's an interesting idea for having an Executer esque flagship.

Please do check out the following tech. On the FO Resurgent in particular it might fit quite well.

Bastion and a few of the 74's in particular.

I will also note that for a 20/20 speed/maneuver you've got the same Arm, Def, and smaller Hanger than the IDX. Granted, Arm and Def are related to class but I think you can safely buff it. Additionally, especially for larger ships like this don't feel too confined by gun math. It's all pretty relative anyway at this point so a few hundred 'points' over is no big deal if it makes for a better look.

[member="Valessia Brentioch"]

For a lightly armed, lightly defended small ship like the Bolt you can probably go quite a bit faster. Maybe down to a 4 in speed if you leave the maneuverability as is, or down one on each point. You could potentially make it smaller too, I figure.

Hyperdrive Class: 1

Minimum Crew: 1,785
Optimum Crew: 5,200
Passengers: 2,040
Cargo Capacity: 8,100 metric tons
Consumables: 4 years

Strengths:
  • Heavy Armament: Like other Imperial and First Order vessels, the Victory X-class has an increased amount of turbolasers, permitting it to deal with any enemy threat, be it pirates or an enemy faction.
  • Heavy Shielding: Alongside its healthy compliment of turbolasers, this heavy cruiser boasts above-average shields, allowing it to take hits as well as return them.
  • Medium Armor: Made out of a rather thick durasteel hull, the ship can withstand an average amount of turbolaser blasts, with some titanium-reinforcement in certain areas like the bridge and the reactor bulge.
  • Concussion Missiles: Armed with numerous launchers and stockpiles of warheads, the Victory X-class can pierce ray shields of enemy shields, but still being destroyed by standard particle shields.
Weaknesses:
  • Lack of Fighters: Carrying only one squadron of TIE Fighters, the Victory X-class lacks bomber support, allowing enemy fighters to exploit its blindspots.
  • Slow: Like other ships of the Order's arsenal, the Victory X-class has a slow speed and maneuverability for a ship of its class.
  • Lack of Aft Weaponry: This cruiser only has 10 point defense laser cannons covering its stern, allowing fighters and capital ships to destroy it from behind,
  • Missile Storage: While stored under titanium-reinforced durasteel, the missiles are rather close to their launchers, allowing the entire stockpile to explode if the launcher is hit the right way.
Description: With the continued usage of old Imperial models such as the Victory I and II destroyers, the First Order felt the need to give the aged ship design a break. After the tested success of the Imperial X-class Star Destroyer, First Order engineers began to design a complete upgrade to the Victory series, the Victory X-class Star Destroyer.

Carrying an impressive amount of turbolasers and concussion missile launchers, the Victory X-class boasts the ability to dispatch enemy ships as a mainline heavy cruiser, being backed up by equally impressive deflector shields. The hull itself is almost fully durasteel, with some parts of the ship such as the missile storage and the bridge being reinforced with titanium.

While magnificient as a fleet escort and cruiser, the Victory X-class still has a few notable weaknesses. The first and foremost being the fact that it can only field one squadron of TIEs at a time due to space being taken up by ground forces, armor, and missile storage. Another flaw is its slow speed and manueverability, which coincides with the lack of weaponry in the stern section, a common problem in Imperial ships that has issues being rectified due to space restrictions.

Though one of the most fatal flaws this ship has is in fact one of its advantages, carrying a missile stockpile for each launcher and reinforced by titanium-durasteel, if the launcher explodes at just the right angle, the entire stockpile can go up in a fiery inferno that could severly damage the ship.

The advantages do outweigh the disadvantages though, making this a deadly adversary to face in large numbers on the battlefield. May the First Order us it to its full destructive potential.

So I don't think it fills a really different role than the Retribution and Inflictor atm. It doesn't necessarily have to, of course. But we've got quite a few big slow heavy gun cruisers. We could use a fast brawler, more long range firepower, Electronic support ships, or something more clever. Again, not something that need affect this sub, just a note for future development.

I personally avoid listing ammo counts in launchers for anything bigger than a freighter. I tend to assume a 900m vessel has literally hundreds of reloads, to be honest. Also given that we've got two cool point defense missile launchers, highly recommended that we use them.

Also you're way under on gun math. Technically it doesn't matter but it helps ships look more menacing. Right now you're at 240 Turbolasers (4 per Enforce, 8 per Despoiler), 20 Heavy Launchers, and 30 PD guns.

You're allowed 400 Turbolasers, and trust me it doesn't cost 160 Turbo's to get a squadron. The basic trade is 2 PD guns per Turbolaser, and 5 Turbolasers per Heavy Warhead.

So as a possible alternative concept for this ship, you might consider the following.

Keep current anti-cap armament as is. Significantly buffing AA armament. Adding in the Bastion system, and reducing production to 'Minor.'

That would make the Victory-X a very capable AA cruiser with a good regular battery as well. Throw in some notes about a Command and Control suite and you've got a respectable backup command ship or small force flagship.

Totally up to you, I'm never going to tell someone how to write a sub, and the above can always wait for a different ship. But that's probably where'd I'd be looking at taking things.

Also as far as strengths and weaknesses go, bear in mind that both 'Slow' for weaknesses and 'Heavy Arm/Heavy Shiedling' is kinda moot when you're running at the standard numbers.

Maneuverability Rating: 14

Hyperdrive Class: 2

Strengths:
[+] Fire Everything!: The Stormcloud sends her regards, built to be the IDX’s little sister. Her repeating turbolasers are meant to unleash a torrent of heavy firepower at a steady rate. Her broadside power complements that of the IDX and perhaps most of the fleet.

[+] Ampful Nacelles: The Stormcloud is just a little faster than the average heavy cruiser, although this upkeep in speed came at a price. Because she is just a little bit faster, the Stormcloud is good to surge and support First Order lines while in the thick of battle.

Weaknesses:
[-] Given’er All She’s Got: As the Stormcloud has been built to go faster than your average heavy cruiser, this means she has more engines than them as well. This leads to her having to be in need of repair more often than they do, and the possibility of simply overheating a lot more frequently than your average heavy cruiser.

[-] Nova Squadron: She has no squadrons available, not even a shuttle to her name. Where a hangar would be is where her engines are housed. Reliant on carriers and vessels who have squadrons to run defensive screens, the Stormcloud is left vulnerable to attack craft.

[-] To Be or Not To Be: There is one fatal flaw in her armor her armor is thinnest where her exhaust is and as the engines take up a lot of space. All it takes is two hits from missiles or torpedoes to either decimate her or render inoperable for a severe length of time.

[-] All Good Things: And even for the Stormcloud, her end could be met if her missile storages are hit, given the amount of destruction baradium missiles can cause. The Stormcloud would not be able to weather that storm, and would succumb to her severe wound almost instantly.

Strengths:
  • Resistances: Energy dispersing plates, duraplast, and chromium makes for a strong defense against energy based weapons.
  • Duraplast: Defense against EMPs and Ion technology. Can take medium slugs and a light laser cannon, once in the front, once in the back.
  • Protects against radiation.
Weaknesses:
  • Everything Breaks: It's armour, it'll break down eventually.
  • Weight: Heavier than the standard Stormtrooper armour.
Description: The White Wolves are an elite unit of Stormtroopers. From the conception of the First Order's Stormtrooper Corps, to the combat on Zarnathea and Castameer, the First Order's White Wolves have been on the front lines almost since the beginning of the Order. They have ventured through dangerous territory and emerged on the other side relatively unscathed. The unit's Officers are typically found at the front, rather than the back of the unit, their ability at finding themselves in the thick of the battle unparrelled by any other Stormtrooper Unit. They deserved an armour that would allow them to survive better, if not, put them even at a higher risk.

The chromium finish on the armour blocks out low levels of radiation, a component that should be included in all forms of Stormtrooper armour, though chances were it'd come at a later date. The layer after that is the reinforced duraplast. Capable of blocking a single lightsabre strike on any given body part or plate, it excels at protecting against glancing strikes from lightsabres, though with the dispersing energy plates, any given plate can survive one direct slash, or three glancing strikes before being rendered useless. And finally, underneath all of the plates and metal is the heat resistant body glove. It provides light protection against blasters, and has more chances of being melted into the flesh rather than catching aflame.

You can definitely put more guns on there, especially some of the proprietary stuff we've got, which is all pretty neat.

The main thing I would do is add a few of those 8-count high precision turbo's of Popo's, and then pack on pile of long-range turbolasers. Point defense recommend buffing with Mk26 HARMs or Pursuits, and since it's minor production it can fit the Bastion with no trouble. That would give the craft a very strong anti-fighter and anti-warhead defense at no extra cost.
