"Don't worry you will be ok. Just be quick." Carefully he picked out the rocks he plans to use. They will only get one shot with this. "Here the first one." Using the force, he guides the rock to the stream. He gently places it in the lava. "Go." He says to her as he gets the next one ready. He places it a few feet in front of the first one.

Kay firmly gripped her satchel before jumping onto the first rock. By the time that she moved to the second, she nearly lost her balance. But she kept her momentum moving forward and so she was able to safely move to the other side of the lava flow. She breathed a sigh of relief and waited for him to jump over. "Your turn!"

Hawk breathed a sigh of relief when Kay made it safely to the other side. "Ok!" He decided to running force leap. He turns and walks away going about 10 feet away. The amulet whispers in his mind. Leave her. Hawk shakes his head slightly. There was no way he going to abandon his friend.

Ignoring the amulet, Hawk runs and force leaps across the lava stream. He lands safely on the other side. "That was fun." He comments to Kay.

For a moment, his hesitation caused her concern. But then he joined her on the other side. She breathed a sigh of relief as he made it, then waited for him to start walking. "One of these days I'll learn that trick."

"You better. It is real handy." He says to her as they continue the walk. He pulls a ration bar out of his pocket and munches on it as they go. "Ugh. These are awful.." He mutters as he makes himself swallow. He takes a drink of water to help wash it down. "With all this lava, I wonder if this planet has any wild life beside the Sith?" He says with a light chuckle

Kay rolled her eyes as he complained about the food. Food was food. Sometimes you had to take whatever you had. She followed him as always, slightly to the side of him so that she could keep a better eye on him.

"If it does, I certainly wouldn't want to know...."

"Yeah, it probably wouldn't taste good anyways." They walked for a few more hours in the darkness. Dawn would be coming soon. "We should stop and let you get some sleep before we get to the volcano." He suggested to her. "I figure we are about a day away." They had encountered a few more streams. They went through the same routine. The streams seems to be coming from the volcano.

Kay smirked as Hawk was thinking about his stomach again. Big surprise. She was getting tired though. The heat of the lava wasn't helping much either. So once it seemed as though they had found a good spot, she lay out her cloak and then, using her satchel as a pillow, she curled up and did her best to fall asleep. It was a light sleep, but better than nothing. She was just too consciously aware of Hawk and the amulet to allow herself to sleep deeply.

Hawk waited until Kay was asleep to pull the amulet out to look at it. The gem stone in it was white. He gently caress it. The amulet spoke to him. Telling him to leave Kay behind. That she was evil.

Hawk growled and shook the amulet. "No! Your wrong Kay is not evil. My daughter is not evil. You are evil. I will destroy you."

Hawk's growling and talking woke her up. One of the disadvantages of sleeping lightly. She sighed and then sat up. "It's talking to you? Just bundle it up and leave it alone. The sooner you're rid of that thing, the better."

"If only..I bundle and still I can hear it." He touches his head. "It is whispering in there." He toss the amulet back in bag. "Sorry about waking you. It just driving me crazy."

He paces back and forth trying to calm himself. He had to find his center.

She got to her feet and packed up her cloak inside of her satchel. After having a bit of her water rations, she threw her satchel over her shoulder. "Have you ever just left it somewhere and walked away?"

Hawk just looks at her for second. Did she seriously forget what happen to Maddie. "Yes and we both saw what happen. It attacked Maddie. I have to keep it with me for now,".

He slides the backpack on. He begins walking again toward the volanco. It felt like they were never going to get there.

Kay shook her head as they continued walking. He didn't understand, so she spoke with him as they walked. "I didn't mean walking away from it at home. What about here? If we can't reach the volcano, at least the lava flow might be enough. Just drop it in and walk away."

She'd of done it herself, but it could attack her if she tried to touch it.

"Maybe..we could test it. I can dip it into the lava flow here." He says. He was getting tired and sick of this thing. It was trying to get into his head more. He would feel so much better when it was gone. "If it melts....we leave and wait a day or so...until it gone. Deal?"

Kay nodded. "Agreed." She stepped back a bit. It wasn't as though she was going to lean over the lava and watch for it to melt. The amulet could act out of defence.

Hawk was little nervous about this. Carefully he removes the amulet. It was glowing green. Good it was in healing mode. He felts waves of peace from it. He smirks. It was trying to change his mind.

He walks a few steps toward the lava. It flashed red for a moment. He grimace in pain from a sudden headache. "That is not helping. "
The whispers in his head intensify. He drops to his knees holding his head. "Stop!" He whimpers.

Kay stepped towards him, but then stopped. She knew what kind of reaction the amulet could have. It could kill her. This was all up to Hawk. It was his business.

"Just throw it! Or kick it! Be done with it and let it go!"

He could barely hear Kay through the whispers and pain in his head. The whispers were telling him that the pain would go over. If he would stop his actions. They didn't want to destroy him.

Screaming in agony, he toss the amulet into the lava. The amulet floats on top than sinks below the fiery pit. Sinks but doesn't melt. Hawk lays down in the black sandy ground. His head was pounding and tears were streaming down his face.

The amulet was trying to get its revenge.

Wow. He did it. She hurried over to him as he lay on the ground and grabbed hold of him from under his arms, pulling him away. The further away he got, maybe that would help. She was sure to move him upstream. Hopefully the thing couldn't fly.
