- Links: Cathar / Chimeraleon / Edan Tiger
- Name: Ferions
- Designation: Sentient
- Origins: Kahmurra Biogenetic Research Station
- Average Lifespan: 150 years
- Estimated Population: Planetary
- Description: Ferions, both male and female, are ultra pale white with red markings (that vary on the individual) around the eyes that appear tribal in nature. They harbor long flowing white hair that resembles a mane. Thier body build is staunch and muscular, athletic in appearance. Ferions have extremely sharp teeth designed for ripping and chewing meat, and short razor-like claws on their fingers that are easily extended and retracted.
- Breathes: Type I
- Average Height of Adults: 1.6 meters
- Average Length of Adults: N/A
- Skin color: White
- Hair color: White
- Distinctions: Ferions are generalized looked upon as monstrosities, based on their unnatural creation. Distinctly, it's hard to determine male from female, as they can change in their lifetime from one gender to another. Males and females look simultaneously alike, gender examination without deep research. But, in male form less changed, they tend to stand taller. In female form, they tend to appear more cat-like. And that can change quickly.
- Races: N/A
- Force Sensitivity: Force Dead
- Camouflage: Ferions have the ability to utilize the ability to change their body color to match their surroundings, essentially making them almost invisible through their camouflage ability.
- Enhanced Physical Attributes: Speed, agility, and strength are heavily infused into Ferions; making them a formidable foe physically.
- Enhanced Visual Awareness: Those blue eyes are not just for show; they are actually a membrane that covers the actual eyes allowing them to see in minute detail, and in great distances. Though not nocturnal by trait, the membranes also allow them to see better in the dark than most species who also don't possess the ability to see in the dark.
- Sequential Hermaphroditism: Ferions, in their lifetime, can actually switch genders once to adapt to their environment for the purpose of survival and reproductive purposes.
- Overly Aggressive: By nature, Ferions are aggressive, lending them to be extremely territorial.
- Quick Tempered: Ferions are easily angered, acting on the emotion through their aggressive natures.
- Very Low Immune System: Due to their DNA genetic coding through the restructuring from the scientists at the labs, the Ferions now possess a very low immune system; essentially making them highly susceptible to all forms of bacteria and viruses that are associated with anything from a common cold to a full-blown exposure.
- Diet: Carnivore
- Communication: Galactic Basic (Broken)
- Technology level: Below Galactic Standards
- Religion/Beliefs: N/A
- General behavior:
- Advent Hunters: Ferions are excellent hunters, utilizing various strategies to hunt and capture prey and interlopers. They work like pack hunters and will sacrifice themselves in order to bring down much bigger prey or higher tier threats.
- Nomadic Lifestyle: Ferions are nomadic by trait, opting to move from one location to the next; never settling villages or towns, opting for quick encampments. They do this to hide their numbers from one nomadic tribe to the next.
- Procreation For Future Generations: There is no marriage or life partners among the Ferions. They procreate only for the purpose to preserve their species, and to ensure future generations.
- Collective Parenthood: After the birth is concluded, the cubs are raised to maturity and eventually into adulthood through the collective nomadic tribe. There is a high rate of incest among the Ferions. It is through this collective philosophy that the young are taught to hunt, speak, and other subjects associated with survival.
- Strategic Trap Artists: Ferions are masters at creating traps. They can fashion a trap out of any available materials on hand with deadly efficiency. Finding solace in inventing new traps.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
During the reign of the Galactic Empire, there were several top-secret projects in production, most kept from the skeptical eyes of the Senate. On the planet of Talus, deep in the Kahmurra Biogenetic Research Station, one such project was being undertook. There was a growing theory that the Empire needed a hybrid species that could be created and made to fight for the Emperor, to help compliment the Stormtrooper corps; but with a fighting ferocity the Stormtroopers lacked.
The Empire's genetic scientists began researching various types of DNA that could be spliced together, allowing for a sentient species capable of possessing primal instincts and qualities that of predatorial animals. Cathar DNA was selected as the primary source for the sentient basis while Edan Tiger DNA was chosen for the ferociousness that animal possessed; and finally, Chimeraleon DNA mainly for the species ability to camouflage and blend in its environment.
In the beginning, the project struggled with more than average setbacks, but the Empire and the geneticists would not be thwarted in their pursuits. Finally, after months and months of hard work, the first specimen was created; and from there many more had followed. However, the species now designated with the name Ferion seemed to be difficult to manage.
In the field, the species were put through several tests, and each test bore different results. The one common denominator in all the tests results pointed to the species was not manageable. In some of the tests, the Ferion were grouped with companies from the Stormtrooper Corps, only to have the Ferions turn on their supposed allies. In the labs, aggression became ever more apparent, leading to accidents and unnecessary deaths among the scientists. The project, it seemed, was a failure.
The project was scrapped, and the newly created species was ordered for execution. With so many of the species already created, it was agreed upon that the entire species be placed on a ship and by using a couple of Imperial Star Destroyers, eradicate the Ferions in one final swoop. However, before the Star Destroyers could annihilate the Ferion filled ship, the Star Destroyers were attacked by a small fleet representing the Rebel Alliance. During the battle, the ship, having been set on autopilot for decimation of the species, drifted harmlessly away.
Not too far after the escape of the ship, the Galactic Empire collapsed and all thoughts of the Ferion species faded into obscurity. All materials and documents pertaining to the Ferion project had been destroyed prior to the proposal of destroying them by the means settled upon. Today, out there in the galaxy the Ferions exist...but where?
